I mostly search worldwide for repairable or perfect condition since 2017 with a lot of patience -You seem to have a knack of finding rare old items in perfect condition.
Do you refurbish some of the items yourself?

Outstanding collection. Glad you were at the right place/right time to get those. Here is my collection of Hazet VW specialty tools as shown in the 1970 or so catalog.........every specialty tool from that catalog is there plus many other rare and mostly unused tools plus all of the standard metric tools with american and whitworth wrenches and sockets as well. The tool board is little "a" and in NOS condition. It was donated to the NewYork Technical institute in NJ in 1963, when VW headquarters opened there, along with a VW bug, to promote the training of mechanics for the expanision of VW dealer network. (story in Foreign car guide magazine about this) Of 61 tools only 13 were missing....mostly 1/2inch drive stuff. None of the other tools or drifts have ever been used as this sat up high on a wall. Over the years I have found NOS little "a" tools to match and complete the board. Board and tools were being thrown out...in the trash........when rescued. Im an old import parts guy (think books and hand written invoices) , mechanic and VW/Porsche repair facility manager.

I have one but out of town for a couple days.Hello, Hazet folks. Can someone with an Assistent model 166N please measure the diameter of the folding vertical column/pylon? I'm considering buying a set to retrofit a Japanese Hory Caddy (Hazet clone) and I want to check for fit.
Thanks!

Another rare one...^ You couldn't take off a bit more on that 17mm doe?![]()

I had found only one in Greece in FB marketplace for 350eur, then he dropped the price to 200 and I didn't grab it. VGC tooFound this in Phoenix last weekend, first time in 45 years of collecting I have ever seen one for sale locally. (much harder to collect Hazet in the US). $340 was a good deal . Found at an antique mall .....labeled "steam punk" priced at 495 bucks.....nice lady gave me a deal. Pic is before I loaded it into the Ranchero. Cleaned up nice. Completely original paint....no touchups etc.

Hazet Screwdriver bit set 2240N/36
Nice surprise to receive the older version with the more well proven grey bits rather than the shiny chrome ones with coloured size indicator collars. The selection of bits is good (e.g. common repeats, T27 present). Bits seem good, good fit in screw heads, but the case and bit holder (older 2239-6) are just satisfactory.

I'm trying to get an idea of the head thickness of the 863HPB bit ratchet. I can find it's length but not thickness. With a regular C6 25mm bit installed what is the overall thickness? If anyone has one they can provide the measurements for that would be great, thanks!
Maybe you all could tell me more about it.

Thank you for the thorough response! As you could imagine, I don’t own an 80s carbureted German car but I may keep this set around regardless.Hello,
Looks like a HAZET 4500/45 large carburetor set arround 1988 (the 821-1 handle is not blue anymore)
I think it is not the successor 4500/42 from 1992, with some other tools and without the here missing 4513-13 and 4513-14.
The best list of included tools of it see 1979 catalog, page 178.
Reassembling a complete set today is difficult and expensive. The HAZET enthusiast community for vehicles of that era is also considerably less generous than owners of older VW/Mercedes/Porsche/Opel models from the 1950s to 1970s.
My smaller, older, but complete 4500/9 or 4500/10 set only for my classic VWs (1970 Karmann-Ghia Coupé & 1979 Baywindow Camper):
Good luck & regards,
