I picked up a 7-drawer side cabinet today. Added a small simple base made of 80/20 to add 4 HF casters. This will be my mill cabinet to sit next to the bridgeport to hold the tooling. Pretty nice cab for $159.
Some yutz bought all 3 of the 13-drawer base cabinets yesterday from the Grand Rapids, Michigan store....
Can you post pics of your base setup?
from which magazine did you get the coupon?
How come they don't put the black ones on sale???
I dont know, but i'd rather have a black one too. I have only seen a black one once

looks like the sale is over on these bottom boxes. Has anyone looked at this set that they currently have on sale:
I need a spare box for tools in the house.

My buddy was interested in this box, but after inspecting it a little, I told him to stay away.
It's one of those things that, if you look at it too hard, it might fall apart...

I was interested in this box. They had one on display. After examining it I passed. I think if you want to store fly tying materials or something extremely light weight you could use this as a good organizer but add 2 screw drivers and a ratchet and you will overwhelm the sliding drawers.looks like the sale is over on these bottom boxes. the red box setups are still on sale until the 25th, look at the hf "rollin back the prices now" sale flyer on there web site.

Does anybody know if harbor freight has a mid-chest (2-3 drawers) available? The pictures of the assembled set in the coupon above show a 2 drawer mid chest. I have a craftsman rolling cab and top chest and need a mid chest. I looked on the hf website but cannot find a separate item listing for the mid chest.
Thanks.
Now I just have to unload everything from my cheap Craftsman box to this one.
Don't forget to save the emblem from your cheap Craftsman box. So you can put it on your new box. Seems to be the new trend.
Something to add to your thoughts. The Chinese stuff is shipped over here on a boat. Unloaded by American Union Longshoreman. So you are keeping them employed. It is then transported by American Truckers, maybe they are independent or teamsters, it does not matter, they are Americans and they pay taxes just like you and me and that keeps them employed. The truck driver has to have maintenance done on his truck and he stops at truck stops to by gas and food and guess who serves him. Americans.I had a brain fart today. I have been hell bent on not buying Chinese stuff. Then I thought - most of the chinese stuff is stuff that is manufactured for companies in the United States and other "free world" countries... So if I buy chinese, then I'm supporting American companies right ?? That's a good thing, right?? If so, it comes back around to buying quality stuff - no matter where the label says it's made right ???
Am I off track here? I promise I have not been drinking today.

There are some items at Harbor Freight, like their tool box that I can not justify buying the American brand because the price is too high. If I don't buy HF then I do without. If I do without then look at all the folks that do not get to work.
Consider the folks that work at HF or any other discounter like Walmart. They are Americans and the money they make may go to pay the mechanic that owns nothing but Snap on and American made tools to fix their car yet he that refuses to buy from their store. Kinda funny if you think about it.
I guess someone could rationalize further by claiming that spending money at HF gives the Chinese government more money to lend the US (with intrest) to keep our failing economy afloat another day.
Here it is from another angle figuring Harbor Freight, or made in china never really started and everything was still made here:
There were a heck of a lot of mechanics who made a living before Harbor freight existed and customers had no problem paying the bill because they had good american jobs and could afford to pay the bill.
I never had any problem buying tools and stuff before Harbor freight opened. I bought them from stores that are now put out of business because people go to harbor freight. So the people who currently work at harbor freight would have worked in the stores that they put out of business, so that is a wash.
The same truck drivers would deliver the american products so I guess that is a wash.
The longshoreman would probably be working shipping and receiving at all of the american companies and I bet allot more would be needed.
The boats that take the stuff over here are all foreign owned so those jobs don't count.
Now lets add additional jobs that would be created it the product were made in america.
The factory workers who make the product
All of the people who work a the factory/company. ie. secretaries, managers, Janitor, maintenance crew, mail room boy, cafeteria staff, the list goes on.
The factory loading dock people who unload the raw materials that go into making the product.
The truck drivers who bring the raw materials to the factories.
The people who process the raw materials.
The utility companies employees who provide, electric, water, gas, sewer, etc to the company.
I'm sure I missed a bunch, but I think this is enough.
Everyone feel free to chime in with additional American jobs that were lost when everything started getting imported from China.

It is then transported by American Truckers, .

9/10 container drivers who deliver exotic flooring to my warehouse are non English speaking Europeans, or southerners.

I bought a 3 pack of craftsman emblems for mine- but then decided to make some Proto emblems since the HF and Proto boxes look so similar, so thats whats on mine now.
Why on earth would you put Proto emblems on a Harbor Freight tool box? That's like putting Cadillac emblems on a Yugo.
