Normally I would agree with you, it's free market capitalism. None of us go to work and give our time and skills away for free, and most of us likely aren't working for charitable organizations either. If you randomly stumbled across a good deal and flipped it for a profit then more power to you. What rubs me the wrong way is coming to a community of like-minded people who have the same interests and would use and enjoy these tools themselves, many of whom are helping each other out by offering to pick up items that other members can't find locally, and using the deal threads where others are posting info to benefit the community to go clear out all remaining stock to sell on Craigslist at a $250 mark up. You could argue that "if I don't do it someone else will," and sure, the vultures on slickdeals that will buy stuff they don't even have a use for probably will. Personally I choose not to do that. I was fortunate enough, after putting in a lot of time searching, to be able to snag some of these items for myself. I'm grateful for the input shared in this thread, because as much as I would love to have a table saw or miter saw, I can't justify full retail price when I have more pressing financial obligations. This thread allowed me to acquire some new tools that I will enjoy in my personal hobbies, not to earn money with or to sell for a profit, but just to enjoy. I did run across a few extras that I could've flipped for an easy profit, but left them for the next guy who will hopefully enjoy them. I'm not trying to get all holier than thou on anyone, I realize that there are as many different viewpoints and circumstances out there as there are people and I can't judge everyone by my single viewpoint. Hey, maybe the guys buying out the stores are small business owners who are using these tools to make a living and feed their families, or maybe they're flipping them to buy diapers for their kids or meds for sick family members. I can't know everyone's motivations in life, just offering a viewpoint of someone who looks at it a different way. I do know that I'd be a bit peeved though to roll into the third or fourth HD of the day just as the CL hawker is loading with the last four saws the store had into the back of his truck, I'd be disappointed if it was a guy from GJ. I'm not gonna be that guy.
