I'd buy a used IR for the same money. If it's tired, a rebuild is quick and cheap.

Who runs an impact at 90 psi? I have the same HF 1/2" earthquake and 3HP 60 gallon Puma compressor and this thing busted a Honda crank pulley bolt without much trouble.

Every time you shop at Harbor Freight a communist prospers. This Forum would roast you if you didn't Snap-On. Why do they defend the Earthquake? The Ingersoll Rand 231 is not much more than an Earthquake.
the IR is double the price of the HF, I consider that more than not much.
btw, this thread is over a year old. wonder if the OP ever figured out his problem...

I got mine for 70 bucks. I run mine at 150psi. I let that ***** eat!!! **** all that 90psi bull lol

With a 50' Flexzilla hose I get 90 psi a the gun with the static pressure set to about 110 at the regulator right before the hose. So about a 20 psi drop with the trigger pulled.

You Can get any part you want for that Milwaukee. One google search and the first listing is proof.

Not getting on the anti earthquake side as I've worked with guys that abused those things but I wouldn't buy one because of the on/off switch trigger. Milwaukee is very good about warranty support & I wouldn't be too **** hurt if I used a $200 tool daily & it failed after 5 years. Personally I bought a used ir2131 for $75 about 4 years ago. If it broke tomorrow I would do the same again.

I remember this thread when it first came out, but back then I had nothing to add. Last June I grabbed one of these when I was in California. When I got back home, I connected it to my air tank filled to 110 psi. Performance was underwhelming to say the least. I then ran it from my little pancake compressor, much better. I also took it to my buddy's shop, and ran it from his air system and compared it to the ones they had there.
My air tank is an old R12 tank with a conversion kit. I guess the valve size is just too small for amount of air that is needed by this tool.

So you are set to 90 at the gun with it running wide open?Ok, so this thread went overboard.
Anyways, issue has been corrected. And the gun works great. I upped the pressure at the regulator, and hooked up a gauge at the gun. I was only getting around 70psi at the initial setting of 90psi at the regulator. So, I jacked up the psi, and tried it again. Gun works great.

do you recall (about) what PSI your regulator is reading at the regulator, with the gun off?
