Finally got a couple of deals, but still no penny items. Went to Lexington, SC earlier and found an unmarked clearance section with a number of Milwaukee and Makita cordless tools marked down. I went for yellow, seeing a cordless wet/dry vacuum. It scanned at $25.02, so I paid and took it to the truck. Decided to go back in and scanned the only other DeWalt tool on the clearance shelf. Got the bare tool grinder for $60.

It's a start, and added two more tools to my growing DeWalt 20v Max collection.

Successfully did my first return rebuy with my first 2 Husky wall cabinets that I bought at $58 & $48. Bought them back at $29, the girl at returns had no issues at all.

When I went to buy a display cabinet the other day a grumpy worker tried to tell me the price was $58 (sticker was never updated) and that I could have 10% off of that. I even watched him scan it and it showed up $29 on his reader. I said no, its $29 and thats what I'm paying for it. He then walked away.

I decided I'm just selling all my cabinets and will buy Gladiator ones down the line when the sale comes again. Their quality seems better. I like the idea that its welded and not held together with 50 different bolts like the husky.

I noticed the Ryobi inverter-based generator is down to 599 here. That might be regular price but now its marked as a clearance so its something to watch.

The DeWalt table saw dropped to 229 (I think most everyone knows that by now)

A lot of Husky stuff was added to clearance level but nothing astounding that I could see. The Husky 52" box is now on clearance, down to 579 or 479, I cant remember which (I should really start taking pics at the computers!)

Echo 4G backpack sprayer is still 25.03....I was expecting it to drop to a penny soon but havent seen it happen.

Ryobi 2 pack batteries down to 79....took a look at the shelf sticker (still white, not yellow) and noticed it has a date of "4/8/16 R" on it....does that signify the next markdown or when it will be RTV-ed?

do you happen to have a sku, a link, or an update on the generator?
TIA

What stores do you usually hit? I just walked out of there thirty minutes ago. Had a bad experience in going to write up when I get home. Wouldn't let me use the computers. An associate tried to take the mouse out of my hand. Did you have trouble using the computers?

Last week I was using a computer at the pro desk and a lady asked me if I worked here or was a customer. I said customer and I was just looking to see if they had a item in stock I wanted. She got all snippy and told me to just wait for someone. I saw what I needed and just walked away. That was the first store I had been to where someone had a problem with me using the computer.

Landed one of the Hoover Steamscrub's for 15.03 today. First clearance item I've been able to find in stock here. Also bought a bunch of the husky hooks to hang on my gladiator geartrax since they are all almost gone around here there were pretty slim pickins.

Get snippy back, I do. Tell her to "just wait somewhere else" while you finish searching. Don't let these untrained know-it-all employees boss you around. I say "don't like it, go tell the manager". They never do.

Dws709. Got an additional 10% off also. Couldn't pass it up. Anyone else have this saw? Looks to have good reviews on amazon.

Did anybody come across a Dyson Vacuum (Open Display) at their Home Depot on Clearance? There was no price tag, but was wondering if it was being sold cheap.

Yup, picked up the last one at my local HD and have it mounted on a Ridgid miter saw stand I bought on black friday. Big time upgrade from the Craftsman 7 1/4" miter saw I had.

Here's what happened today at the Lexington SC store. So was using a computer today in the kitchen section looking up clearance stuff. Lady comes and tells I can't use it. Try to find one at the pro desk but there were none so I head back to the comp and this time the supervisor is over my shoulder like a hawk trying to explain how I can't use it. I've told both of them its corporate policy that customers can use it. So I go and search the store and come back to the computer again and the first lady comes over saying "that's it i told you you can't use it" and tries to grab the mouse out of my hand and proceeds to turn the monitor off. I ask for the manager and when he arrived I tell him what's happened and he even tells me I can't use the computer and basically tells me I can shop or leave. Of course I called corporate and complained. I've been to a ton of stores and haven't had any problems until now. How they handled that was ridiculous.

So what's the solution? Did corporate do anything?

