Coming from a belt drive Chamberlain, could you just swap the motor/head portion instead of changing the track, etc? Just to save some time (I too already have a belt drive in place but not with the WiFi stuff)
These kits are very easy to put together, the track the just snaps together and is held in by clevis pins at the front of the garage wall. It took me about an hour to install one of these a few months back coming from a chain drive craftsman

You could do that, or you could just buy the internet gateway separate and keep your existing unit. That's all you need for the MyQ stuff IIRC.

Already have the door openers courtesy of the clearance deals from a few months ago. 2 small doors, 1 of which already has a Chamberlain belt drive unit installed. Although it looks like the actual internet gateway might be clearanced now too? Could be a good alternative, maybe.

I know the tracks are easy to put together, etc but its cold out! So the faster I can hang the new ones, the better.

Ya, it should be pretty quick for you. As you say, I would just swap out the motor, everything else is identical. Shouldn't take you more than 30min to swap out the motor and reprogram the travel.

What took me the longest was messing around with the door arm connections trying to get it to open wider. If it hadn't been for that, it would have been a piece of cake. It was probably 40 in the garage yesterday when I was doing it. Not warm, but not too too bad.

To replace the chain drive you will have to change the track obviously, and likely the hanger bracket on the door end of the track (at least I did). I kept all the same sensors etc., just changed the wall control.

I gave up on trying to figure it out so I called a garage guy to come and do it. Was cheapest in town and was $190 for 2. I ended up talking to him and he loved the 1.25 I got for ~65. He told me he sells that exact model with install for 400 all day long. I offered him one for the 190 labor cost and then sold him the other 3 I had at 175 a piece.. Was so nice not having to fool around with all that stuff.

Went out on lunch and came back to a shitstorm at work. The chamberlains are still ~$40 but all the local inventory is zeroed out and the two that I was assuming an employee had stashed away are missing.

It looks like the shop scott towels are on clearance because they brought in some no name brand. dewalt 29 piece titanium drill bit set went 20.03 locally but none in stock. sku 918241.

Finally found a store with the 10 dewalt table saws in stock that are "clearance". It shows inactive. Does this mean in overhead? as I've never looked for an inactive item before. dewalt 10 table saw sku: 136489

Lastly, looks like all sticky tiles are on clearance. Traffic master and Armstrong were both marked down 20-30%.

Inactive means that new ones will no longer come in. What ever they have on hand is what they will ever have until its gone. They can still be in the regular aisle. No-Home means over-head in MET locations.

Not a bad deal. When I have more time, I will try and adjust it some more. If all else fails I am just taking out the stop bolt...

Couple of bath fans dropped...

Picked up the one for $30 since we have that in both of our bathrooms and it'll definitely come in handy. Didn't want to chance them being gone when they drop to a penny.

There is this one I noticed at a store over the weekend. Didn't have a chance to run it in the computer today but judging by the price drop on the others it'll be around $30ish

The fan for $30.03 really isn't a bad fan. Have had it in one bathroom for 5-7 years and it's a bit noisy now. The one I picked up today will replace that one. Our other bathroom is pretty damn quiet and it's been in there for a little over a year since we remodeled it. For $30 bucks they definitely are worth it IMHO.

i have a weird data point and questions:
i was in a store, checking the 'price checker' on the hd pc... i saw the ridgid brushless hammerdrill/circular saw combo on the shelf with a $139 tag, but on the price checker it showed $149. showed even higher on hd.com. took it to SCO and it rang out at $139...
this leads me to believe that the price checker on the hd pc is not always the correct price?? yay or nay?

other question is: i can see some penny items on the price checker on the hd pc, but there are some older penny items that no longer show up at all on the price checker on the hd pc... so is it possible that some of the penny items folks here are posting will not show on that price checker at all and i just need to hunt for them?

