I bought the fil one of the Milwaukee 12 volt combo drill and driver kit for fathers day. It was $169. Has the extra battery; same set was on sale during xmas for $99.

Noticed yesterday it had been put on sale for forty dollars less; wife just happened to have the receipt. Showed it to the girl at the service desk and she "returned" my set and let me "buy" it at the new price.

I thanked her for the easy transaction!:D

Good luck I just got back the manager there said he never matches another HD price that they are all independent which is hog wash. He is the only one in my area out of 5 HD that has these. They are covered in dust and looks to not of moved for quite a while guess I try corporate.

Not really hogwash. Even though they're all under the corporate umbrella, the Home Depot's are broken down into regions and districts. Separate regions and districts routinely clearance out, close out different items based on their own distinct markets, what sells, what doesn't, etc....which is why one store can have on clearance items a, b, and c while a store in a separate district won't have those items marked down.

Price matching a different store from a different district causes that particular store to possibly lose money b/c they're letting go of a product at a lower cost than what their particular district is selling it for.

It's obviously not an ideal situation, but makes sense...but certainly not hogwash.

Hell, I wish I could get my stores to price match some of these killer deals but also understand why they can't and won't do it. Always ask, never happens and no issues on my end if they can't.

I finally got on the pro computer today! And... There was no price checker app? Is this the right computer I got on?

Also sorry for the size I'm posting from my phone in store. I'll resize it and edit it when I get home. I'm hoping someone can advise before the GF is done looking at paint colors (forever)

I would say to close out the app and then reopen it. I got that screen once and navigated out of it, can't remember at this moment the exact way though.

I've been told too that they will make stocking/clearancing decisions based upon regions &/or districts. I was told once our store is in the NW region and have since seen things similar in states near me. My store is the only one in 500 miles that has the two Dewalt tool chest in stock & all the stores in the region will not carry them in stock once gone. I too wish I could find out what other stores "clearance priced" items like this at, then I might have a better chance to get a price correction. For now, I'm at the mercy of one store & how he wants to run things unless corporate would make a statement like they had about selling items for a penny, I'd feel like I'd have a bit of a fighting chance vs being at the emotional whims of the manager!

Just got back from HD. Went originally to grab 10 or so of the $1 recip blades, after bullshitting with the hardware guy for a while, we could not find the display anywhere (showing 50 of each blade in stock). So, he walked me over to the Diablo blades and asked how many I was planning on buying at the $1 price. I told him 10 or so... He grabbed a 14 variety pack and asked me if $10 sounded good!

Great guy, bullshitted with me about guns and complimenting a new tattoo I have. Was a war veteran and very respectful.

Anyway, he said check back later in the week for the display, he will try to find it.

Found another box of $0.50 nails too!

If you click "store pc menu" it will switch your view back to what we normally see.

Like stated above click on the little windows icon in the bottom left (blue circle) the top option once the menu opens should be "store pc menu". Click on that and it should have the price checker app in the top row.

Just picked up one small and one large of the Dewalt tough system boxes at the clearance prices.

I went to the tool department and asked the associate if he could match a sale price from another HD. He asked me what it was and I showed him the screen grab on my phone of a store that had them on clearance. He asked which store it was from and I told him. He said no problem just let them know to adjust the price at check-out.

Went to SCO and let everything ring up normal. Then I let the associate know about the price adjustment and that I'd already spoke to John in tools. He changed the prices, but the discount was over $50 so it needed a managers approval. Manager showed up and the associate said John had already approved the price adjustment. Manager approved the transaction and I left.

So you don't even have to start with the manager. Talk to a tool associate first.

So what do you do when they are holding items behind the pro counter for someone's "order"? There was one Bostitch nailer left in Hooksett NH, but they wouldn't give it to me because it was "for someone's order". I even complained that the "order" wasn't paid for because it was still on their inventory. Apparently no managers were available either.

Not that big of a loss, since it wasn't even at lowest clearance price. On the sunny side, made out with a Bostitch finish nailer for $59, 3 boxes of Hitachi coil nails for $.50/each, and a 2 pack Wd40(and some other lube?) for $2.33 from Manchester NH. They showed a few other nailers in stock, but couldn't find them anywhere.

Argreed..... Most of the HD cashiers are very helpful. The manager is the only one that will kill the deal.

Enjoy your new tools

Tried to get one HD to match another in my area on the Dewalt tough boxes today, but they wouldn't allow it. Anyone have any advice?

Edit: Did find the Milwaukee M18 compact drill for $79 and the M12 screwdriver/impact driver kit for $79

I had seen it there last week with another one just like it but this week there was one left as a worker walked by i asked him what deal was he said it was a display model. I asked him how much regulary $399 he said $299. I told him thanks as i walked away he asked my what it would take for me to buy it i said $200 bucks and the rest is history. think i got a pretty good deal.

