I was informed at the local store that in order to return/ rebuy they have to have more of the item in stock. If they are out of stock, no return rebuy. You would only be able to return.

Go to the returns desk and say "I need to either get a price adjustment or just return it and I'll rebuy it, whatever is easier". Hopefully you can do it with the receipt only. The 3 times I did it I had the item with me and had no problems

Sounds awesome.

I'll try it.

Problem with having the item is that the Keter box is 4'x8' and 500+ pounds lol.

Bring the wife but don't walk in together. Return it then have the wife go up to customer service desk and buy it

Things like this seem risky to me haha.

What if an employee sees it and stashes it? Or buys it? Ahhhhhhh can't take the madness.

Just want the $250 difference lol.

Just hoping the store I bought it at drops the price. Is there a definite time frame you have to get a PM in that case?

How is that a good deal? It retails for $129. He was referring to the kit. Go to the store and do the work, and you'd know that.

lmfao 118 -33% from the tool promo but if you went to the store you would know that.

the kit isn't coming up clearance in any stores near me that's why I asked.

I have done couple of return/rebuys and never had problem....and even applied coupons on top of it... Price adjustment wording gets different views...one lady told me its only 7days limit...so I told her,,,return it/rebuy on different credit card....no problems..

I never take items with me....just the receipt....if problems....try different csr, shifts, days...or even different stores with the lowe price...

you need to find a csr who is good at register and easy going,,,not strict...the dumb ones will screw it up by calling manager or don't know how to....but also sometimes...the good csr will be strict...its luck of the draw... just got it try it...nothing to lose.... and don't worry about HD employee buying that...most don't want that stuff or even want to sell it....too big and too much...they like penny deals...or free...insider network.

as far as store is concerned...its more $$ sales for them...and original store loses the sale $$....

I admit I'm pretty much lurking. I've only found modestly good deals and no one replies to me so I assume no one is interested. If I do find a penny deal it will definitely go here.

Encouraging folks to do stuff like this is likely to trigger some changes and end this gravy train. Personally, I hope so and soon as I have grown weary of reading about everyone's drama reselling on eBay and craigslist. Plus the penny deals are almost non existent around here. Darn MET

Hadn't thought of it that way (more sales for rebuy store) thanks.

Does anyone remember if any of the Ridgid generators other than the 3250 went to clearance?

There was an unboxed generator a few aisles over from the generators shrink wrapped up on a pallet. Definitely Ridgid.

Couldn't get any help tonight as it was right before close. Debating whether it's worth going back in the morning or not. Anyone ever have any luck purchasing something like that?

Went to HD tonight and talked to my friend that I talk to to every time I'm there. I asked him about the price lookout and he just took me to the website. I told him I wanted to see what the had on clearance and he said he could look it up with his phone but that was it. Am I asking the wrong questions? He told me they had inventory coming up and would be willing to give me some pretty good discounts. But not like you guys are finding

Price check app on one of the in store computers. Read the discussions linked on the first post of this thread to see how to find the clearance items. It's all explained there.

I did. I specifically asked him about the price check app. He kept showing me the webpage. There was no computer specifically for customers and every time I went to a computer they approached me and asked if I needed help

I don't think he was feeding me a line. He was pretty straight up and told me about all the tools he just marked down and that he was going to be selling several of the "try it before you buy its" to get ready for inventory. Said he would give me about 60% off on the stuff they had to clear out

What most people here do is go to the computers in appliances. Not at the desk but there should be one on a tall counter you can use while standing usually by the fridges. You should see all the apps there and at the top you'll see one of the apps called something along the lines of "price check app". If the window with all the apps isn't up and you just see the desktop screen then hit start in the tool bar on the bottom left and there should be only one option saying something like "in store apps" or "home depot apps" click that and that will bring up the window with all the apps.

All the computers (assuming they are loaded with the regular image) should have a public section above the employee-only section. In the public section you will see the Home Depot website along with a Price Check app. Search for brands and then filter by clearance clicking the filter button.

That's where I was when a lady approached me. I got the feeling they did not like me using the computer

I will try a different store tomorrow

He was probably just clueless to the app. Most are.

I've had that happen before. Usually the next question after you tell them you don't need help is do you work for Home Depot. At that point I don't even look anymore and just say no. Then they usually go about their business or ask their boss, who usually doesn't care. In the few stores where they got really offended that I would browse their inventory for sale that they don't advertise (always) then I just go "oh, i didn't know I couldn't do that and proceed to go about my business elsewhere in the store"

The jackpot computers are the ones that either A. Have a huge screen openly in the public or B. Are located in an area where you could be on it all day and rarely see anyone. Such as the lighting department or the garden center

Usually I treat them like they treat me, if their nice I'll be nice and tell them I'm just looking at what's on sale. If they decide to be rude I run them around in circles.

