Yes! Let's start buying everything that's even remotely on sale and then begin bombarding every HD with demands to price adjust the CLEARANCE item we bought when the price drops. I'm sure this is going to end well.

I'm telling you....this forum is literally our own worst enemy.

yup...makes one wonder why you would post any deals if at all here...
no wonder spn hasn't posted as much as before of his killer finds.

Had a somewhat unpleasant experience today.

Went to a HD near my friends house. Found a bunch of Homelight cordless shears and trimmers that were pennied out last week. They were sitting right there on the shelf in plain view with the retail sticker price. Went through sco fine. But I was stopped at the exit door by some employee that jumped out of nowhere. He blocked my cart and started to inspect my purchases. Then another employee came over and was whispering to the 1st employee to examine the barcodes on the box. They were trying to math my receipt to the barcodes. And the employees were even attempting to peel off the barcodes, but of course it wouldn't since it was printed on the box. None of the emloyees could believe that I purchased the items for a penny. They said ti is not possible and they thought I was sticking on fake barcodes on the box to make it ring up so cheap. They went to scan the boxes themselves and were shocked. I finally told them I don;t have time to play games, gimmie back my stuff I am outta here.

Normally I would make a stink about the way I was treated, physically being blocked from exiting the store. But I didn't. Because last year the manager at that store told me never to come back after i bought a bunch of tool boxes for 1 cent.

I had the same **** happen a couple months ago when the bosch lasers pennied. LP got in my face and accused me of scanning some phony barcode and tried peeling the upc off, i told them to scan it themselves and it came up a penny. They tried to walk me to the back of the store. I didnt feel like going to the home depot detention center so i told them if you dont want to sell it for what it scanned for then fine. One of the few times i have called corporate. Im not down for being treated like a criminal over something they have full control over. I didnt leave it on the shelf and i didnt price it at a penny.

I know what you mean. Many of those employees don't even know their own inventory system and automatically think people are swapping out bar codes.

LP actually physically came into contact with me thats why i called corporate. I ended up getting the items and now the manager tells employees to let me have penny items if i go through checkout with them, but i still am not fully comfortable going in that store. But when i do i joke with the manager and ask if im gonna get tackled on the way out with my penny items.

This weekends haul:
5e0148b84517d157d7289be3783b2130.jpg

The boxes tagged 572320 are Leatherman Wingman's and the battery was from a return/rebuy I did with the one m12 kit I had that I forgot to get the battery for.

Some interesting anecdotes:

The Paslode case in the picture is different than the one I posted about a few days ago. This one had no jacket but had the CF325li sku (473484) written on the side in several places. I asked to speak to the store manager and she showed up with the hardware lead. I explained what I wanted to do and then we walked over there and they got it down. The hardware lead opened it up and said that this is the one they had used around the store every once in a while. I took a quick look inside to see if everything was there. I showed both of them the pic on my phone of the PCA showing last clearance price and said I'd be willing to pay $60 since it as used. They both looked everything over to make sure it was the same model that was in the picture. After they determined that it was the same model I was claiming it to be, she countered with $75 and I accepted.

After I got home, I discovered that I had bought the finish nailer (343546) and not the framing nailer. Since the case had 473484 written on it several times, I didn't give much thought to making sure it was the right model. I'm just going to resell this, so the only thing I made sure of was that the case had an orange nailer, battery and charger. It's amazing that both the store manager and the hardware lead could have inspected the contents of the case and both came to the conclusion that this was the the same model that was in the picture I showed them.

On Saturday, I went back to the store with the Paslode 325Li that I posted a picture of and talked to the manager. Made an offer of $80 and he acted like he was going to go for it until he checked the sku on his phone. Turned out to be a recon that was still in the system with a price of $225. He wouldn't go past $175, so I passed.

When trying to do the return/rebuy they had some older guy manning the CS desk alone who appeared to be out of his element. I explained what I wanted to do and he fumbled around for a bit trying to figure out the proper way to do a return/re-buy. After a few minutes he just removed the security tag from the battery, handed it to me and said "I'm sure there's a really easy way to do this, but I don't know it and don't really care to learn it. So, **** it. There you go, your all set." I told him thanks and I was on my way.

