does anyone have a new paslode finish nailer that they would be willing to trade for a new paslode framing nailer? we could each just pay for shipping and do an even swap?

does anyone know roughly what it costs to ship one of the framing nailers?

You're kidding me aren't you?? When you guys are waiting for someone to NOT be at self checkout, have the HD corporate office saved on your cell phones - it's going a bit far don't ya think??

And you're not saving anything from the dumpster, you're "saving it" from going to a liquidation auction, or being donated in some cases - because the shelf space has become more valuable then the products on it, OR because someone from REGIS did inventory and missed the overstocked items. The products remain in the system so HD has a record of "yes we did sell this, and here is all the info", and they are believed to NOT be in the store, which is why some items are saved in the local system as a penny in your store, and can still be full price in mine. Not all stores stock the same items, and the penny is the sign that "we had it, we cleared out the last few we had in stock, and NONE should be here, and it wasn't an online only item... They only time you'll see a penny item being advertised on the shelf as such - is when it costs more to ship them out that it would be to just sell them off and it's something that people just don't buy, like a gas cap or fuel filter for a tractor. They don't THROW AWAY tools.. You can feed yourself whatever B.S. you need to justify it to yourselves.. Would be nice of ONE person said they were at least donating some of the items or profits. - but we all know what ain't happening.. So - continue one with your plundering and ask yourself if you'd do this to the local hardware store too.. But - you work hard, you deserve it, and there's nothing wrong with it since it's the "stores" policy after you time your checkouts and have to make calls to HD corporate threatening how the manager isn't following retail laws and letting you leave for what the items ring up for..

Sounds like someone is angry they can't find deals.

I don't call unless I absolutely have too either. Either for an a hole manager or something I really want. The policy is what it is and it's not our fault they aren't cleaning the shelves like they should be. It's not like one employee is responsible for a whole store, they have departments for a reason. If they can't manage one department and get rid of penny items then they better never expect to get higher in HD. An item here and there is one thing but when you stumble on entire shelves of penny items such as when I bought about 15 or 20 of the Belkin surge protectors, there is an issue. That department is like their "own store" they need to manage it as such. It's not my job to hold their hand in everything they do. I am sure they are trained in what the do and as the manager I spoke to said, there is no excuse. They have multiple reports they have access to to obtain penny SKUs and remove them. Not my fault...

I guess when I find penny items I should be going to find the department head and telling him so he can remove them...

IMO it's not calls to corporate that will stop all this, it's going to be employees getting wiser and more serious about their job and removing items when they should.

On a side note, got denied a "store use" blower tonight that was outside and not painted. Apparently they don't like you being outside in the winter either. One door was blocked but one was open so I went and made a round and saw the blower so I went back inside to grab a cart and back out to get it. After I had it loaded some guy came out and asked if I wanted to buy that and I said ya I would. When he saw what it was he said oh that's store use and denied any HD using orange paint to designate store use items when I asked about it not being painted. I didn't argue as I didn't have a leg to stand on since it wasn't tagged or anything so.

Later this same guy accused me of shopping the "b shelves" instead of the floor when I asked him to get something down. Asked what I was looking for and said just deals. He said people usually shop down here, not up there. Then he tried to pry penny out of me but I didn't give in. Just said clearance stuff to which he replied they have end caps for that.

I should have said well, I know how well you guys remove clearance items so I'll just keep shopping the overheads, thanks...

The way some of these guys treat customers is crazy IMO.

This store had the most employees I had ever seen. They were following me around everywhere I went. From the blower to the door knobs and everywhere in between. SPN has pissed off too many people at this store haha.

Never found a penny deal but I don't buy to resell. I just try to purchase the stuff that I need. Don't really like to hoard stuff.

No, I just don't make a part time job out of being a vulture.. (Nor do I need to) It's not even like you guys buy stuff just for personal use. It's with the strict intention of leaving with as much as possible, no matter what it is, just to re-sell. Maybe one of you can start a thread of how may penny priced items/power tools got donated to habitat for humanity or animal shelters. You'd think someone that spent a weekend "masking his purchases" (that's how it was described a few posts back wasn't it?) could throw a charity a door knob or two. I'd like to see how many post go up in that thread - since you're such an advocate for people getting something for nothing.. But keep convincing yourselves this isn't taking things too far.. Maybe I'm just not as desperate as some..

My Jack broke last week. Picked up the 3000lb aluminum low profile racing jack for $39. They had about 8 left. My car should be much faster now.

Just me, or most of this thread is now pictures of peoples penny hauls, and talk of cashiers throwing a fit over penny items, doing what they are told to do by managers? Any deals?

In response to your "holy than thou" attitude let me offer you my thoughts, since you seem so free with your condemnation of others. I am one of those individuals who does not resell, but buy items that I find, both penny items and those at the .03 level for myself, my family and friends. And yes, when I have been treated badly as a customer trying to buy a penny item I have called Corporate. But again, the issue itself is not the denial of the penny item, it is due to the fact that these employees, managers, and such outright lie to the customer, deny the corporate policy, and fail to do their jobs correctly. If they spent as much time as cleaning the shelves of the penny items as they do trying to get over on the customer when they try to purchase these items they would go a long way in stopping the practice - much more so that just being total ***.

As I have stated in the past, it is kind of nice to be able to give to others when I find cheap items that can be used by all concerned. And as for giving to charities, I have found 8 animal cages for a penny each, all of which got donated to my local Human Society - the same place that I have received two rescue cats from.