Saw the ego lawn mower dropping in price

And saw the Bosch Miter stand drop to 150 from 180. Gonna wait a little longer see if it goes down some more.

Lol! I covered over a 700 miles round trip this week and hit about every store I could find along the way trying to score this thing. $99 plus $12 for replacement warranty, tax, & 10% off.

Dang. Lol. I got really lucky then. I found 3 and bought 3 of them. 1 for myself , 1 for my parents, 1 for my uncle. All brand new in box

Interesting night tonight, ranting ahead skip to end for found deals. Went to return two of the epoxyshield kits (tan) as I don't need them since I found enough in grey. Return went fine, the wife has asked if I continue to clearance shop find a new washing machine. No problem. Do a quick walk through and find nothing of interest except that ridgid extension cord that should be penny anyday. Walk over the outward facing computer and sit down. Immediately a staffer comes over and tells me I can't be on it and I won't be getting any penny deals. I say ok would she like me to get off the computer? She informs me again I won't get any penny deals. Very rude tone. This the third time in the store in 2 weeks each time harassed that I can't buy penny items and can't be on the computer. I stayed polite and informed her that the MOD will have to inform me I am not allowed on the computer and I told her if I find an item on the shelf within customer reach I am allowed to buy said item. Mike, one of the assistant manager, let me purchase a milwaukee bit set two days prior (when I bought nearly $100 of epoxy). She mumbles and hopes on a phone on the other side of the pro desk, short phone call and scampers off.

Not two minutes later I hear a loud voice exclaim What do you think you are doing? Turn my head to see Dan. I inform him politely that I am looking up clearance washers because there was no one in the department to help me. Dan:Well we won't see you any penny items, it is not corporate policy, I can take anything out of your hands before you leave the store even if it rings out a penny, you will not buy any penny items.
Me:Okay, and who might you be?
Dan: I'm Dan the assistant store manager and my associate told me you were going to buy penny items.
Me: I'm looking up washers not penny items. Am I allowed to be on the computer?
Dan: Yea, I don't care as long as you don't try to buy any penny items.
Me: As you can see on the screen there are washers.
Dan: Well your always on the computer and in my store we don't sell penny items.
Me: Mike the other assistant manager sold me one two days ago.
Dan: I don't care what Mike did, I'm telling you, you will not buy any penny items!

I kinda lost at that point, I informed him it was corporate policy as long as it was where any customer could reach to sell penny items, just not in quantity. I was allowed to use the computer no matter what he said. I am a long standing customer of HD and regardless of the deals/penny deals I spend a good amount of money with them. Between my father and I we take care of 8-10 houses. 6 of them being tenant houses so we are always there and all of them were remodeled using HD. This harassment in my view kinda broke the camels back. I've never called HD customer relations but they will be getting a phone call tomorrow in an attempt to straighten this store. If that fails, I will continue to research solely look for penny items within that store. I will then call family, friends, co-workers to pick items up and try to get them through SCO out of shear principal. I find it odd that I can visit literally 15 other stores and not have any problems but the closest store to me is nothing but a headache and is the least visited for deal shopping.

Anyway end rant/

New deals I haven't seen posted. They are half off but not the usual structure we see.

Should be the kit, with 1 3.0ah battery and charger.

I got the Fuel version (bare tool) last year during the 150 off promo. Everything they say about it being close to a replacement for a corded sawzall is true. Its heavy, but really powerful.

i bought one of these last week for 115. If you are looking in overhead for them, i can tell you that the box/case is REALLY big. its at least 1.5x the size of the corded sawzall -it stands out like a sore thumb. It IS the kit - with only 1 battery and charger.

Go to the returns desk and say "I need to either get a price adjustment or just return it and I'll rebuy it, whatever is easier". Hopefully you can do it with the receipt only. The 3 times I did it I had the item with me and had no problems

I actually got denied doin that tonight....wonder if they recognize me from a week ago when i did it with the paslode trim nailer. I asked to speak to the manager and he said aince they were showing none in stock they couldnt allow me to do that. Guess i'll just have to try at a different time of day. Sux cuz every other home depot around me has the 92400 still at full price. Oh wells. Have 90 days to do it...worse case will just do a straight return on it

I looked at them real hard because the price was decent but I prefer my gladiator cabinet for about the same price. Even at clearance pricing if you wait for the gladiator cabinets from sears, lowes or even some hd's its better in my opinion. I like the wrinkle finish as well as it doesn't show scratches like the cheap powdercoat they put on the huskies.

Someone earlier said it was really thin gauge and flimsy. Wouldn't put any tools in them just light stuff. Also major hassle to put together.