Any word if its being clearanced out? I noticed my stores had moved it off the display aisle to a different shelf. Plan on getting one soon and would love to save some dough

Don't quote me, but I believe it's on clearance status around here for $270, but that could be the R4122 model

I was just in my HD as well, and the manager couldn't find the dollar blades. He said they must have sold out. After walking away, I got onto the PRO computer and looked...It said 50 metal and 50 wood were in stock at my store....How do you know if a night stocker didn't do their job? Look to where the "location" of the item should be. My PRO computer showed nothing where it should show an aisle. So, I grabbed the manager and showed him. He confirmed they were supposed to have them...After 10 minutes of looking, he couldn't find them. So, he took my number and said he'd call tomorrow and let me know if they found them. I'm crossing my fingers. I use those metal blades like water at work.

.... I really wish there was an admin that could delete the whiner posts and keep this thread about the deals. I shouldn't be made to feel bad for helping others.

I've watched this thread and checked it out a few times over the last few days. Currently, it's on page 156. I will try to go back through the last ten pages tomorrow and take out the fluff to get it cleaned up. If I don't get to it, send me a PM to remind me.

As much as I'd like to, I can't remember everything.

So, the tip about closing and reopening the Pro computer app worked a charm. I got the price checker to show up. Me and my GF spent quite a while browsing through it, figuring out how it works, and waiting as it got a million server errors. Eventually we figured out how to filter by clearance and then looked through all the clearance items in the store. We got a hit! Even though it may not have been a penny it was still a hell of a deal:
aIVlpOW.jpg

And, they had 2 in stock! So we went to the rafters above the tools and... Nothing. Then we got an associate and he said they were in "No Home". So we went to No Home with him and he looked around for a minute or two and said "Sorry... I don't see them. I can give you a bit of a break on one of the other sets but those other ones are probably just an accounting error. They aren't here."

My first thought? Some other GJer must have been here recently! So I went to the carpet rolls and the jobsite boxes but they were all empty... We spent probably an hour combing every inch of that store trying to find those impacts but to no avail. My GF had a roller coaster of being bored, to interested because the computer is cool that it shows all clearance in store, to excited when hunting for the impacts, to sore saying her neck hurt from looking up for an hour. I'll try the local store tomorrow to see what's there but I think I get the idea of what we're doing at least so that's a plus!

Also there was a mystery Milwaukee bottom box there that had a sign on it that said "Hold for 5/X Event. Memorial Day" I don't remember what day memorial day weekend was. It wasn't in there if you searched for Milwaukee or Chest or Box or anything, but if you directly entered the SKU it showed 499$. I'm suspicious that maybe it is supposed to be some deal since they don't even carry those at this store.

Also also, I was wearing a bright orange shirt, and it almost seemed as though all the employees left me alone because they thought I was another employee helping my GF find something in the Pro computer. The past few times I tried to use it they kept bothering me and trying to do things for me and saying they would look stuff up themselves. Today I was on that computer for an hour across a few sessions with not one peep from the employees. Might be a useful tip for someone out there.

Same here. No blades out and when I asked where they were I was taken to an isle to look up at the rafters where there they sat. When I asked to buy some I was told they may get them out in a couple days. He went on to tell me the VP just went thru the store last week & was pissed about the product up in the rafters.

Later tried to buy the last Dewalt tool chest bottom, the *** mgr would not even consider a price match, even with the photo printed out of the $88 price. The *** mgr was insistent on finding a store on the computer which matched the photo I brought in, of course "I couldn't remember what store it was from" and since she couldn't match the exact price the witch wouldn't budge.

If the computer says "2" there's 2 in the store. Either not where they are supposed to be, or someone stole them. Heck, every nailer I bought the other night said 0 in the store. One even said -1. In my store, milwaukee is spread over 3 aisles all the way to the door latch aisle. My manager told me tonight they had a milwaukee event where the got 3 pallets of Milwaukee tools...he said they couldn't sell a single one, and milwaukee refused to buy them back. In a few months, you know what that means...!

I spent several hours in my local store on the computer. It takes time. One assoc. walked up behind me and claimed I wasn't suppose to be on the computer and even told me to go back to the home screen and go to homedepot.com LOL

I realized later that day he proably wanted me out of his store. They had several Dewalt tool chests.

I did find some 4 gal. backpack sprayers for $17, Paslode powermaster plus framing nailer for $63 and a brinley 17 cu.ft tow behind utility cart for $57 (sku# 940793)

I don't understand why Home Depot makes it hard to find clearance stuff. Sure, they have their clearance racks, but they're usually only stocked with ****. All of the good stuff is usually hard to find, such as up in the rafters.

Most stores WANT to get rid of their clearance stuff.

If you're in NH/ME/MA I could help you out, got 15 boxes from the stores and who knows how many I have being shipped.

Too bad shipping costs so much

USPS flat rate boxes are very good for heavy items like boxes of nails. give them a look it might make it worth it.
