The wife says I'm crazy...
I think she may be right. And this is coming from the guy that bought 36 Milwaukee boxes. I think I saturated the local market, and sort of feel bad for the guy on Craigslist trying to sell his measly 4 boxes at near retail.

UncleMike, looks like he changed his ad to bring them closer in line to yours. Can't blame him for trying though.

I forgot to get a pic, but a bunch of hitch, trailer lighting, and chocks are on clearance. I picked up a 3" drop down for $7. I think the chocks were around $2.**

just thought i would mention that the 2pk of maglites for $6.33 or whatever is a steal bc maglite upgraded those little LED lights to throw out a LOT more light than their old LED lights...
i am very happy with mine. wish they had a button switch on them but in terms of compact, durable, usa they are a steal at 6.33

Very nice! I finally scored my first "good" penny deal on one of those trimmers yesterday. It was a display and they wanted to charge $50. I told them last clearance was $45.03 but they couldn't figure out how to ring it up, so they finally just sold it for a penny. . . but it took an hour of standing there waiting. Still, that's the 3rd one I've got, (others at .03) and my wife and father-in-law love theirs.

They have some really nice features. I like the fact they are modular and you can add different things to them. But build quality and name are their enemy right now. Gonna take awhile before people accept them, and it may be too late at that point. Here's hoping for a nice clearance next year.LOL

After many rejections at SCO, today I finally got my 1st penny item...the Klein knockout set. I didn't have a penny or any change but I still chanced it. The SCO cashier was young & busy helping another customer. I checked out with a credit card and got it. I'm pretty sure she checked her screen afterwards but didn't say anything other than thank you for shopping.

I don't want to say this, but HD should change the obsolescence / scrap process. Instead of pennying it out, they should update the sku's item category or some other material master attribute to envoke a validation process at their POS like when u try and buy booze at a store. I assume their accountants need these items as a penny so they don't overstate their inventory. HD's cost accountants will probably realize the write off when they scrap or donate it, but this whole penny thing is crazy. I'll gladly buy all their .03 items.

The penny thing is fine, HD's policy is fine and they should leave it.

Don't give them advice, huh.

Not totally sure but I think they may have a way to set the SCO to pop up with the "please see attendant" screen if something rings up for a penny. Was in a store way away from home two weeks ago, got a pancake dewalt compressor through with no problem.spent a long while browsing Te store Then went back for two moen faucets, a vale and a haysfield. Boom, "please see attendant" popped up. SCO attendant had down sydrome and tried to help me out but I just left the faucets with her. Bought some stuff at last clearance price,.03. Then went back in again for some watts valves that were penny and boom, "please see attendant" popped up again. Ended up getting the valves for 2.55 a piece somehow.

Found the head cashier and told her that the SCO with DS was very helpful and was doing a great job. She asked me to say it in front of the SCO attendant and her face lit up and obviously made her day. Good deed done while penny shopping.

We'll done Jake!!! Getting penny items is cool but I like the "bigger" message in this story. Something simple man, and you may have made her week, not just her day.
