As long as they haven't been messed with too much, they are not a bad engine. It is a shame, FORD is actually what ruined them. International had the same engine in medium duty trucks with almost none of the FORD issues, they ran software from International, not FORD.

Yep, AZ, around here they call them
6 leakers, as soon as it's done it will be sold, not because of the 6.0 but because I really don't need that much truck anymore!
Strouty, the only thing out of place is the egr valve? Is laying on the intake and the po installed a block off plate. I told Chester to put it back where it belongs. I don't think anything else has been touched.
The signs were a pain in the **** but yes they will be nice, they were big money when Dude originally had them plased out.

My uncle has one that he has probably sunk about 15k into, at least.

When it runs, it runs like a raped ape though!!

This one is still in factory condition, it hasn't been chipped or messed with other than the egr being blocked off. It has 178,000 miles, which is pretty low miles really. Like you said, this one runs like a raped ape also, it will pull the mountain grades around here with no problem even with my dump trailer behind it! I sold the dump trailer and have thought about selling my car trailer also so the truck goes also.

Guess what I did yesterday!
I couldn't remember exactly where the lid was so it took about 20 minutes to find it.
I'm building a thumb drive for the next owner, so they will know where I burried everything.
I also got the conduits for the generator moved and buried, now to form and pour a pad, progress is good!

I got started in the shop this morning, I cut a 20' piece of rebar into 40" pieces, then I bent them and welded them together, then I welded 18 washers around the branches.
20230830_200829.jpg
I forgot to take a before pic, but the rebar tree sits on top of a fence post that I put in three years ago to support my black Muscadine vine that is now in tree form.
20230830_182448.jpg
I have been tying, and trimming, and eating muskadines all afternoon.
20230830_200705.jpg
I built a trellis of sorts for the grape vines also, the grapes did real well this year.
20230823_201216.jpg
Pat canned 40 ½ pints of grape jelly, we'll do muscadine jelly next year.
20230830_132338.jpg
I'm trying the cardboard under the mulch for weed control, I cut 20" circles for the vines and trees, I'll mulch them tomorrow.

Shorty, I'm hoping that you will bring me a couple of palm trees someday when you are passing through!

I will work on the lower sections of those two vines, removing limbs and leaves, trying to tighten up the larger stems making it look more like a tree trunk.
I'm going to layer a couple of the black Muscadine limbs tomorrow, so that I can make two new plants for another arbor for next season.
I worked on my Blackberrys this morning, removing all of the old wood and cleaning them up.
20230831_183941.jpg
The neat thing about Blackberrys is that if a branch touches the ground for a couple of days it will root, so as mine grow up and over I let the tip root for about 2 or 3 weeks then I just clip it in the middle, then you have two plants, if you dig a trench and bury a limb (that's still attached to the main plant) it will grow multiple plants.
20230831_190010.jpg
I put the landscape bricks around the two trees in the front yard. Then!

I moved to the side yard, Pat and I put out about 200 bricks and two yards of mulch, I need about another 100 bricks and probably 3 more yards of mulch! Not tomorrow though!

20230823_152358.jpg
Got 130 top 50 plaques back from powder coat, now Pat and I have 129 more vinyl stickers to apply!
20230815_144155.jpg
Donnie cut out some sings for the food booth, he cut the blue plastic and mounted the letters, now I need to install eyelets at the corners so we can hang them.

Went to Sam's club yesterday and bought the food and supplies,
The car show is Saturday, I may get done in time.

Kay, I won the Rat Fink on a 10 dollar raffle, Then Pat said she was going to put it on the front porch! I had it for about 2 minutes!
Don, yes they do, the black one belongs to Vince Messer, a buddy of mine, it has vintage air, and full power everything, he drives it to Florida a couple times a year. I love the color on the burgundy 57

This is the weak link on my zero turn mower, JD Z465, it holds the front of the deck to the frame, it has broke about 8or9 times.20230911_140022.jpg
I look around the shop for some parts.
20230911_141232.jpg
I rounded the nuts slightly so they fit inside the tubing, then cross drilled the tubes.
20230911_152310.jpg
Now I'm betting these will not brake, I went for a test mow and the mower was actually a lot smoother, not nearly as rattley as it used to be.
I did two more flower boxes today, ran out of mulch so I had to quit for today.
20230910_141132.jpg
I have been helping Dalton put porches on his new house, we originally thought we were going to put wooden pickets on them but Alex volunteered to build all metal railings so we cut the posts off and started decking them. Almost half of the lumber that was delivered is going back, it's too rough to use, so while we are waiting I made a template for the stair stringers.
20230912_173648.jpg
We have 2x12s to cut these from. They will be decked with 2x10s for treads.

Josh and Haley wanted to convert one of there old structures into a coop so we went out and started gathering supplies, first we needed a tree.
This is where the tree came from, the back side of there farm. Now you know why we all have the UTVs

20230914_164733.jpg
Then we needed some old tin.
20230914_170844.jpg
Josh got some extra help.
20230914_170819.jpg
Very nosey.

We got a good start but I didn't get any pics. I'll get them tomorrow!
Whitley and Dandy had a good day, not bad riding for a four year old.

Got back to my yard today.
20230918_134619.jpg
We have been hearing about people using cardboard under mulch so we are trying it.
20230918_200424.jpg
The hastas were down by the carport and Pat wanted to move them so we split them in half and put them here back in the spring.
20230918_175712.jpg
The grass won't grow back here, it's too shaded.
20230918_200557.jpg
It got dark before we were done!

I went and helped Josh today, We got back to the coop.
20230921_145118.jpg
This was the fuel shed, We pulled the tank out.
20230921_172708.jpg
Then we put the roof tin that we took off of the cattle feeder around the bottom.
20230921_172646.jpg
Haley found a door on market place and went and got it.
20230921_145101.jpg
Josh and I cut and Stapled chicken wire around the top, Haley painted the wire flat black, this makes it dissappear. we got it all done except the small piece above the door.
20230921_172646 (1).jpg
This pic shows how the wire dissappears when you paint it.
Josh and Haley had to go to his Mother's for dinner so we will finish tomorrow! It's always tomorrow!

I spent the day cleaning my shop, Josh and Haley came over for about four hours and helped get the heavy stuff done, Haley even swept the floor, now I can sort out the steel drops and fine tune the cleaning.
Turkey shoot season starts tomorrow so me and the Bil are going to shoot a few rounds, the group sponsoring this shoot dose a good job with it so it will be a fun morning. In the afternoon I'm going to look at a door for the cabin.

Pat was watering the banana plants and found a bunch of bananas, we didn't expect to see any until next year!
20230922_193940.jpg
They do seem to like the spot that they are in!

My wife just bought some banana trees/plants, man I wish they looked as good as yours. At this point they kind of just look like a corn stalk. Ours are new and super young though, probably a few years away from production I'm guessing.

Do the banana trees winter ok in Tennessee or you have to protect them?

I see them in neighborhoods up here in Northern VA but I think they die off or get cut back. I don't know much about them.

B, they act alot like hastas, every year they come back bigger and stronger, our big one is three years old. You only need one plant, every year they will put on new growth, there will be little plants come up around the base of the original plant, just cut straight down into the rhizome, so you get a new plant and a chunk of the rhizome with the new plant, kind of like dividing hastas! They are hard to kill.

20230922_193940.jpg
Larry in the fall they start to die back so I take a Sawzall and cut it off about 2" above the dirt and cover the stump with mulch. There is a (heart) in the center of the base, if you cut it to low into the dirt that will kill it. all of that growth is from one season.
If you don't cut it back when the first frost hits it turns into a black blob of mush that is very hard to clean up.
