Went in with my rain check today + the 20% coupon.
Very happy with it, couldnt ask for more with the price paid. Excellent for at home. Already filled it up, Will need to go back for a sidebox soon.

A couple of photos of our set-up using the box. Outstanding quality...super glad we bought them.

Thanks.

No, I didn't have to reposition anything -- that's what's cool about the design. The thicker drawers use two slides per side instead of one, and all the sliders are spaced evenly. So you can put them anywhere in the stack.

just don't expect to do the same thing between the top box, side cab, and the bottom roll away. I did some re-arranging on my setup a while back. the lock style is different and in different locations on the three pieces.

just picked mine up yesterday. Going to start organizing and see if I need to pick up the side cabinet for more storage.

Some of you guys who didn't have help unloading may envy my vehicle. It's a handicap accessible Dodge Grand Caravan. It has a ramp on one side so all we did was have the workers take the box out of the crate and the girlfriend just rolled right in. if needed, there is a lowering mechanism that will lower the vehicle another 5 inches or so for a better angle.

^ thats awesome.. I don't have a HF box (but would buy one in a heartbeat), but I was able to borrow a rack truck with a lift gate from work to get mine to the house.

nothing like having the proper tool for the job

Tell me about it. Everybody I know prefers to borrow my van then a truck for big-ticket items (big screens, snow blowers, dressers, etc.). Open both sliding doors, go up the ramp and out the other side. It even has lock down straps built in to strap things down.

It is very rare to see the sale price of $349 and a 20% off coupon at the same time. Usually when $349 price is in the flier, it is also a coupon, and they aren't suppose to be combined. It is a lot of box for the price. I did notice that the actual drawer depth is about 16", whereas some other brand boxes are 17 or 18".

I rented a trailor from U-Haul, the kind with the big ramp you drive a riding mower up for 19.95. HF put the box in with a fork lift. Slide it off when I got home. Easy, cheap, no lifting and I did not have to ask anyone to use their truck.

jusr wondering if anyone else noticed that
looking at these boxes it occured to me that they look a whole lot like a vintage Cman box back when the drawers were red and the body shell was a silver/grey.
it has been a little tempting to do a little repaint and add a cman badge

on another note.
anyone have a spare handle for one of these that they are not going to use?
I am tempted to add a handle to the opposite side

There was a picture that was posted elsewhere on GJ that had 4-6 of the roller boxes built into work benches. Looked like it was an in-process picture. Can anyone find a link?

Thanks,
Don

Well I decided to get some. I have outgrown my Lowes Colbalt 41 inch top and bottom box's, The draws are not deep enough. So I bought 2 13 draws rollers and one 7 draw side box. I already had the side locker. They seem to hold up good with all the weight in them. This is still a work in progress. Next I need to do the floor.

Can someone post the outside dimensions of this box with the packing on it? I want to make sure it will fit in my truck or else I'll need to call in a favor and get a buddy with a pickup truck.

Don't know what you drive. But it fit in the bed of my 07 Ranger with a camper top. I had to remove the pallet to get it in there. They were more than happy to help me load it. Very good customer service for a change.

It's exactly 45" x 45" x 20" in its packaging. I drove down from Montreal to Syracuse a couple of weeks ago to pick up three of these bad boys...

Why did you go all the way to Syracuse?Albany didn't have any in stock?

You can find the 20% off coupon online at harborfreightusa.com/autoweek.

I'll going to go hunting for a couple boxes myself. I have 4 stores within an hour's drive, and I'm going to call first to make sure that they have what I need. I've talked my neighbor into going, so that he can 'buy' one himself, since the coupon is good for one item only, one coupon per customer. If I decide to get some side cabinets, I'll have to buy the tool boxes first, load them up, then go back in and be a 'new' customer, just in case they want to be sticky about the rules. Worse case, I have to make a couple trips on sepearte days or to different stores.

Albany is definitely closer, but that would mean driving through a Quebec/USA port of entry where I would have to pay 5% sales tax and then another 7.5% tax on top of that when coming back into Quebec. By going to Syracuse, I drove through an Ontario port of entry where I only had to pay the 5% sales tax. It's a little further, but worth the detour.
Drove down with a friend, he bought one too, so we split the expenses.

i was concerned about that also, the gal at checkout said if i pay for one item at a time it would be no problem.

i guess i would make copies of the coupon if i had a hour drive and just go in and out a couple times

So do the tool boxes have drawer liners? The website says they do but I just wanted to check. I shouldn't have bought my bottom Craftsman box. This ones twice is big for the same price :(.

I think I may go buy one anyway. My local HF sales flyer says they are normally $499.

im heading over friday night to buy another one. Going to bolt both together along with the 7 draw side mount and put my work bench on top. Also putting some Proto emblems on them to give it a more expensive look:thumbup: since the Proto boxes look just like the HF ones.

I got mine today, I am comfortable paying less than $300 for this box. Does anyone have a ball park on the weight of this? On the box it says 704 lbs! Is it feasible to take this out and put in back into my truck with 3-4 buddies?

I read somewhere I think it was the HF site that it was 300 pounds. It is heavy.

drawer liners that come with it aren't horrible, but aren't close to good either. They tear easily and slide around quite a bit. they usually seem to end up wadded up at either the front or back.

As far as weight, when i brought mine home from the shop (replaced with a snap on finally), i brought the bottom roller cab home in my 4runner. My g/f and i unloaded it ourselves. this was obviously with no tools, but it had all the drawers in it at the time. the side cabinet i loaded and unloaded by myself. I'm sure w/ the crating they come in they will weigh more, but still not a huge deal.
