I don't understand staying under 20k. I don't think it offers you any protection. If you sell over 200 items you get reported too I believe.

If the tax man comes you better make sure you have your *** covered 20k or no 20k, technically your still liable for those taxes and if you don't account for the earrings or better yet losses then your going to be up the creek. Anyone over 10k should be keeping a good record of gains, losses and invested dollars.

This is correct. All the 20k threshold is, is the threshold PayPal must issue a 1099-k. Which gets filed with IRS.

You as a taxpayer are liable to report any earnings you have no matter what size of those earnings. Most casual beats don't think or have to report cause in the end it's a couple hundred dollars and they have sold at a loss. When you have 25,000 in sales. And a lot of those are at 100% or more margins. Think penny deals moved at 75% retail price. Then you better be covered in case of audit.

As accountants have written. That 20k. Threshold is a big hole to hide I. If you stay below. But if you get audited. It's easy for IRS. To pull eBay/PayPal records. Of course if they are smart enough to do so.

picked up the rest of my stuff.

I said this last year but it is worth repeating... if you go to homedepot take a copy of last years black friday ad and search the rafters. I don't want to post an ad here (dmca/copyright?) but you can download one from bfads.com.

just look for anything that was marked "special buy" - that usually means they don't normally carry it in the stores and will be selling off any that are left very cheap. About 25% of the special buys will be great clearance deals right now. The rest either sold out long ago or turned into SKUs they continued to carry.

Anyone have a simple sales tracking spreadsheet they want to send me? I really just started this but I think I better start keeping track just in case. :pimpflash

If not, how about some recommendations on where to get one?

If anyone decides that they don't want to use a spreadsheet, there's also godaddy bookkeeping. They bought a company called outright. They make software that integrates with your eBay and PayPal and if you desire other financial institutions. If you search quickly you can find a 30% coupon and that brings the total to about 65 a year or so.

It's worth looking into. It basically does everything for you and in my opinion well worth the time I'd spend looking at a spreadsheet.

Yea that's true but I have a small amount of transactions. And remember it's not all profit maybe 5400 or so that's taxable. The IRS is short employees I'm a small guy compared to others out there who claim everything and make up stuff. If that's eBays and paypals policy the I'm fine by it.

That would have been a solid pickup, probably a mistake looked everywhere.

Those are probably in a box somewhere, often not in the section they belong in and possibly behind something. One of my HDs pulls all of those items and put them behind a locked gate in top stock above the door knobs.

How do you tell the difference between the new and old nutones?

model #s are unique and quite visible for the fans.. there usually aint a ton of diff models up there, but there are frequently boxes behind the boxes so you probably need to use the big steps to truly find everything

i think i have some bad news on those husky silent air compressors:
saw two of them in a lockup area with 'hold for met team' written on them at a store that is usually ahead of the curve... they were still priced at $99 on the price checker.
ps. they were not open box or returns either

and as an fyi/update: these disappeared from the system and sales floor at one store... last selling price was $99. they previously had 6. 4 were up high in a locked up area and not very visible. other 2 were in a diff lockup and visible with the colored papers that usually say 'hold for mm/dd/yy special event' but instead they said 'hold for met team'

and Hd.com says it's discontinued now. my local HD still had one as of this afternoon.

Still at $99?

I saw some the other day at a store with a print out price $167 on a full sized sheet of paper taped to a stack of 2. Forgot to check the PCA to see what it comes up at.

I bought one yesterday for $99 and there was one left today when I went back.

For black Friday they had the R3 jig with a FREE face clamp for $39 (I bought one using the Ace Hardware 50% off one item under $30 coupon) cost $24
I see a combo kit on clearance at some stores, it has 3 things for $79 a r3 a aluminum rail and something else (Not really sure) it has been $79 for awhile.

Don't really need it, just could look cool in my tool storage lol.... I wait for a clearance lol

I saw 3 of the Husky Silent Compressors today and another store has 4 more. What do you see happening with these? Since they have been discontinued on HD.com, does this mean they will likely pulled from the shelves ASAP with no further price reductions? (and those missed and still on the shelf will hit a penny?) I want to get one for personal use so debating if I should buy one now or hope they miss one. :D

Today I had the best offer yet for getting a HD Credit card, I have been offered $25 and until now the most was $50....but today I was offered $75, I would have taken them up on it except I didn't have anything to buy that they could have taken $75 off of.
What is the most you have been offered?

I really doubt they will go from $99 right to a penny. I picked one up at the $99 price because I feel they are worth it.

Yeah, I've been following that $79 set for quite a while myself. Same price at one of my local stores and seems like it might not drop.

As for the Husky compressors, hope they do drop to around $50. I picked up one today for $99,but hoping for a price adjustment possibility. There is still a little money to be made at $99 if they're being bought for resell purposeit seems looking at ebay.

I picked up (3) of the $90 Dewalt DWFP55130 2.5-Gallon 200 PSI Quiet Trim compressors hoping I can flip them as easy as the pancake ones were.

Definitely gonna keep an eye on the Husky price in hopes of a drop before they get pulled.

My husky compressor makes a rattling noise when filling up... Not sure if a problem but I might try to find another to compare to. Might just be because everything else is so quiet.
