I agree. After watching a few video reviews I'm not sure I'll be buying it unless its around 40-50% off. I have the Craftsman 1/4" v-series set and the Icon flex-head ratchet and bit set. The "want" factor is not that strong, I can resist!
I'd rather have the original meme tool and a set (or two) of the Makita XPS impact sockets.
Case design is often overlooked or an afterthought on sets like this, and it's where the original version really shined - almost zero wasted space. This new one is better than most, but not as good as the original and I'm not sure that big handle is adding a ton of value vs the space it's taking up. It'll be interesting to see pictures of this next to the smaller version.
Also fewer bits (and I wonder how well that folding mechanism will hold up) and losing the ratchet pass-through.
I think there was a good opportunity to add some sockets to the original and come in around $60 MSRP, but the size and price got a little too bloated on this one.

I like that the discount for the ITC members is (slightly) more than anyone off the street. Just offering the same discount a few days earlier than the general public doesn't impress me as much. Of course, there should be (at least) a 10% differential in the discount, IMHO.

Most of them are like that. Or it will be something like X% off with a minimum purchase amount for non-ITC, but ITC will be with any purchase... Example the free bucket a few posts above.
Every month there are exclusive ITC discounts too. I've used them several times and saved quite a bit.
Don't knock early access though. Those 40% off coupons tend to empty shelves quickly. I've seen it multiple times, most recently with 40% off Icon wrenches. Products sell out fast once they go public, sometimes even before that.
I picked this up as a hail mary and it's a decent-ish tool if you can get it or a better clone. I think I may have paid 7.50 on clearance. I used it to cut a broken tap w/the included diamond cone bit...took a while but I was watching youtube while doing it. It reminded me enough of some professional deburring tool I saw on youtube once so then tried it on a chicom lathe chuck w/satisfactory result. You can go faster w/needle files in some areas but not others (scroll teeth for instance). The collet nut was junk so pick up or borrow one from another rotary tool (I did).

Can't deny their 4' LED shoplight. I haven't lost 1 yet to failure. Everyone else around here has them for $40 and up now. For $14 it's a great value. Same for the 1700 lumen flashlights.