Call and order it, if you order online you will get the HD.com price which is full retail, not whatever clearance price it currently is.

Don't keep those faucets for yourself, they get horrible reviews. The 4" spread marquettes get very good reviews, the 8" spread marquette get the reverse.

... And why wouldn't you go to the store to buy it instead of will call. The pricing online and at the store are two totally different things. I do not believe they will do a price match.

U can call the store and place the order over the phone at the price of the store. They will transfer you to the head cashier and they will ring it up. With that being said, they have to find the product before doing this. If it is something remotely good deal the product has a tendency to "not being able to be found" and then you don't get it. I've seen this happen many times when I worked at HD as well as a customer. Best bet is go in store and buy it yourself.

when you mean call and order, do you mean call the store or the 1-800 number?

Call the store and have them get the item to the customer service desk because you want to buy it. Make sure when they ring it up that it is the current clearance price.

A friend wanted one of those homelite electric blowers and his mother was going to be at their vacation house that weekend. I called the store in that area which was the only one I could find that still had them and we the clearance price of $8.33, the store confirmed the price over the phone. Online when I pulled up the blower and that store to see who had stock or whatever, the blower on hd.com was $32.97 full price.

Obviously they are not going to sell you pennies over the phone, they'll give you last clearance, etc.

When you buy it over the phone, they'll look up your name or phone number when you pick it up, it will be at the customer service desk unless it's too big. If you give them an email address, I think they can email you a receipt after the phone order too.

thank you. i know the exact aisle where they're stashing them. appreciate the info
I was referring to an employee wanting the deal and not being able to actually find it. If it's a good deal the employee might keep it for themselves (or call friend to come pick it up for them) and just say they couldn't find it. That's why I say if it's a remotely good deal, go in store yourself.

yeah, if they are stashing them for some reason because it's that good of a deal then they may not be found, etc. The things I've called on were not things I thought people were hiding.

Also the people that are buying stuff at higher clearance price, you could be shooting yourself in the foot. I don't care to fight over what I'm about to say because I KNOW I'M RIGHT. The store manager sets the time frame on all clearance items (with the exception of recalled items and such). If you buy clearance items the store manager can see that a bunch sold so let's keep it at this price point for longer time period. They want to maximize their sales for their bonuses. Now you might have a manager who just doesn't give a ****, but when people are blasting all over the Internet that this is what they r doing it is only a matter of time before more catch on.

There r reasons why more and more products are not going straight to 06 level and are starting at 00 levels now. They are catching on and the managers are getting tired of corporate riding their *** on sales.

Rant over.

Tried the ego battery adjustment and was shot down this morning..probably depends on store or whatever, but was told new policy is 2 weeks for a price adjustment to lower price or offer. To those doing .04, .06 then hopi g to adjust you might not like what they tell you when you go to do it. And this was a store that that told me about 6 weeks ago you had 90 days. And receipt was from this store. Didn't even get to fact it's a penny now, but I'm sure that would have killed it.

Read my post.... Not all stores are the same. The ones that drop like you r stating are the managers who "don't give a ****." This is setup as the "default time line" that is easily overturned by a store manager if they choose to. Just because a couple stores, or even majority stores, in your area do this pricing doesn't mean that all stores do it. Like I said I'm not going to argue, but there is a reason why everything is changing on what seems like on a weekly basis.

Lets get back to deals.

I will say I've noticed difference schedules for items. Most stores these delta faucets are pennies. At least 2-3 stores in the same district is off by like a month. The clearance tag is 3/17 vs 2/something. And all at .00 levels. So something is up with those stores.

Some of us don't have the luxury to let/find product at a lower clearance price point. Most times if you want the item you will have to pay that .06 price to secure the product. I understand that managers like this obv. But it's not like people are doing it to screw over your side job.

On another note, has anybody run into these? I have seen them on hand in a couple PCA's but have yet to actually find them. I am not sure how old they are but have just recently started to see them.

So you're wanting to buy 4 compressors at .06 pricing (they haven't even hit .06 yet anyways) and then you "can't get around to picking them up" until they hit .03 pricing. And not even leave the house to put them on will call. Are you kidding me?

He's trying to will call 4 compressors to flip, not one for personal use, so he's actually got the same side job.
