Wish I could actually use it.. I need a 26"

If I still lived in Connecticut, I would come up there and take those off your hands:lol::lol:

I was planning on making a mount underneath my workbench and putting a few there, to have a few drawers under the bench.

Arghh, my store still has all 4 of the Ridgid grinder 2-packs at $59.00. In all seriousness, does anyone know when they dropped to $59 and when they're likely to fall again? I realize such forecasts are not completely accurate, but would be nice to have a ballpark timeframe.

As for not showing your cards, one cashier asked me today where I always get all these coupons (used a Lowes 10% on $450 of flooring). I just played dumb and said I don't get coupons very often. I couldn't believe he remembered me, he last helped me use a 20% HF coupon back in April!!

Just got back from my HD zero yellow tags. Found this stores hiding spot i think. one big area on top shelf with everything on that shelf had tags on it that said DNI do not inventory. Could not find anyone to pull it down. And no orange ladders to check it out myself. Will be going back tomorrow talking to manager. they had dewalt, milwaukee.ryobi, and other various names up there.

That's just display boxes, cases etc

So are penny things like this coming up when you FILTER for clearance? Someone said penny items don't always? Did you find this by filtering, or searching for the specific item/SKU on a hunch?

That one popped up just by searching for "Milwaukee". Usually penny stuff doesn't show up like that

I was able to use a HF coupon for a $245 item and came up with a discount of $49 off, the cashier told me that there is a threshold for discounts. If a cashier discounts a regular item for a coupon or promotion and the total discount is over $49.99, they have to have a store manager come and approve that discount.

Just got back from my local HD -- nothing. It's really pathetic that I've never been able to find a single deal in my home HD store and have to drive to the next state to find anything.

I went there looking for DeWalt 20v-Max battery packs. Regularly priced at 99.00, INV=4. Supposed to be in the endcap, but not one to be found ... just a big empty shelf above the price tag. I'm thinking some employee knows that they're listing on the first clearance level, so they've already hidden them while they wait for the price to drop to a penny.

Interesting idea there... it seems that the nasty employees who are intent on stealing the deals are finding all sorts of ways to hide things. If you find anything in the DNI rack that doesn't have DNI written on the box then it doesn't belong there. If it has a clearance SKU on it, chances are that you've found one of their hiding places.

It's posted at their customer service desk. Id still reference it if I had to. I doubt it's there to show you its for grocery items only
Did you not read it? It specifically states "grocery items" in several spots.

I can tell you that there was 1/2 or more of it with no DNI tags on it. And they had 3 of the 30 gallon plastic totes up there also. Who knows what is in those.

I would think that they wouldn't hide stuff in such obvious places, that are inventory-sensitive. Not obvious hiding places to consumers, but I'll bet store managers are trained to watch the DNI areas, or any of the other rafters. I'm betting the employees have some decent hiding spots in the low-traffic areas and shelves.

Kinda like cops are trained to look at the small decals on your license plates. They can spot an expired one from a mile away amongst a couple dozens cars in traffic, where those of us that don't need to watch out, rarely ever even notice them at all. It's all in what they're trained to look for.

And to make it more intriguing there was stuff behind the DNI stuff also tagged and not tagged. a lot of that also still strapped up. Mix it all together and confuse the eagle eye. You know what they say best place to hide is in plain sight.

Just got 3 husky 27" intermediate chests for a penny each. Got 1 with a bunch of other stuff, made it out no problem. Went back in for the other 2, paid with 2 pennies at SCO, got my receipt, then the SCO lady tried to stop me. She said "we can't sell these for a penny", took one out of my cart, and started scanning it to find the last clearance price. I then got pissed and started yelling at her, saying they have to sell it for whatever it scans as. She called over some department manager who tried to stop me also. I threatened to call corporate, and she called the store manager. Within 15 seconds she said "have a nice day" and I left with them.

****, I forgot to tell you guys the best part. After she said that I have to pay the last clearance price, I yelled "I just paid 2 cents for that. I'm not paying a penny more!"

Your not kidding about the decals, and a burned out break light great reason for a traffic stop.

Hijack: Can anyone here explain how HD delivery works if you buy something big like a 42" toolchest but you're not driving your truck? I looked at the HD site but didn't have any luck figuring it out. Thanks.

I think the only thing that they will offer you is "truck delivery" for some ridiculous price ($75 I think) or rent their truck for whatever that costs.

I think that truck delivery for $75 is for internet orders, right?

Someone made a comment about $20 for delivery within 50 miles when you buy something in-store. Is that right?

I'm also wondering what the delivery options are when you buy building materials in-store, and if you could use that type of delivery option on a toolcart purchase.

Because of the risk of getting burned, anytime I need to purchase a large item at HD (most of the time I'm in my commuter car) I have them deliver for $20. I don't even mess with renting their truck. They use their rental trucks to deliver within 50 miles.

^^ could you explain how this is done?

This is true I have a girl that works full time with us but works PT at HD, she says they can give you a max of 50 dollars off, anything over needs a manager override

So long story short I was told during my hunting adventures this weekend that I was not allowed to use the computer that was turned around facing the public at the Pro desk. She said it's a security issue.

So this morning I called corporate to let them know and ask what the policy was about computer usage. I was told that, since the security breach last September, they have cracked down on allowing the public to use the computers; and it is the manager's discretion whether or not they want to allow a customer to use the computer (well that makes perfect sense to me). When I inquired whether they were going to be eliminating the "Public" domain on the computers, since they don't want the public using it anymore, he replied "I'm not sure; IT handles the computers". We kept up the verbal jiu jitsu for a couple minutes, circling back to all the inconsistencies in his statements; no use.

Going forward, I will make sure to ask if I can utilize the computer, where it is not explicitly called out that it is for public use. FWIW, I have found that by mentioning that you're a contractor looking up stock for a job coming up and making an online order, they usually have no problem letting you use them.

Happy hunting!

If you like attention, use the pro desk computers. If you want to be discreet use a computer somewhere else in the store.

^This

I've never received bad attention, but maybe half the time someone will say to let them know if I need any help. I've been going later in the afternoon when nobody is there and using one of the computers in windows and doors when and I've never even had anyone stop to ask if I need any help.

The one time someone gave me a hard time I just said I was a contractor. Prove otherwise, or leave me alone. They left me alone.