Something strange is going on with the Husky garage cabinets that are on clearance that I've never seen before. My local store had one each in the overhead and on display at the $30-$45 prices so I bought them all. Quality isnt the best, but at those prices I figured I would track down some more and redo my workshop corner in the garage. Well, other stores were either out of stock or had them full price. Was back in the same local store I bought them at and found that they were now shoing full price in the computer, but still highlighted yellow as if on clearance. Went to another store and they had one left on clearance, but not at the .03 or .06 price, it was more like a 40% off .00 price. Then I was driving in an area I don't usually frequent and stopped at a newer HD. None of them came up as clearance in the computer, but low and behold, the base cabinet had the $45.03 sticker on the display model. They also had one in the overheads which would have rounded out my collection. Asswociate from flooring came over to get them down and they scanned at full price. Had to argue for 10 minutes to get them to give me the display at the stickered clearance price, but they woludn't budge on the one in the overhead - said they could get full price credit for sending it back. Whole thing doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

But, if anyone has a base cabinet and an overhead cabinet they want to sell let me know. That's all I'm missing at this point for a complete set.
Not sure if they are the same but west sac had the caninets on clearance but didnt chk price as tag showed .00...they did have wall cabinet and bottom in stock...they are black on the outside with silver doors?

They are not penny deals, but I noticed today that Home Depot seems to be clearancing all their AVF brand tv mounts. Almost all of them are between 50 and 75% off. It looks like they were a little overpriced to begin with, but the current sale prices seem to now be about half what the same items cost elsewhere. According to 3camels it looks like Amazon has recently dropped their prices 50% to match Home Depot, so a few of the models are cheap there also.

I don't have a need for one of these myself, so I can't comment on quality etc. I just came across them when browsing the Home Depot website.

http://www.homedepot.com/s/avf%20mount?NCNI-5

If the link doesn't work for you, just go to the HD website and do a search for AVF mount. You should see about 40 different models come up in the search results.

What's the story on these?:

Honeywell -1-1 Day Programmable Thermostat with Backlight
Model # RTH6450D
Store SKU # 835702

These are yellow-tagged at $15.03 and a date of 10/15/15 but when I check the system, they are still at the 75% off price. Shouldn't these be pennied out by now? :headscrat

Not all items drop to a penny after being at the .03 mark, some may sit for 3 months to a year before they go to a penny.

They were .06 on 1/9 around here so that would mean maybe one to two more weeks at least.

Middle of Feb last year was when they hit $25.02

At least one of my local stores had them down to $79 today.

Thanks guys. I'll keep checking on them.

Saw that as well. Too many folks selling them on eBay is driving the price down as another member noted yesterday. I'll try and sell mine locally before going with eBay route.

I'm sitting on about 16. Have to wait for the selling frenzy to die down before dumping them though. This was one clearance item that seemed to be pretty widely available, with 1-3 in the overheads at almost every store (at least near me).

I saw the Gen 1 Fuel combo kits for $200 today.

Also, one of my pretty usual stores remove the public section of the pc menu on every computer except the one at the pro desk.

None around here, over the last 5 days I have hit almost every HD in my city (some 2 or 3 times), had my buddy hit one out by him, I do not think our HD's are participating in this clearance, the only thing on the clearance rack was low voltage lights that were not appealing at all.

They probably just have that section of the menu collapsed - I see this all the time. You just click on the icon in the upper left to expand the public section.

The Paslode clearance was weird on how fast the price came down. HD didn't even try to sell many of the old ones at full price. I bet your going to have to wait 6 months before prices rebound on Ebay.

Yea I agree at those prices, not at 89 to 110 what they were originally selling for. I like my fans noise, masks the sound of my farts

I saw them at the 300 mark, then everyone was out getting them for 100. I still managed to grab a generous amount but it did catch a lot of people by surprise.

What I'm thinking. Can't be worse than what I have now and the higher cfms will be nice. I just haven't decided how I will replace it yet...

I wish I could just replace the motor and keep everything else the same. Anyone ever do this?

Fantech makes really nice remote mount bath fans, and they have a retrofit kit that works with existing fan enclosures. Not clearance price cheap though!

I think the motors are pretty much universal. I already have 60CFM Broan fans so I am going to try just swapping the motors.
