If anyone is near the Taylor, MI store you may want to stop in and check for the M18 fuel impact driver on clearance for $58.03. Pro desk in my local store showed them as having one on hand but it's too far for me to drive.

I finally got back to the Bloomington HD to hunt for the Milwaukee Impacts that were there last time but unfindable. I walked every aisle of that store many times and spent a few hours hunting. I came home with some lightbulbs... Sadly I just don't think they are actually there. My guess is the tool area employeey who told me they were gone after searching for like 15 seconds and that he was gonna zero out the inventory since they are "gone" probably bought them both himself. I did see a single pack of 44 cent nails that was strangely just out on a folding table near the pro computers. It was labeled with a 44 cent sticker on it. I didn't buy it though because I don't have any air nailers since I haven't found any of the deals on them either. One other interesting thing is, I noticed a lot of Milwaukee sets were on new clearance since last time I was in there so maybe they are gonna start coming down too nation wide? Here are the stickers:

Also, if anyone needs one they do have one Milwaukee bottom tool chest in stock. It's full price but I saw other people saying they couldn't even get them anywhere else so if you need it Bloomington IL has one as of Saturday.

I look in the Bloomington store randomly and they seriously never have much on clearance. A couple dollars off a few useless tools and a few things out of the plumbing aisle.

So long story short I was told during my hunting adventures this weekend that I was not allowed to use the computer that was turned around facing the public at the Pro desk. She said it's a security issue.

So this morning I called corporate to let them know and ask what the policy was about computer usage. I was told that, since the security breach last September, they have cracked down on allowing the public to use the computers; and it is the manager's discretion whether or not they want to allow a customer to use the computer (well that makes perfect sense to me). When I inquired whether they were going to be eliminating the "Public" domain on the computers, since they don't want the public using it anymore, he replied "I'm not sure; IT handles the computers". We kept up the verbal jiu jitsu for a couple minutes, circling back to all the inconsistencies in his statements; no use.

Going forward, I will make sure to ask if I can utilize the computer, where it is not explicitly called out that it is for public use. FWIW, I have found that by mentioning that you're a contractor looking up stock for a job coming up and making an online order, they usually have no problem letting you use them.

Happy hunting!

Also if you have a sales tax license of any kind register w HD for tax exempt status. I'm not saying to use it for that illegally, but you can log on and "manage" your account anytime, theoretically. Just tell 'em you need to work with your sales tax profile. If they later see you looking up product, just say you're researching an upcoming bid.

Same policy in Canadian stores but staff that have been there a bit have the managers username and password written on a piece of paper by the cash. More junior staff phone them and are given the number via phone.

This is true I have a girl that works full time with us but works PT at HD, she says they can give you a max of 50 dollars off, anything over needs a manager override

In thinking about this further............the hacking excuse just doesn't make any sense. HD corporate (based upon the customer review on each receipt) clearly wants people using computers or "kiosks." If HD is truly so afraid someone can hack their system, IT should get off their *** and make it less hack-able.

But as a company to just live in fear of potential hacks is ridiculous, and if you follow that logic out NO company would EVER allow any customer to use anything, including their own website, and none of us should EVER use email, cell phones etc. Now while we're being afraid of things that COULD happen, I was going to drive into town today but I think I'll just stay home forever 'cause I could wind up in an MVA (or MVC if you're politically correct).

Gaahhh! Going to hide in closet with tin foil hat now. Everything is scary!!

Picked up a Dyson DC65 today for $150.

Box was beat to heck but everything was inside and still wrapped in plastic.

Was thinking about flipping it but the wife actually wants to keep it!

You guys reselling these things?

I just returned the whirlpool tub I had gotten for 180.00 because I was tired of moving the darn thing around....no bites from Craigslist.

I can only imagine storing boxes and boxes of nails for a while.

Lol yea but hard to go wrong with 40 to 50 times profit. Could even sell them at $5/box and you're still making 10x profit. They retail anywhere from $30-$60 per box. Some of the stainless siding nails I found retail for $80 or more.

My time is not worth the hassle of buying up nails and dealing with reselling them. I would prefer working in my garage than dealing with Craigslist or other deals.

Just got my delivery call from Estes. "Are you available for curb-side delivery? We can drop them at the end of your driveway, but we can't go on your property."

Good thing I have a short driveway.

My store's got the Bessey vacuum-mount swivel vise for $9.90, down from $29.97. Had several at least, hadn't been moved to the clearance end cap yet.

