I had a little time this afternoon before we went to get groceries, so I made a Can Shaker, several videos that I have watched say the paint sprays better when its shaken better!

I took a piece of chain link fence corner post and split it. Welded it to an old blade.

The pipe is so thin that a hose clamp worked great for a clamp. So I tried it out and sure enough the paint really flows good, I ran everything I painted. So next week Ill sand everything and try again!

Im trying to get myself moving again after the covid I've been moving slow.
I bought a regulator several months ago to replace a leaker, I lost it until a couple of days ago, I found it in a box of Christmas gifts that I was rapping! Anyway, I went to the shop.

I took this off of the wall and took the regulator off of it, I started installing the new regulator, but I needed a fitting so I went to the main shop to get one, while I was in the box I found a new in the box Parker regulator! I don't know where or when I got it but it is definitely a much better regulator than the Amazon special!

So I swapped them out, I added a circut going to the right for the sandblast cabinet, it has an on off sleeve valve. Now I have a line pressure gauge and a regulated gauge. I also have two more ports that I plugged, but they are there if needed.
Then I wanted to move my little truck.

It wouldn't start, I pulled the air cleaner and it was pouring fuel, so I took the carb off and checked the float level and it was way off. The carb is about one year old and has run perfect for that year, now the float is 3/8" too high? How dose that happen? I reset the float level and put it back, it starts and runs perfectly.
I hauled the trash to the dumpster and called it a day. Almost! When I got showered, Pat asked if I would help her make Christmas candy, so I just finished dipping a couple hundred candy balls in melted chocolate.
I think its bed time!

Your little mule looks really nice. If you figure out what happened to the float, let us know. I'm really curious now.

All I can figure out is that the float has always been too high.

I went back and looked its been on there a while. It must have got some dirt stuck in the needle that caused it to start flooding. Funny thing, before, when I stopped real quick it would die, now it doesn't and I had to turn the idle down almost 1/2 turn.

I had to mow today!
We had the leaves cleaned up but some wind must have brought me some more.

The grass actually needed to be mowed so just another day.

Also planted the garlic and multiplier onions, they were supposed to be planted about six weeks ago but being sick it just didnt happen.

I have a few more jobs that I need to get done outside so it looks like I have until Sunday to get done, then its time to move inside for the winter.

I bought some bike parts the other day, I have been thinking about another mini bike build, Im thinking more of a Cushman styled bike! We'll see.

I took it easy today, its Christmas eve!
I bought these lights a long time ago for the Mule, they are too small, so.

I decided to make backup lights with them.

Got these coming for the front.

I fixed my key fob. Every time I move I set off the panic alarm, after looking at it the button is taller than the case. So I put two drops of superglue on it then sanded it smooth and buffed it back to a shine. I carry my panic alarm in the other pocket.

While I was at it I serviced and changed oil in my panic button, lol.

It collects a lot of lint in my pocket so I have to blow it out with the air hose and oil it.

The weather has been in the 60s and 70s for the last couple of weeks so the neighbor dug out the spring pond and reworked the banks last , they put a lighted fountain in it also.
yep, thats a Rhino, he had it custom made, its about six ft. tall.

Because Liane doesn't do computers or smart phones I can get away with telling y'all she's 9 months to the day older than me but also want to let you know she's an honest to goodness witch. One time 50 years ago I mentioned she had put on a little weight. This is how we looked 65 years ago (her senior prom in 1961)...

...and this past Saturday. One of us has "put on a little weight." I'm 81 and she's 28 (she gave me $^%# dyslexia -- she's 82 and has yet to color her hair).

Jim, my skills with a welder are not as good as my skills with a keyboard so I went with the keyboard solution:

When I bought it, they had an optional holder made of PVC with a foam liner that allowed me to shake those little 3 ounce bottles of paint as well as the standard spray cans.

Ok! I finally did it.

I got the new stove pipe installed!

The old one was in bad shape, I installed this one all the way back on page 2 of this thread, sept. 2019.
Thought I might as well finish the facia and roof trim while I was at it!

