Those Stahlwille sockets are from that set, small case. Also, there is Belzer SAE allen keys, Belzeryl. Those two are mine - that friend, let us call him BigM, picked up from various vendors, for me. All the rest, although he is restless, is his. Real aficionado, really in pure love with your HGod. We joked around and called oneselves Gollum... My precious

Sorry Wout, I tried with Explorer and Firefox - it looks as you said - invalid attachment. I am using Opera, and works like a charm. Pics are there, as you can open them. Also tried logged off - all the same, there they are. Been painful because I uploaded pics from phone - maybe ought to make some adjustments - there are lying couple of nice hammers of mine

My Stahlwillle and Belzeryl sets, along with my rare and relatively odd Hazets...That are Hazet sets of my friend. Looks like besides Opera it works on other browsers by thumbnails.
Sorry Wout, sorry others

Naïve question here. I don't own a smart phone. Can you email your pics to yourself and then upload.

Thanks, Wout! Though not mine, but of friend of mine... Can I ask for a favor of yours: if you did not post about 600 series - could you pretty soon? Or to send some pics to mail? Of your set? He said those wrenches are hard to find - you typed same thing... So... Good luck?

Great to see Hazet tools in use and not only displayed!

Took pictures of some of my 600 wrenches. I have 2 complete series in my 100 and 110 cabinets and others unsorted in severall Assistents. Will take some more pictures and sort them out when I have time.

At OMMP, had a quick look and have found a 24 and 17 Stahlwille socket for you, 22 not found yet.

Thanks, Wout!
About Hazet idolatry - I could swear and rest assured that there is none, besides Snap-on, that has almost religious devotion to it. My friend is master mechanic - and he barely uses his top tier tools. Guess too much love

I prefer all my (Hazet-) tools used in good original condition so I can use them instead of just have them on display...
Amazing you can still use wrenches that are 70+ years old.

Most of my wrenches and ratchet tools are Hazet and S-O and they are all used. I do treat them good though. I don't like them abused or even dirty ;)

OMMP said:
Yeah, sure, looks like down there by the wall they could catch some dust. Also, what's that fine green drawer cabinet?
Yes, I don't roll the 171's around, they are used more like wall cabinets. The place is so small its always just few steps to get the next tool. The green cabinet is Kamasa Tools, quite popular brand here.

I do have one more Assistent, modern Hazet 111L -wall cabinet and a 190 box in another location. Sorry, didn't find good photos of them. The cabinet pic is from 5 years ago, it had just arrived from Germany and I took it out of the packaging. Hope to find a vintage one some day.

There are few more pics of tools of my friend... Problem is tools are overlapping, so maybe later gonna upload them, if I find some particularly fine perspective

And this is mine... Hazet is not very disposable - so pieces and part...icles, here and there. This one was missing in a set, one managed to fulfill otherwise, so I stayed as an owner. Proud owner :bounce:

I guess Bahco and Hazet. Berndt August Hjorth & Co, which would make for Bahco. Not sure how old it is. Hazet is, very likely, pre-WWII.

Hazet, 2924, 41mm and 36mm, combination wrench.

I recently bought a Kennedy tool box full of miscellaneous tools and this wrench was in the box.

I did a little research and found three similar wrenches listed on eBay, with prices ranging from $60-$149.

The sellers say this is a rare, early, original, German, Hazet wrench, with a Pre-1965 logo, because of the lower case “azet.”

They also say this wrench is from a BMW R75 or Zundapp KS750, OEM tool kit.

But what do I know! Are they correct?

Yes, the small ‘a’ is, I believe, pre ‘65.

Zundapp / BMW tool? Yes, could be.

A guy in my village has an old Zundapp combo that’s been in his family since the war. I’ve seen the tool kit, and I’m pretty certain there was a wrench like that in it.

That one seems to be post war though, as it isn’t waffenamt marked, but does have commercial marks.

I’m sure the Hazet experts, or even those with a period catalogue, will be able to confirm the purpose from the part number!

There are similar wrenches around with two open ends, that are waffenamt marked. I’ve seen these offered as ‘Zundapp’ tools, but they’re not - they’re an MG34 tool!

The first 2 numbers are brand related, like 25xx are special VW-tools. Don't know more details about your specific tool sorry but the 'a' is indeed pre 65.