No, I didn't get a SKU...........because honestly I didn't care enough. Here:
http://www.homedepot.com/p/BESSEY-2-3-4-in-Swiveling-Vacuum-Base-Vise-BV-VB/204986244

I just don't know what I'd do with it. I don't trust the vacuum mount one bit and it's way too small and light duty to do anything but crafts or jewelry. Everything I do involves BFH and hot works.

edit: also (and apologies if this has been mentioned here) the M18 4.0 batteries are down to $79.00. Really a pretty damn good deal for the 4.0's. It's interesting to me how the 4.0's were "da bomb" like a year ago and now they're "so yesterday" with the 5.0, 6.0 and upcoming (huge) 9.0's. The only other place I found 4.0's this cheap was on ebay but almost all appeared to be take-outs from kits.

As long as you sell them all.

The nails are good because they dont take up a lot of room, but you have to sell a lot of them.

The bathtub I had was good because there is only one to sell, but sucked because it was too big.

Im finding a lot of the clearance stuff I read in this thread and eventually buy from HD actually ends up as "keepers" at my house.

Hi. My name is Chris, and I have a tool collection addiction.

Here we go again. This is the last of them. Got dropped off in a Ryder truck. At least this one had a lift gate.

^ ^ ^ ^ You . . . REALLY **** !!!

At all the local HD's around here, they still have GripRite nails on the shelf at full price.

Good luck with your ready-made PT business of selling nails. It's a slam dunk business model, as not like nails not going to be needed in future !!

Are those the 3 inch 28 degree ones? I've sold about 30 cases of staples and nails the past two weeks. Good profit to be made, Flat rate USPS boxes, are the way to go, and bundle them. bundling them makes them heavy I just shipped 3 cases of 3 1/4 x 120 nails in one flat rate box.... the thing weighed 58 lbs. but will make 40 dollars profit after its all done. at 50 cents a case bundling them is the way to go. still have about 80 cases left, but that one sale paid for all the ones I have left to sell. It is alot of work but it will be worth it.

Good info! I was hoping they would fit in a flat rate box! I have 85 boxes coming and about 15 are spoken for at 20 bucks a box just from word of mouth. I'm excited because our furnace started acting up this winter so I plan to replace it with the profits!

Lol had my first bad experience at the computer today. Was checking some prices in the door section and a lady walking by snapped "Do I know you?!" I said "Nope, I'm just checking a few prices" and she said "Do I know you?" again. and then proceeded to snap at me that I wasnt allowed to use the computer. So I pointed out the public section and she then said well I wasnt allowed to use it back here and could only do it up front. She didnt look happy and said I was the second person today that she had to run off from the computer.

Went back up front and by then the front computer was open again so I did my thing. Walked back to the middle aisle with my sku's on my phone and she didnt say a word to me.

Left a Husky Impact in a badly beaten up box on the shelf for $20.03 and couldnt find the dyson DC65 anywhere for $150.

At another store they had a display model Milwaukee Fuel impact with one battery. Missing a case, battery, and charger and they would not discount it any from the $58.03 price. They said it was already on clearance so nothing more could be taken off. I told them I had just purchased a complete set a week ago for $58.03, so why would I pay the same price when its missing more than half the stuff! Probably still should've bought it at that price, but couldnt bring myself to out of principle.

Just get ready for the ladies at the post office to start hating you, after they pick up the box :D

You should have had them look in the DNI. I'm sure the case with the charger and battery are still up there.

I looked everywhere in the overhead on the tool aisle and the next two aisles over but didnt see it.

Tool guy thought he found it but pulled down a non-fuel impact case.

Ordering freight when you don't have a loading dock can be a real PITA. I feel your pain -- my back still hasn't recovered from the last time that the Conway truck rolled up to my house carrying 100 buckets of Reef Crystals sea salt, 50 lb each. Of course, the two guys who promised to help me unload arrived after the truck had already left.

Oh yeah, before I go -- YOU REALLY ****.

This morning I went into a store about 45 miles from home. Was hoping to pick up a DS150 as I noticed the price check app in my local store said they had 2. They did indeed have 2 but they were full price. I didn’t take a picture of the clearance price so I decided to not even try and haggle.

In the price check app I found a 28pc Husky Combo wrench set that I wanted. App showed 2 in stock and a price of $14.00. I couldn’t find any and neither could the associate that helped me. He said he was going to look into it, took my name and number down. Who knows if he’ll actually follow up but it’s worth a shot.

Thought I scored on a Bostitch nailer I found in the price check app. I found the box way up in the rafters, but had someone go get it for me and it was empty.

At both this home depot and my local one, there’s a computer facing out at a desk, with a chair for the public to use. I have used both of these numerous times, as well as the one today that I sat at for quite a while looking for deals. I have not once been bothered, not even asked if I needed help.

just a heads up to everyone those husky 500ft-lb impact wrenches are garbage. I figured for 20.03 I can't go wrong considering it was usually $80. Didn't have real high expectations, but man was I dissapointed. Torqued a lug nut to 150 ft-lbs and it would not break it loose. Total chinese piece of ****.