I had to crimp the top so the cap would fit.

I have a door that goes in that spot that is painted, it will be a pain to cut the block but it would be so nice to have a door there. My plan is to put the sandblast cabinet under the carport and get it out of the fab shop.
I have the hood from a 52 Chevy that will become a roof for that door. Just need to get busy. Not sure which mess I am going to attack tomorrow!

Why did you replace it? Was it something other than aesthetics? It does look a lot nicer. I'm surprised that the OSB has held up this long.

I have an old beater circular saw with a masonry blade for stuff like that. Use a respirator and use shallow cuts. Super easy.

Larry, yep it's looks bad but its still solid, I drove a few nails in it to see if it was soft. It was one of those out of site out of mind things, I went blind to it not being done.

Prospector, I have an old beater saw that I use to cut landscaping brick! Thank you, Ill give it a shot.

I bought the steel door probably in 2019.

After this conversation, Im feeling a bit like Strouty! I think my focus this year is going to be to finish old projects that I have everywhere, I don't do resolutions, thats for drinkers!
So this is a bit of the list.


This is Pats Hoosier cabinet, its been sitting in the shop for probably four years now, waiting on me to finish restoring it.


This is the steel door for the fab shop.

The sandblast cabinet needs to go out under the carport behind the shop.

Had these powder coated for the yard about four years ago! Noticing a pattern.

The gasser pedal car, the front tires are tucked inside, the rear rims are on top of the stereo.
And probably the most important and talked about project is to get the bil's car out of what's supposed to be the wood shop.

I have collected many cabinets for the wood shop, they all need to be looked at. Thats definitely not all of the list but enough for now, I getting depressed thinking about it, lol!

Then there is the cabin that needs to be finished. Guys I have a lot to get done.

With me it's a lot of build this so I can organize that.
Or fix this so I can work on that.
That doesn't even include the things I really want to do.
Once I get home from my holiday visit, I'm starting with cleaning stuff out. It will be a head down and keep plowing effort.

I sold most of my trucks, I don't want to be know as one of those guys that was going to get around to it. I have been looking at this stuff piled up here and its time, half has to go and half has to get finished. The trikes are what has stalled most of my projects, we had a meeting last month to discuss streamlining things, I think we have a better plan for 2026.

I've gotten too many people asking for help. I don't mind once in a while but some have become intrusive.
One neighbor would offer my services and that's plain annoying.
I've learned that "No" is a complete sentence.

Tony, Im in, I have taken my first step! I admitted that I have too many projects.
I have already made two trips to the dumpster!

Leonard, that is the most aggravating thing someone can do. The minute that I retired people I haven't seen in years came out of of everywhere wanting me to help or just flat do there projects.
I have a few neighbors that all work together on different projects and that works well, but the rest need to go away.

I got the trash cans full again, I have a bad habit of putting things in five gallon buckets to be filed later, I emptied about four buckets and about five coffee cans, Im on a mission! I need to make another dumpster run in the morning.

Last trip to pigeon forge I bought these two drawer bins for 30 bucks!

A lot of the handles were bent.

I took a socket and a body hammer and fixed them.

I ran all of the drawers from one bin through the sandblast cabinet.

Then the fronts got a coat of Rustoleum, Regal Red.
The theme that I started years ago is Regal Red drawers, and dark Bronze hammered finish on the cabinets. I have a bunch of the main shop already painted. I bought both colors in quart cans so it wouldn't be as expensive!

I want to paint the shelving unit with the Dark Bronze, but that will entail completely tearing out about fifteen ft of wall units, that will happen after the bil's car leaves the wood shop. At that time there will be a total revamp of all three shops, until then Ill keep painting pieces and hopfully by summer the cabinets and bins will be painted and only the shelving will need paint. And as the other projects get done also.

I have a 5 1/2 hour drive home tomorrow. I’ll think about about everything I could be doing or will be doing.
Once I get home, I’ll likely do nothing.

You will be my inspiration. Maybe I’ll make a sign and hang in it the garage. “Do what Jim would do.”
