Are these the compressors that are on sale?

I thought so, but I just went to tow different stores. The first didn't have any and the second had them for 460 as well.

with that one, i think the hiccup on their end is this:
if it is out of the box there is a tag on it that shows the old sku in the top right corner. if they type that sku in then it rings 110.03 or whatever. but there is a spot to put a barcode sticker on the bottom right of that same tag, and thats where they will put the new sticker with new sku and higher price. if your hd associate pulls that sticker back im pretty sure it has the old sku underneath it too.... no clue how you are going to get it if its still in the box tho. i think you might be SOL unless they have another one that is clearly marked with the clearance sku and just waive that one on thru without digging into it and seeing that they are semi-different

hmm i contemplated transporting a compressor laying down like that but i thought better of it. nothing leaked i take it?

Nothing leaked. It was sealed well. I wasn't going to plug it in and use it right after I took it out of the car so I wasn't worried. Posted up for sale locally for $300. We will see what I actually get.

I arrive today at the homedepot where I bought thirteen 52" tool chest's to see 2 guys loading one of my 52's in to a pickup, I ask where did they get that and they said that they just bought it inside????? I bought ALL of the 52's. These jackasses never took the sold 52's out of the computer so anyone that checked saw that they had 13 in stock. the manager shows me his port computer and says they have 11 left besides the ones i bought. I know that's bull but I am playing along for now. of the 9 people that were supposed to come and get the 52's only 5 showed, two more sales tomorrow and then the rest next Saturday. I dont know what to ask for when they finally admit to selling my purchased 52"

I could sell dozens of these at $310

First mistake was not putting Will Call stickers on them. Second mistake was not having the manager look up the purchase dates today.

The will call stickers should have been done by the manager that sold them to me on the 14th.
I had all my will call orders/receipts with me this morning and I showed them to the store manager, I had called last night and talked to the original manager that wrote up my 13 orders (with will call dates of today, tomorrow, next Saturday and next Sunday) and told him that I might be taking 9 of them today and he said that they would be ready.
They have to make this right, one way or the other.

The way they will make it right is simply refund your money.

I would have paid for them and pulled them out one way or the other.

I would not have used them as my personal warehouse, knowing that there is a good chance the product is going to disappear. Not to mention you were having them hold items for your flip in 7-8 days....

Suggest laying it down with belt side up just like in The.Handyman's pic. There is a vent that will leak oil if the belt is on the bottom.

No need to ask how I know.

They were paid for.
It is normal operating procedure to hold for pickup.
They should have zeroed out the stock in the computer.
I am the consumer from hell, I will be getting compensated.

This, you will simply get a refund and they will most likely continue selling them. It's happened to people in this thread and I had it happen to me on a couple of different occasions.

I understand they were paid for and all that. But you have to figure the level of employee that you are trusting you purchase with. The same employees that leave these items in the over head for us to find.
Bottom line I would never trust will call on a high ticket item I wanted. I would find a way to get it out.

They should have done this and done that. Granted they should have but we are once again talking about the average HD employee and manager that half the time don't have half a clue of what we know...

Your compensation for being inconvienced on having them store your flip, while waiting for YOUR customer to come pick it up from their ware house.....is going to be a refund...

What good does zeroing out the computer do? The items are still on the shelve to buy.

Also after an item is bought no one has to go into the system and zero out the quantity. That is done when they are sold automatically.

You bought 13 so if you have receipts from the store 13 were deducted from inventory. If he showed you a system that said there were still 9 more left then it sounds like after you bought 13 another manager was alerted to the stock on the shelve somehow and went into the system and added them back by mistake without checking to see the last sale date and how many were sold and checking to see if they were picked up. It then sound like 4 were sold so thay leaves a balance of 9 left.

Unless there is a big "SOLD" sign slapped on the item, what's to stop a customer from simply getting an HD employee to get it down and taking it through checkout?

I bought a compressor yesterday afternoon but didn't have a truck to get it home. Paid for it and told them I'd be back today to get it. Asked them if they would put something on it noted it was sold and she said yes. Got my neighbors truck and decided to pick up the compressor last night. 5 hours after I bought it, it was still up in the overhead with no sticker or anything on it.

I'd guess a lot of people would just take a sold sign off something they wanted if they saw it.

