Finally scored a penny deal. Four of the nutone 791lednt bath fans for four cents, nervous as heck in the sco line but attendant got called over by a customer. Also found a mayhew prybar set I couldn't find last time.

I was nervous the first time too, it was a bar and chain kit. I was more so with the big husky utility box, knew that was going to blow up and it did.

Actually, never nervous about it now..Have gotten quite a few pennies, and especially after the big Husky boxes, anything is possible!! And if I want it anyway, or think I can flip it,last clearance price is fine. If I get caught immediately I just tell them I'll buy it at last clearance price, simple. If I was just doing it to do it, just tell them I don't really need it and leave.

I think this is the way to go if your in it for profit and don't want to sit on them forever waiting for an offer greater than $200.

I'm ashamed I didn't think of this myself, thanks for bringing it up.

200 before or after shipping?

You figure you "lose" 10% from fees for Ebay/PayPal, which turns 200 into 180. If you included free shipping you figure its at least 10.00 to ship, which turns 180 into 170.

170 - 135+tax isnt that great of a profit, but its something. If you sold the 4Ah battery as well then you are much better off.

Personally Id like to have an extra 4Ah battery or two....I could sell the kits for 150 and be OK with it but would prefer 175 (CL or OfferUp only...Im tired of feEbay)

I've been watching these for over a month since I needed a better hose. Finally dropped.

Gilmour 100ft Heavy Duty Water Hose 231872

Counts are way off on both at my local store. 66 in stock for 100ft, computer shows 25. 30 in stock for 75ft, computer shows 2.

Both full price at my stores

Both full price at my stores

None of the 100ft or the 75ft hoses in stock here according to PCA. None in any of the 11 stores according to Pro App either. I'll keep my eyes open for the packaging for the oddball but perhaps they were never stocked in our region to begin with.

Question for folks. If you buy something at .06 level and a few weeks later it drops to .03 level in the system, can you get the store to do a return/rebuy?

Is there a time limit, is it completely at the stores discretion, etc.? I'm looking at something that should drop in the next week or two but there is only 1 on hand.

thanks.

I feel like a good samaritan when I leave .03 things on the rack, last week it was dominator pry bar sets, this week it was milwaukee 12" v-jaw pliers.

Yes that is possible. From my experience most stores will allow that. But if you do it too often, they blacklist list you. So my suggestions would to do it only for items you really want.

I've also heard of people returning items that have already pennied out. Then later retrieving the item from the "go back cart" and repurchasing it for a penny. This maneuver can get you an involuntary vacation in the Home Depot Central Detention Center though.

I really wish I wasn't away from my computer all day so I could model this in excel and format this post a lot better. I apologize if this comes off as me rambling. Feel free to skip to the last paragraph if your not interested in the numbers.

The $50 you'd get for returning the battery is close to what you could sell it for on eBay before shipping and fees. After fees, your looking at $35-$40 profit from the battery.

Your quotes for shipping and fees are a bit off. This is going to weigh around 13 lb., so your shipping quote is $5-$10 low. eBay plus PayPal fees are approximately 13%, so assuming you sell for $200, your looking at $26 in fees. fees everything else is good. If you go the eBay route, your looking at $20-$25 in profit (not including sales tax from purchasing the kit because I'm not if its deducted from income tax). All in your looking at $55-$65 profit.

I've had an M12 Kit posted on wallapop, offerup, 5miles, letgo, and craigslist for about a week and have yet to receive an offer above $170. I've received several for $150-$160. If you return the battery, your into it for $85. So, your looking at $65-$85 locally. If you keep the battery, this turns into $15-$35 profit. Assuming you make $40 from selling the battery, your looking $55-$75 in profit.

All options turn out to be fairly close. What makes returning the battery and selling the kit for $150-$160 the better choice is the fact that you should be able sell it within a day or so. This allows you reinvest your money at a much quicker rate than any of the other options, while making approximately the same amount of profit.

