Any other recent publications, April issue is on the stands around here. I am afraid they wont take a printed off coupon, just incase.

They should take a printed one without issue. But if you want an original coupon, you can buy March 2012 MT on ebay for about $7 shipped.

My local store finally got the gloss red in so I bought both the 13 drawer bottom with the 359 dollar coupon and the matching top. Got it home, uncrated the two and the finish is awesome! Start putting the tool organizers in and........Problem! One of the drawers on the top box will not open all the way (about half way). I tried for about two hours to get it unstuck but determined I would likely damage it if I keep on.
So, I took it back to the store hoping for an exchange. They got the manager to get involved and he asked if I would be willing to keep it with a discount. "Depends on how much" I replied. He made me an offer I could not resist and I brought it back home with a little more motivation to get that drawer open.
After another hour or two, I broke out the drill and started drilling rivets (only two on the rail that was stuck). Finally got the drawer out and found the little plastic catch/drawer release was installed upside down. Flipped it over and riveted the catch and rails back on! I'm very happy with the finish and quality (the discount offset the incorrectly installed catch).

Picked up one of the end lockers with the old finish yesterday. Everything else they had was the new shiny finish. Price out the door was $75 but it's missing the door handle and locking mechanism. Can I order these parts from HF?

Pic of latest setup with new end cabinet. Wish I could have gotten one more bottom cabinet before they all got gone :(

One thing I did notice after getting the cabinet loaded up is that at some point HF changed the adhesive used to secure the badges on these.
The previous adhesive was a moderately soft black goo. They have changed it to a rock hard clear substance which I think may have been surplus space shuttle heat shield tile adhesive from NASA. There is no way that fishing line or anything like that is going to dislodge these badges. If you insist on removing one, prepare for carnage.

I didn't try to remove mine, as I don't care what the cabinet says. But they used a little too much on one and it gooped out. Removing the excess was very difficult even though it was just a small bit around the edge of the badge.

I take it you don't need to use that door very often.

Did he remove the US General badges and put CRAFTSMAN badges on it or was some of these boxes built for craftsman?

What did I do wrong, the picture didn't show up?

Nope, it's just another door into the family room downstairs from the basement that is never used.

HF box with Craftsman labels so it matches all my other Craftsman toolboxes.

I am quite impressed by the new paint, but disappointed that I bought my crinkle finish just about a month ago- I wish I had the newer one as I was going to add some more sections to it.

I plan on selling mine, and getting to updated paint since all crinkle finishes are gone here in VA. I bought a big snap on box, but that may just stay in the big garage, and I'll get some of the new HF boxes for the house garage.

Now to sell this one! Always somthing, lol!!!

Where in VA are you located?

.... just got done going through all 80 pages of this thread... really like how some of you guys combined a few of these boxes and made a workbench out of them. the craftsman badging is funny to me... but you gotta paint the drawers black!! if only the real craftsman tool boxes were just as good...

i've seen the new boxes with the glossy red, but only the bottom roll away cabinet. are they going to be introducing the top chest and side cabinet options in the new finish too? I don't see anything like that on their website nor at my local HFT store... they still have the matte red finish for the side cabinets.

Just picked up a second tool box. I like the new finish better, but would have rather had the old finish to match my old box.
you could get another one in the new finish and sell the old one with the old finish and then you'd have matching pair.

Arrrgh! I bought one LAST weekend! I had been holding on to a $339 coupon for a couple months until I finally decided to go the HF check them out,and ultimately buy one. I figured that was about the cheapest they would go. My luck.

I think you did great on price- the price in the title is from many moons ago. You did well!!!

I just bought a 42" end cabinet today and was told they were being replaced by one's with a "shiny" red finish. So it soundas like they are all going gloss red.
If you want any of the matt ones, you had better hurry, I had to check 4 stores.
Regards

I was at HF today and they have nearly all gloss ones in the Worcester, MA location. All tool boxes were gloss. Just one roll cart which wasn't.

Kinda wish the top box was still available in crinkle to go with my bottom box now.

Are there any current coupons for the Top Box? I have the old finish lower, thinking I may put that under my workbench and pickup a new gloss top+bottom as I'm running out of room.

I was wondering the same thing. I would like to buy the upper and lower but all i have a coupon for is the lower roller.

Picked up my lower box using a $349 coupon. Manager said he had to see if it worked on the new box. No problem . Register took it like a champ. Insert SIGH of relief. Hey, $50 bucks is a decent meal for the family and living in LA county results in a ton of sales taxes on this box. :) I am just waiting for them to stock the top unit to match and side locker. Also picking up the nice cart with a coupon for $149 tomorrow. Sold my Craftsman box and must say I am very impressed with these boxes.

Additionally, I would not try to unload the box with the cheap wooden crate. At least on mine the wood practically fell apart with little effort. They loaded it into my truck with a forklift, but the load is on the pallet not the rest of the crate. We just slid it down the tailgate (lined) to reduce the weight. Then both of us lifted it off the pallet and it was rolled from there. FYI, we workout so be leery of the load if your biggest curl is a torque wrench. ;)

Coupon attached. Not the best scan but my local manager had no issue with it. :bounce:

I used that same coupon last night in Cincinnati, and it worked fine. I have to say I'm very impressed with that tool box. I love the modular aspect of it. You can add on as needed, and it's a perfect match to the 5 drawer cart.

Darn wish I had that coupon. Just bought one last night for with coupon for 359$. I'm liking the box so far but I need to buy some mesh liners. The liner they had in the box *****.

Also I notice mine are difficult to open unless there are some heavy tools in the drawer. The ones at the store opened with much less effort and they are empty. Maybe I need to break it in a bit?

Tony, as a fellow Lexus owner and enthusiasts, a tip, you have 30 days to go back and get the difference with HB. :)

Well I'm going back to HF soon to return a machine. I'll give it a try since it's convenient. $10 is not worth me driving back and forth, but it's worth mentioning while I'm there anyways. =)

Is the best coupon for the large cabinet still $699?

I have scoured the entire 50 billions pages-not, but close to for anything less, and yes, that is the lowest I was able to find. No $599 coupons to be found.