Would that sign that says rays bay keep any of us from getting an item? Not me.

I guess if I had to leave large items in the store I'd watch them move them all to the back employee area only. Take a photo and get the Mgr on duty to know you left them there verify he sees them.

There should have been signs on it saying "Paid and hold for" will call and the sales info, otherwise how can they hold internet orders without the merchandise being sold out from under the customer who ordered?

When I bought my fusion sheds and had them held for pickup they took the sheds back to a lockup storage.

Like crzipilot stated, you're not dealing with rocket scientist here so I can't say I'm really surprised stuff like this happens.

2 maglights at $5.03, blue and black. located in the x.03 and x.06 cut-through endcap next to the drills in tool section. a few handheld cheap led flashlights there as well (i grabbed the last $1.33 cheapie).

plenty of the led $25 shop lights in the lighting area on the shelf.

no air compressors, toolboxes, pressure washer, or dewalt clearance drills other than a brushed drill pair (stock item) discounted due to having no batteries.

Wait till some of the people who bought them call you back and tell you they are damaged, I just opened mine it was sealed with the yellow straps the box was not dented or damaged, but the bottom chest was crushed in the right corners top and bottom, they must stack these 5 high in China and I must have gotten one of the lower ones. Hammered it out best I could its on the side not the front, and at 125 I can't complain, but at 310 I might. Just saying expect some of them to be damaged. :dunno:

Here is a fun one for the group:

I found a 30 gallon compressor today, well at least I thought I id. It was on a mini pallet on the floor, unboxed and buried behind another compressor. It had a yellow $330.06 sticker on it, but I checked the SKU on the tag and the PCA had it at $110.03.

The hardware guy told me that it had some damage and I might have to repair it, but it was a good price (even though he was thinking $330). He got it free and told me to check it out while he fetched a pallet jack. Once I looked at it, I found it in bad shape. The pump was loose, the main tube from the pump was bent (broken), the check valve was missing and the relief tube was destroyed. The h/w guy scanned it and found it was $110 and agreed to take $50 more off so I decided to take it home and see if it could be fixed. No manual, no box.

At home I started to look at this thing I bought. The reason the pump was loose is that only 1 bolt is attached. The rest of the holes don't line up at all. I downloaded the manual to the C301H and the parts diagram has a different pump and motor. The pump on the compressor looks like it is from the 60 gal model or one of the older Husky Pro models. Since the holes don't line up I doubt this is just a mislabeled older unit.

I don't know if this is someone's return after they replaced the mechanical parts from their older unit or if someone at HD tried to do some creative repairs.

Behold, the Franken-compressor:

attachment.php

Notice that it has a single piston pump instead of the two stage, V-pistons that the C301H should have.

Denver in April:

This thing is probably going back. I'll research the part number on the tank better, but I don't think the compressor is salvageable.

Someone actually asked me that question today and I said that they were getting whatever is inside the box and he understood that I had no control over any damage, he was fine with that.

Well they wouldn't sell me the paslode I posted about previously. Ended up not being able to reach it, so had to get an associate to get it down.

He walked it over to the other nailers to try and find a sku. After seeing there wasn't any there, I told him I had it on my phone bc I had bought 2 when they we're on clearance. After he typed it in,he said he couldn't sell it bc they had to return it to the manufacturer.

I said,"So, there's no price that you'd be willing to sell this to me." He said maybe, but it'd have to go through the store manager, who wouldn't be there unto tomorrow or Monday. I asked for the Mod and sh echoed the same thing. In the end, the took my info down and said that the store manager would call.

Not holding my breath, but the did put it back in the overhead instead of dragging it back to receiving or some other black hole. So there maybe some hope.

Re: Home Depot Clearance Thread 2015

Finally scored 2 52" Husky boxes, with the help of another Garager. This is the first big item that I have found multiple incorrect store inventory counts. I visited 4 stores that showed 2-3 in stock and they were no where to be found. given the size, pretty hard to miss in a store so their physical count was off. I see that on small items, but rarely on large items like this. The 27 and 41 inch box counts were correct at the dozen or so stores I searched last year. Also had 8 "hold for met team" labels they clearly ignored, woohoo.

Glad you were able to find them! Two 52s is a lot of tool storage. :)
