This was expensive 20 years ago but a great set that use 1/4in and 3/8in ratchets.

20210901_164905.jpg

And the daily use drawer of Sockets and ratchets. Various brands but Hazet holds the lead in quantity of one brand.
20210901_164757.jpg

Daily use Wrench Drawer, Hazet dominates again.
20210901_164823.jpg

Do not use SAE very often and this set is not in the daily use tool box.

There is a lot more Hazet in the collection but I'm done uploading for today...
One last item is this 3/8in impact. Has Hazet sticker but if it was really made by Hazet they would casst the brand into the housing.
20210901_170124 (2).jpg

And yeah there was a Hazet sticker on the side too.

Think I forgot a drawer in the 169N
20210901_155316.jpg

Some hidden trays in the 169 too

20210911_193533.jpg

Couple misc tools I missed. Screw driver gets used a lot... actually have 2, thats the pretty one.
20210911_193944.jpg

And these are special combination 630
10X13mm
13X17mm
17X19mm (actually common)
but you can take apart almost any older German car with these 3 wrenches.

Wait a minute you have 4 of the same extension there!
Yeah and the top left is 3X sets of 3/8in dr sockets on Hazet rails. Was a deal I couldn't pass up about 20yrs ago. Bought everything I could from that place back then, ate PB&J for a month or 2 to pull it off.
That drawer is all spares, not my main tool box.

Hello,

not sure if you could help me...
while searching for vintage old '70s HAZET hammers,
the old catalogues did not help very much, because the images are less detailed for identification.
Anybody with photos of old 2140 hammers of the past?

Till today I have only this newer one 2140-5 (I guess from 1992-2000) - restorated.
Specials are the "Hickory" imprint with sans serif italic font and
the imprints at the head end with only a small "GERMANY" and right-aligned of the 3 lines
(today centered, bigger GERMANY, more imprints at the shaft, plus BluGuard).

I still try to identify HAZET hammers of the past...

And now an additional smaller 2140-2 (I guess from 1965-1985) - restorated myself.
Specials are the imprints "HAZET" and "2140-2" at the head in the middle without "GERMANY" and
an until now unknown symbol (triangular crown) below the "200 DIN 1041".

The issue of the unknown symbol (triangular crown) at the HAZET 2140-2 hammer head is solved:
It is from the old CADOS "Carl Döhl Söhne" (Carl Doehl sons, 1859 to ~1984, 1969 bought by Peddinghaus, which still lends its name to the CADOS trademark to some hammers). CADOS was located at Wuppertal-Ronsdorf in Germany (that's quite near the location of HAZET in Remscheid).

Thanks Kamil from Poland for the company name hint (y)

Question about series 630 off-corner drive:
I am considering a set of Hazet double box end series 630 wrenches that are online with some black Friday discount.
However I can't tell from the photos or the down loadable catalog if the 12 point broach has some feature like a Snap-on flank drive to avoid rounding off fasteners. Does anyone here with Hazet experience know if the current series 630 wrenches make contact away from the corners ? I think most modern wrenches use some form of this since the Snap-0n patent expired years ago,
However I try not to make "***-umptions."
Thanks in advance....

It's listed as having "Output: Outside 12-point traction profile" and that is what Hazet calls their "Flank Drive".
If you look at the KC Tool site it's listed under Description on the wrench.

I don't think so for the 630 series - see the simple badge on the top right:

But yes for the 600 N series - with a T-badge with "Transaction profile":

German description in the catalogue for the Transaction profile:

I picked up the first Hazet tool I have ever seen a couple weeks ago. A Hazet 916 ratchet I found in a thrift store for $8 Canadian. It is in really nice shape except a couple screws needed replacing. No rust or user marks either. I picked it up and put it back a couple times before I bought it knowing I don’t need it or will never use it. FFE1EA54-1435-4513-A773-3F16E3FA1CDD.jpeg

Some old HAZET 179 adjustable wrenches:
(179 adjustable wrenches existed from ~1930 to ~1985 by HAZET)

a) small HAZET 179 6"
the imprint is not raised or printed, but apparently etched into the metal - and include "Made in Sweden".

Because HAZET never had a factory in Sweden, I suspect the manufacturer might be "AB BAHCO"?!? (founded in 1862, short form of "AktieBolag" for public limited company and "Berndt August Hjorth & COmpany", patents on adjustable wrenches since 1892, since 1999 part of "Snap-on Inc." producing today in e.g. Spain).

Because of the "W-GERMANY" (West-Germany) I suspect it is from the 1979-1990 (the tool was renumbered later to 279 (more number space for new tool carts than) and West and East Germany joined 1989).

