Did I miss the gazebo install or is the railing part of it?
Looks like some needs a new tool with cnc capabilities.

Thanks guys and gal,
This set of rails is going to the Ark to finish the front porch I did last year, I was waiting for another volunteer to finish his part so I could get my measurements. I got tired of waiting and did his part myself to get the project done.
Shorty the powder coat shop is too busy to do the gazebo right now, they are working six days trying to keep up. The next saturday they have free it will be done. I promise you wont miss it, we are all waiting for it here so we can christin it with a BBQ.

HJ, is that radius jig for your steel shop made? It looks like the middle bearing is in a slot so it can be moved closer or farther away from the other two, correct?
So you keep feeding your flat stock through and maybe adjust the middle bearing closer after each pass to tighten the radius?
What diameter are those bearings, I might try making one of those.

Is the handrail for the Ark going to PC?

Thanks Kev, I appreciate that.
Jay the two bearings are about 2"OD and the middle bearing is about 1.5"OD, they were just what was in the drawer. The middle bearing is on a slot and I do move it in a little at a time and it helps to put a slight bend in the first 2" to get you started. It rolls really easy. Yes the rails will be pc gloss white.
Don I sure will, if you ever get near Chattanooga we will cook [emoji106]

I moved Pat's equipment to the shed out back today, she is going to set up a work out room.

Moved the treadmill and bicycle, then came back for the inversion table.

Then the Daughter brought her family down from Oliver Springs to buy a washer and dryer that was in the way in the sun room. We are getting rid of the stuff in the sun room so we can finish it.
Then I went to the shop and worked on the rail for an hour.
20210307_114831.jpeg
I cut the pickets out to insert the logo.
20210307_114855.jpeg
The fit was nice, the logo stayed in place by pressure fit.
20210307_174522.jpeg
Welded it in and did a little grinding.

That's all I got today. I intend to have them done and at powder coat by Wednesday so that I might get them back by friday.

Insert looks great!

I have bad ankles and the inversion table can mess with them, so I can imagine replacement knees would be worse. I will say that you do not need to go much below horizontal to actually get some benefit, if there isn't a strap to stop you, you could easily make something up.

I took the rails to pc today and came back home and started working on the controller on the mobility chair I bought at the scrap yard the other day. It finally worked after I figured out the anti theft pattern.
20210308_142827.jpeg
It was full of water, I took it apart and blew it out with air and let it set for a week to dry.

I took both of my lawn mower batteries out and put them in the chair for a test drive.

Buddy of mine had to use one of those for several reasons... he was a big car guy... he altered the "transmission" somehow... the thing went faster than my lawn tractor on full throttle. It was hysterical watching him TOOL DOWN a dirt road on that thing. I suggested he install a seat belt or wear a helmet. Sadly... covid19 took that genius from us.

So now I know that it works I started cutting.
20210308_152919.jpeg
Got the notepad and made some sketches and got some baseline info.
20210308_165712.jpeg
I made about four cuts and had two pieces.
20210308_165707.jpeg
It was about six inches too narrow.
20210308_171931.jpeg
Started with the front axle. I had an axle from a hoveround and it was two inches lower than the titan so I used it, it only raised the chair 1.75".
20210308_191008.jpeg
I cut the cart wheels and brackets off and cleaned the frame tubes.
20210308_175631.jpeg
I did install a bushing in the frame to keep wear down.
20210308_195752.jpeg
I cut a couple of 24" square tubes and widened the chair frame.
20210308_200632.jpeg
Squared the chassis and welded it completely.

Mrs. has two of them, one inside and one outside. The outside one will move faster than a person can run. You have to be careful on them, Mrs. was at Applebee's and hit a landscape rock that found it's way on the sidewalk. Squared it up on one of the drive wheels and it locked up the wheel and she did a quick 90 degree turn. Fortunately, she was only going half speed and when it tossed her around in the chair, her hand came off the joystick and shutdown. No harm, no foul but lesson learned.

I cut 12.5" up from the floor and 12" from the rear axle forward.
20210308_213115.jpeg
I cut some gusset pieces and married the cart frame to the chair chassis in as many spots as I could.
20210308_214712.jpeg
All of the frame is welded. I will need to add a battery box and a foot rest. Tomorrow I'm going to go buy two deep cycle batteries and build the box to fit them.

Jim,
You’ll need to come down to Flywheelers with that whenever they open back up.

I’m enjoying watching this mod/ build!!!!

Jay you might be right.
20210309_172530.jpeg
I got a little more done today
20210309_172959.jpeg
All the welding is done on the chassis and the battery tray is in, I went to the store this morning and got two batteries.
20210309_172636.jpeg
This one had the most simple wiring system, it wont take long to make a couple of brackets to mount the plug and circuit breaker.

Look forward to seeing the hitch working... you need a small trailer for it... something big enough for a few lawn chairs... 4 wheels... stable...

Saw your latest Youtube... (i hit like)... my buddies was at least twice as fast as that. I would consider his ... dangerously fast. He had a hurst stubby shifter as the steering.

We were joking about putting propane weed torches on the back to simulate jet engines...

Yea yea... I had too much free time and money at one point... now I have neither.

I have about 15 hours in it so far, that includes testing and getting it running. But it went together well, no suprises. We have around seven car shows scheduled already for this summer(we do the DJ/music) so it will be my car show ride until someone offers me more than I think its worth.

Its fast enough, that video was in slow speed, it has slow and fast I'm leaving it alone, I am going to build a trailer, may have to get one of those little kids shopping carts.

That chair is shaping up nicely. It's going to be a hit at the car show with the special touches you have planned for it, for sure.

I missed a few days on your thread and of course you've got a lot done. WOW that motorized chair ex shopping cart looks like with some good comfortable padding and you go anywhere there is pavement or looks like it works on gravel too. maybe put some bigger tires on it and go off road too?

nice work on the ARK'S railing and i'm sure we'll see the Gazebo once your friends get some free time to get the powder coating on.

for all of you asking about Inversion table hanging it works and I haven't taken advil for back pain since buying and using mine 5 minutes a day (yep most days) for about 14 years now.

my 88 year old mom had back pain so bad she had an MRI for it and when the doctor offered her a shot she finally took me up on hanging and she came over and hung on mine for 5 minutes 6 days a week for a month and her back pain disappeared. that was about 7 years ago. there is a thread in FREE PARKING where we talk about it more called the upside down world where we talked more about it and here's a link: https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=293736&highlight=upside+world
