Had an interesting experience yesterday: found one of the Schlage front door locks for a penny. I rang it up at self checkout, dropped in some change, and got my receipt. All of a sudden the attendant is like "Oh no! Uh-uh! We can't sell that for a penny!", and she came over and grabbed the lock. I told her I already paid and had a receipt. She said "Yeah but you saw it was a penny, and you've done this to me before!"
That was when I realized it was the same cashier who tried to stop me after I had already bought 5 Temp 2-O's, and I just walked out of the store with my receipt and faucets, lol.
She then says "I have to call LP and void this transaction. Can I have your receipt?" I say no, but call whoever you need to. She then picks up the phone for an overhead page, and blows into it. Apparently that's the code for Loss Prevention! So these two guys in plain clothes come up 10 seconds later, and they were super friendly. She explains the situation to them, and they politely say "That's up to the MOD, we have nothing to do with that". They eventually get a hold of the manager on the phone, who tells them to let me have the lock.
I should have demanded an apology from that b*tch of a cashier, but I just took the lock that she handed back to me, and walked out. The whole time the LP guys were apologizing for the wait, being very friendly, etc.