I prefer to split kits up, more profit if patient. I sold the 1/4 hex impact, charger, 2.0, and 4.0 to a friend for $130 which is less than I would sell to a CL person, wont let the hammer drill go for less than $70. Thats $200 no fees on the $90 cost when tax figured, could of made $20 more without the friend discount.

Actually our determinations are the same...I was being conservative on shipping costs and fees. I know what they are within a couple bux in my case, but I assume others are in different situations (shipping discounts, etc). Like yourself I feel like its really not worth it unless you sell the kit and battery locally

For some reason a lot of the Milwaukee kits seem to work out that way....they seem like they could turn a profit then I check out Ebay sold listings and realize, not so much.

I would like to KEEP one of the batteries, I could return the kit but I wouldnt get the full 135 back anymore and the battery would end up costing me money. Since I dont NEED the battery, even a discount on the battery isnt helpful.

After tax on 135 (BTW, does it charge you tax on the kit + battery cost, even though the battery is refunded?), Im at $144 here in CT. $150 for the kit and to keep the battery isnt horrible, but even $150 seems like a stretch with this kit for some reason (my guess is its "just" 12 volts, the value of brushless being lost on most people)

You pay tax on the $135 only.

The M12 Fuel 1/4 Hex Impact is a kick *** tool, it can take off lugs torqued to just under 100 ft lbs, I have done it!

If you want the 4.0, keep the one from the kit sell the rest and return the freebie for $49+tax.

I think that's one of the main reasons. I think another big factor is that people shopping Craigslist/offerup don't really know the difference between brushed/brushless power tools and therefore aren't placing much value in the Fuel system. I also had some trouble selling the Dewalt DCD790D2 Brushless Kit that's on clearance for $110. I had tons of of lowball offers and when I tried to explain that this drill was brushless, they didn't have any idea wtf I was talking about.

I already have the contents of the kit, bought them during the 50/100/150 off promo. Can attest to how powerful they are, for sure. I *only* have 2 of the 4.0 ah batteries so one or two more of them would be great, but not if its going to end up costing 40.00 each even after it was "free"

Found a Home Depot whose marked prices are accurate. Hard to find pennies lol but easy to find things since they are all labeled through out the store and computer reflects location of items.

I think the game for this store is to be here at the time they mark them down and take them.

Is this the Paslode 325li that was on clearance earlier this year?
Very top left of the picture

Sku on the case is 1000054734 and is not in the PCA

Pretty sure the case is the same but am wondering if it has the wrong sku or if it's the model before this one:

Check garden section too. Previous stores would have quantity but no location and I only found one pair at random place near the lumber.

This other store had them on the garden area.

That was just a pic I got off here to show as proof of the last clearance price.

Asked to speak to the store manager or assistant manager at the cs desk. When they showed up, I asked if they would consider a cash offer on an item that already dropped out of the system. The guy was too scared to do it but said to come back tomorrow and ask the assistant manager or store manager. Turns out he was just the MOD.

Didn't tell him what it was and heading back there tomorrow to try and return/rebuy my M12 Kit to get the free battery I forgot to get. So, keeping my fingers crossed.

Managed to pick up another CF325Li at a different store that they said had been used around the store.

Gotta be the penny Paslode....... I don't know why you didn't grab an orange ladder and spider money your way up there...... Take the cardboard sleeve of the CF325LI you grabbed and slip it over the bare case of the other nailer and there you go.....

That's the one that comes in mixed bags right? Like a box of multiple bags of parts.
Just a big box (cardboard box not plastic case that they normally come in). I'm not sure what is inside the box. After reading reviews on HD.com it very well might be because people say they are missing like 30 pieces and such.

This will give you idea how bad my HD is. When trying to look for them lady on MET team came up and asked what I was looking for. Since it wasn't penny, I told her. She said we haven't sold one in 16 months and we don't have them. Our count is off and they don't exist. She typed in on her portable pca and when I went back to pca 10 minutes later the inventory was zeroed out. Weird thing is after I buy them the inventory didn't go into the negative, but stayed at 0...

Long story short, found them after hour of looking. Sad that they haven't sold one in over a year and it still not pennied out or out of system. So jealous of the deals I see people post.