Now I am the first to say that I am envious of SPN, GMC and others who find some of the nicer items, and I don't really care if they choose to resell them to fund their other hobbies or further support their families. What I do find offensive is the fact that you troll this site passing on your moral judgment of others. If you don't like what you see, then don't frequent the site.

Danville, VA HD had one left, it appeared to be a display model (no box on the outside, kinda sun faded orange on the case). I was there for LED bulbs, saw it because of this thread but I didn't need it so I didn't get it. It only had a tag on the side with the SKU number on it and was located on a clearance end cap in the middle.

Ill admit I try to resell some stuff, but I have never once gotten corporate or an MOD involved. If the stuff rings up a penny then so be it. I actually aim for the .03 level because it seems there are a bunch of people in my area looking for the deals, so I dont expect them to hit the penny level (or someone else hides them and waits it out)

If I can get 2 of something at whatever clearance price, I basically try to sell the second with enough profit to make the 1 I keep for myself a freebie. Is that wrong? I dont think so.....I end up with the item for "free" and whoever buys the other gets a good deal (because even at .03 level it will be a great price).

If it makes anyone feel any better, a lot of stuff takes a long time to sell. I still have plenty of larger items sitting in my garage.

As far as buying it just to buy it, basically everything Ive ever bought for a penny or .03 price has eventually been put to use. I DIY a whole lot of stuff on my house, cars, etc so Im always finding a use for the tools I end up with.

I'm still waiting for them to start dropping in my area. They are still full price here.

The shelf below this one said $300.** so I checked on a computer and sure enough the price was $100.03. I figured it might come in handy for some GJ user near here.

Thanks to the information here. I found a nailer and my buddy and I each bought one. I originally took one that rang up as $399. They thought I was trying to scam then. I didn't realize it was the XP model. I showed them the SKU for the clearance one and it showed 100.03 on the screen at self check out. He saw that a store about 20 min away had two. My buddy had just bought a husky 52" tool box set for 498!! So we ran over and got them. Now I can get my frame on!!

I went to an HD in San Diego this morning and the actual tag on the shelf said $100.03. There was at least one there, but I didn't need it. I was happy with my 5 pack of weenie rollers for a penny.

Finally found a Paslode framing nailer, got an employee to get it down, got it to the register, and while she rang it up the guy who got it down opened it up to check it out and it was used [emoji19]. Left it there

There are a handful of guys asking for finish nailers, are these even confirmed that they are on clearance? I don't recall seeing anything other than 1 guy mention it. Any proof/validity?

I thought someone here had a screenshot of it.

None of the stores near me have it on clearance either. Id be more interested in the finish nailer than the framing.

I don't see anything wrong with calling corporate if the manager/cashier is not allowing customers to purchase penny items. I mean it is corporate policy is it not? If they did not want us to purchase it then they should be removing it from the aisle.

Are you sure you were looking at the correct one? There is a 1.5 Ton jack and a 2 Ton jack. Both look very similar and both were originally $99.99. Only the 1.5 ton one is on clearance. I can confirm there are a decent amount in my area (northern Chicagoland burbs), seems as if they are pretty much all in overstock as I saw only one store that had them on the floor. The store I bought mine from had to get a pallet down that had the jack on it.

The 1.5 is the jack from black friday. Down to $40 if they have them.

What happened to the $25 Jack & jackstand combo from a couple months ago?? Is it still coming up as $25? I don't remember them going to .06/.03/penny

Dunno with idiots selling so cheap on eBay the resellers are under 100.00 profit now.
If anyone wants one of these but cannot find one locally, now is probably the cheapest they will be on ebay.

These were selling for $350 last month on ebay, I'd expect the price to get back to that range within a month or so.

Would it be appropriate to have two HD threads, one for penny deal stuff, and one for deals that HD is actually wanting to sell?

I personally don't post in or read this as often, as I don't spend time pursuing penny deals.

There's no statement here, just seems two threads would be useful.

I was at a few stores today, all three stores had finish nailers in their system on clearance. Only one store had one and when I found it, it was a recon.

I think it was 15.03 last I saw. Didn't pay much attention to it since they were all gone. I did see it at a .06/.03 level though. Can't remember what it was, all I know is it took forever for it to get there...

I think it has been mostly penny hauls lately due to the lack of clearance product out right now. Not sure about you guys but with the recent exception of these nailers, there hasn't been much worthwhile out there. Stores are pretty dry right now.

I did pass on two watts pressure reducing valves today, $7x.** down to $5. Selling for around $50 on eBay. Didn't note the SKU though sorry.

That's been my findings as well. I've not really seen anything that's worthwhile posting about aside from these penny deals.

Today's haul was 9 door levers. None of the knobs I'm needing though. I did spot 9 more penny levers at a local store on my way home, but left them because SCO was closed since it was 15 minutes before closing when I was there. I'll go by and pick them up tomorrow.

exactly.. aside from the $29 pressure washers and $99 generators, there hasn't been much.

The $25 Milwaukee M12 kits were non-existent around here. The $59 Makita cordless kits were non-existent, some stores had them for like $130, but nothing for $59. At least we're able to find these Paslode nailers.

Pretty much everything i'm getting and selling is being used to buy tools that I really need/want. Next on the agenda: tile saw (probably Ridgid), small bandsaw (Ryobi/Skil, although I hear they both ****), and more Bosch 18v cordless tools (grinder, finish nailer, die grinder, right angle drill, and radio). Finally getting my belt sander on Tuesday (trading for it).

Hopefully the Dewalt DW745 table saw and the Ryobi 4ah battery packs start dropping sooner than later. I saw that the Dewalt miter saw DWS709 dropped to $300.