2022-02-18-HAZET-179-6-1976-1985.jpg2022-02-18-HAZET-179-6-b-1976-1985.jpg

b) bigger HAZET 179 10"
the imprint on the other side shows HAZET GERMANY and a small 100 near the hole.

I guess earlier 1976-1980 model than the small one,
because the trouble with "Made in Germany" used by East-Germany (Russian side, sad quality) started in the late 70s.
And pre 1976 models had a 12 point wrench on the end instead of a plain hole.

This could also have been made by someone else than HAZET itself.

A Hazet related question on this worklight I have.

20220310_073517166_iOS.jpg 20220303_120522914_iOS.jpg
Although a great light, it doesnt last long and I'm thinking of opening it up and replacing the battery with a bigger one, it probably has a variant of one 18650 battery inside. The fact that you cant use it while charging doesnt help...

Anyone else tried this?

EDIT: Someone in amazon de reviews says that he replaced the cheap 1200 battery with Samsung 50e 21700 (5000mAh). Now I wonder how to open this light non destructively?

Two old HAZET 830 DIN screwdrivers (sizes 5 and 8):
(existed from ~1969 to ~1972 by HAZET, existing beside the better know 830 with yellow handles - at 1976 there are new ones with black handles replacing both yellow and red)

These HAZET 830 DIN are compatible to the standard "DIN 5265 Form A" as the later black ones - but the earlier yellow ones not.
So something like a pilot / side kick of a product change... ;)

Hello everyone,

my next restoration project finished today after 3 month of work:
HAZET Assistent 166 TS 1967-76 (with yellow brakes)
(something like a luxury Assistent version, foldable including removable pillars, integrated lock)

2022-02-02-HAZET-166-TS.jpg2022-02-02-HAZET-166-TS-details-a.jpg2022-02-02-HAZET-166-TS-folded.jpg

regards, Rolf
That looks really awesome, do you have a reportage on how you did the restoration, very curious, especially where you sourced all the spare parts

... especially where you sourced all the spare parts
As a base I was looking for a complete one in good condition as most spare parts are not readily available.
Rust was ok, a few bumps and scratches were ok.
But not ok would be missing old Continental wheels or missing silver fillers or too rusty chrome pillars.
The only mistake I made: without a key - I was hoping to find out the key profile somehow myself  (anyone with H236?)

2021-11-08-HAZET-166-TS-keyhole.jpg (rusty original top before)

The only spare parts I have used are:
- chrome chain 31 links per pair for Assistent 166 N, from HAZET, EAN 004447
- rubber profile with (unused) black filler for Assistent 166 N, from HAZET, EAN 004270
- 2 hubcaps (from a 125mm no name wheel) for the inside of the wheels (the better original inner side is now outside, see photo)
- some new stainless steel bolts and nuts
- a big rubber mat for the inner compartments (similar to the original rubber mat above)

Everything else was bulged, stripped of paint or sanded, phosphated, primed, painted - some metal parts polished (the original rivets at the top too, the chrome nameplate was rotated because there was more rust on top) - plastic parts cleaned and carefully polished. 2 1/2 months of work in winter - while my vintage cars slept... so let's see what I restore next winter...

regards,

Hello everyone,

my new old restoration project:
Hazet 940 ratchet box from 1949-51 with chrome vanadium 12 to 22 mm sockets and ratchet 916 and extension 918

2022-05-02-HAZET-940-DIN-1949-1951.jpg2022-05-02-HAZET-940-DIN-1949-1951-closed.jpg

The 916 design looks 1:1 after a re-lettered version for HAZET of the "Blackhawk 49977" (USA, approx. from 1919) - or the even earlier "Mossberg 350" (USA Patent 1078059, 1913) - probably built under license or bought by Hazet.

I have also an earlier similar one in my collection coated in black with Hazet lettering:

Important tool at the end of the day: cheers!
old HAZET bootle opener of the 100 year anniversary (1968)
Inscriptions are on one side "1868 HAZET-WERK 1968 REMSCHEID" with a picture of the administration building entrance since about 1956 (Güldenwerther Bahnhofstraße 25-29, 42857 Remscheid) and at the other side multilingual "OUTILLAGE (French) - UTENSILI (Italian) - TOOLS (English) - HERRAMIENTAS (Spanish) - GEREEDSCHAPPEN (Dutch)" with HAZET logo and below "WERKZEUGE" (German)

but other old tools have also found their way to me

HAZET 4513-14 (1969-76)
for carburetors special wrench and screw driver with small parts holder - there was also a 13 mm version

That is too cool! I wish every adjustable wrench was like that, they have the hole back there anyway.
Garrington used to do that. Possibly before Hazet?

It actually makes more sense in Whitworth, as a complete set of adjustables gives you a complete set of box ends!

That Hazet looks to be a nice little wrench though.
