I have no inside knowledge, but employees have posted here that items priced at $0.01 were supposed to have been removed from the clearance section and discarded rather than sold at that price.

Of course, hearsay doesn't have any weight, legal or moral. If that's actually the case, they would have the check-out system put up a notice that the item isn't available for sale.

I picked up 200 stanley utility knife blades for $9. Not a bad deal if you ask me.

I used to work at home depot and i was always told that items that reach a penny have to be thrown out. But if a customer brings it to the register and it rings up a penny they have to sell it to you.

I once bought a bag of Fiery Cheetos on a whim at HD. Scanned it at the self checkout. It rang up $.01. The girl monitoring the area came over and said she had to talk to the manager. He said, "ok."

I grabbed the last four bags they had.:rocker:

Owens Corning Garage Door Insulation Kit

My store in Tigard, Or has this marked down to $19.** from $75.95; I grabbed 2 and there were at least 2 left.

I've been wanting to do this for a while but $150 for a two car seemed outrageous, I just happened to be walking down the aisle and noticed them on clearance.

I just got back from HD and found aluminium step flashing that rang up for a penny each. Normally 56 cents each. I grabbed about 50 of them. Its not marked on the shelf discounted I just got lucky after scanning them I only needed a few so I went back and bought 50 for a total of 1.12.
They are 4x4x8" galvanized.

Must be store only thing cause even on line it's $75. I could use 3 kits but not paying $200 plus.

My store in Tigard

Nice. Deals at this store are few and far between. Or any in Portland for that matter. I always see stuff pop up on craigslist a couple days after folks post about them here, which kinda peeves me off. I wonder if it's an employee flipping products on the side.

I've noticed every spring they're priced at $199. From summer on it's $219.
You would think the price would drop again at end of season but in the 3yrs I've been watching it never has. Late last summer they had a bunch of "refurb" units that appeared new for $149 but they didn't last long.

Damn, no wrenches at the price in my store. Unless the display is somewhere on an end cap.

I did see 824893 for $5 on clearance, a Zircon water level. No clue how it even works, I just have yellow tag disease.

Cant get the wrenches to pull up. Prob off the site already. Reversible or flex by chance?

If they are the ones I got a while ago no on both. I picked them up for $11 each after i saw a thread on here. Not bad for the price though.

You fill it with water about half way and you put it on a rope string or wire for use as a level. Works excellent to build piers docks walkways forms etc.

Very useful for siding a house. Use it to set the bottom row and starter strips.

Were do you find clearance items in home depot? Do they have a special section for them, or are they scattered through the store?

The wrenches were in the wrench section. Look for yellow price tags. My stores have clearance items all over and some have an end cap devoted to them with a big sign.

Not clearance but a KILLER deal,
Until 9/3/14 you can buy a Milwaukee M12 Hackzall kit for $99 or a M12 1/4" Fuel Impact kit for $169 or an M12 scanner kit for $199 and get a free M12 1/4" Impact, M12 right angle drill, M12 Multi Tool or M12 4.0A battery.

I chose to get a Hackzall and right angle drill with charger and 1 battery all for $99 plus tax

EDIT: this was an in-store deal but they had a huge sign that looked like it was corporate, and I see there are other great deals online. I wish I had waited before I bought the LED light stick for $79 last week :(

Sometimes they're where the item would normally be. Sometimes they set up a card table at the front of the store. Sometimes they're on an endcap in the middle of the store. Sometimes they hang them on a random upright anywhere in the store. Sometimes they just shove them on a shelf somewhere in the lumber.

My Home Depot is infuriating with this.

My Home Depot had the Black and Decker Matrix Impact Driver and Trim Saw for a little over $10. They work the Craftsman Bolt-On products too.