Just told the customer service rep what happened. Said it would get forwarded to the store manager. Don't really care but not going back to that store. Two stores later the MOD came up to me while searching for the bostitch framing nailer asking to help. Then came up to me at check out and said he knew what I was doing, security was watching me and whatever and told me to give him a heads up next time and he'd have his guys pull the stuff for me because he just wants to get it off his shelves. But probably more so he or employees can sell the **** themselves.

Wheww, what an ordeal today, don't make the same mistake as me and let them ring you up at the pro desk with a special services receipt, these can't be returned to any other store. Decided to do a return/rebuy on the keter shed because it hadn't pennied out at my local store yet. Did 3 round trips to the farther store where it was full price, 2 of those trips to get the shed home since I had to unbox everything to fit it inside my small suv. On the 2nd trip home, swung by my local HD to do return/rebuy, girl was hesitant and kept saying "we don't carry this" and "this should be returned to the store you bought it because our inventory will be off", I said "your computer says you have 1 in-stock but nobody can find it so I had to buy it at the farther store", she replied "It's because we have it on clearance and theirs is full price so we can't do that." After a bit more back and forth she said "ok let's give it a try....looks like this can only be returned to that store because it's a special service order." ****. Drove home to drop off the rest of the shed contemplating my next move knowing it could penny out tomorrow. Drove back to the farther store for a return/rebuy as regular purchase, then to local HD for return/rebuy, lucked out and got a helpful cs rep and she processed it even taking a 20% coupon.

Both returns needed manager approval, is that because of the high price? They also asked for my ID which I gave thinking it's just for verification, but now am positive they typed my ID# into their program so now I run the risk of being listed on TRE and banned for doing $2k returns.

true, i have seen quite a few laying around as open box/etc.
from what i can see on youtube the problem is the inverter outlet cover is cheap plastic and breaks easily. it will however take a regular wall outlet from cooper, leviton, etc as a replacement...
i think i will jump if the price goes sub $200.. i have a hunch that it could run a tiny and efficient a/c

well in that case it sounds like its worth it, but yea if i were you i would be careful about buying high priced **** that you might want to return for the next yr bc you might get a little receipt that basically says 'FU we wont refund you'

my guess is that you pissed off whoever asked for id, or they were scared about the size of the price adjust. but its possible that 'scan id' was prompted by the system, as i have seen that happen on an hd return.

i have had a few places ask me for id on receipted returns recently < not hd > and i have told them 'i dont have it'. its a pretty interesting game they play, lots of attitude on the end of cashiers at the return desks. 'why dont you have an id? how did you drive here without a drivers license?' lol all over a $10 pair of jeans that were shorter than the length measurement on the tag...

In this case could you just not give them your ID and they still go through with the return

That was my first time stopping in the Lexington store. I usually hit the Columbia stores to kill time, for a few more weeks at least. I'm in Drill Sergeant School, so consider me a visitor. :)

As for the computers, I've never even attempted to use them. After last year's thread turned into the "let's see who can score the penny deals" thread, I briefly started trying to join in the game. Then I realized that it simply isn't worth the time or hassle trying to score penny deals in my area. I'm happy with paying $85 for $220 worth of tools. ***** about your experience, though. The SCO operator seemed ho-hum at best yesterday and didn't even greet me, much less try to scan my stuff.

One time I had a woman ask me if I was an employee when I used the computer. Any other time if someone sees me they just ask if I needed some help. I hate super duper HD employees same thing ones that are snippy about returns.

I know the 709 does not come with a light or laser, and I don't think it's compatible with the laser or light kit at all

Yeah I doubt I'll need the light or lazer. My buddy is a contractor and has this saw, says it does all he needs it to do. I work in finance this is just another toy for the garage I had to have since I don't have a miter saw. And I seem to find the need to buy everything with a yellow tag...

If it's up in the rafters. Might be able to wait for next price drop, wasn't it last year they went to 149?

I got 2 or 3 of them at 100 last year. They went lower after that, if you could find them

The table saw went to 150, then 75 then pennied out.

I don't get why you guys' home depots don't have computers at the customer service desk for use. All the home depots do around my area have one and I have never had any issues. ***** for sure.