Started on the old socket box. Made it back in shape and cleaned it ruffly. Only 2 right pieces came with the box so had to go trough all my spare parts. Could find most but still a few pieces are wrong or missing. A few pieces are big A and 1 socket (30) is from another brand. The 911 I took from my VW Assistent I try to fill and the braker-bar I don't have at all. Happy with where I got in only an hour or so.

Nice work Wout! Fantastic you were almost able to make up the set!

I assume that the Hazet ratchets from that era last well, or do you tend to find them with worn teeth that slip?

Do you ever repaint your boxes or do you just clean them and leave them?

I missed out on a similar set on eBay this evening. It was all SAE sizes though, so I wasn’t prepared to spend too much!

Hi Dave

Thanks! It depends on the ratchets, this one still works very fine but lately I completely cleaned a very rough one but didn't got it working again.

I try to keep all my Hazet tools original, used and not repainted. I prefer the good used look instead of restored cause I want to use all of my tools and not display them. I have NOS tools and almost new looking bits but don't like them as much as the used ones cause it's always a pity to damage them. They're all made to use and last forever (almost), that's what I like about vintage tools. I want to have my garage like you would enter a 60/70s garage/shop. Building is to new I know that but inside it's something I want to achieve. I have a bucket of Hazet blue paint that I use to paint things that I make but normally don't use it to paint old Hazet stuff.

Found mine on kleinanzeigen and probably overpaid it but as I have most of the bits already it justified the price for me. It was full of good tools but not the right brand, age.

Good luck on the hunt, it's way more difficult to find good stuff at a descent price nowadays.

Interesting about the ratchet. I shall ensure I try before I buy..!

Unfortunately, a lot of the used Hazet in the U.K. is SAE sizes. There is some metric, but not a lot ends up with used tool dealers. There’s some Whitworth too. I buy that, as I use it more than SAE!

I understand what you are want to do with your garage. 70’s nostalgia is getting big here, mostly driven by my generation who grew up in that era. This is what’s driving up prices of, quite unspectacular, 70’s cars!

Hazet were not big in the U.K. in the 70’s. You would probably only have found them at a German car specialist.

I came to Hazet quite late on, and only because of the obvious quality of the older tools I saw. I have pre ‘65 wrenches with no noticeable wear, and no thin spots in the plating. I have a mixture of new and used, But the more I use it, the more I appreciate how good it is.

I’ll never have a totally Hazet garage, I enjoy my British and U.S. tools too much, but I like to use the wall space in my shop, and I would love one of those original Hazet 110 wall cabinets. So practical, and yet stylish!

The one ratchet that didn't worked was in a very very bad state when I got it, most are still usable.

I'm/was in a very lucky spot to find used Hazet tools because a lot of factories used them in the old days. Now budget comes before quality so you don't see Hazet very much in larger factories anymore. A lot of employees could take their trusty tools with them as they retire as some kind of goodby present and so the tools got on the second hand market when the owners got to old or passed away. I say 'was' because it's now much harder to find some Hazet at a descent price cause it's much more searched after then some years ago when I was mostly alone chasing Hazet :).
I'm an 80s kid so the 70s are not my area but I'm really addicted to the air-cooled vw's so that's why I want the 60s, 70s look in my garage.

I got into Hazet cause of the link with the volkswagens and got from one 171 Assistent to another and so on and on to almost 50 or so Assistents now.

The cabinets are really cool and in fact more practical in a shop/garage then a vintage Assistent but they are mostly 2 to 3 times more expensive then an Assistent or even more and are a real pita and very expensive to fill with the right tools. I already had a very solid stock of tools when I got my first cabinet and even then it took me years to fill it to somewhere 90% right. My 2 cabinets are both big A so a small a is even more difficult and expensive to fill. Even when I could buy a small a cabinet at a descent price, not sure I would go for it cause of all the trouble and money to fill it. Although it's very satisfying when you got it filled like the vintage box I now did.

Good luck with the hunt!

Have this blue 161-31 inlay but can't find out how it should be filled. I think it should be filled with old 610 wrenches (flat double ring) but doesn't match that good imo. Tried newer 610 and 600 wrenches all doesn't fit wel.

Was the Adventskalender from this year leaked ahead of time?

I just found this:

The price is listed to 59,90 €. It also say they will ship it from 14.08.2020, witch I doubt it, but I bought it anyway.
