Valve clearance is spec'ed on the 160/190 as:
IN: 0.15 ± 0.04 mm
EX: 0.20 ± 0.04 mm
So yeah there is some wiggle room...
Good info! In English units:
In: .006 +/- .0015"
Ex: .008 +/- .0015"

Pry bar under the flywheel while you whack the end of the crankshaft once with a hammer. MAKE SURE the nut is flush with the END OF THE CRANK when you do this otherwise you WILL mess up the threads.

Any progress to share?
It looks like the OP went AWOL, but there's some good input (with pics) from a Honda employee on this topic in this thread...

My cheap Excell PW finally died after 25 years (RIP). Throughout it's life if I didn't release any water pressure in the pump before starting the engine it would kick back with authority.
You would think so right now I'm getting ready to go to the emergency my 4400 PSI DeWalt Honda pressure washer it pulled so hard it feel like ripping it out of my hand is not the word very aware of releasing the trigger and I did so when I went to start it oh my I think I broke something . I want to know can they be liableWouldn't the overunning clutch on the pull start prevent the engine from pulling the rope back in?
+6 on holding the trigger open when starting
