I ordered last night not knowing that I could save $70+ dollars on shipping by doing will call. Called to cancel today and reordered using will call and will save shipping. Only problem is that they can't confirm for 24 hours if my first ordered was canceled since it is coming straight from Miller.
So....I may have 2 coming to me. Oh yeah, I also have a MM 175...so I may have 3 welders.
Worst case scenario, I can CL one of the MM180's and get more than I paid for it and actually make a few bucks on the deal.
If the deal goes through, based on past CL ads, I can sell my MM175 and break even (with the purchase of the new 180) or even make a couple of bucks. The reason to do this is not for the extra 5 amps, but because the 180 allows you to add a spoon gun directly to weld aluminum (a cost of about $200). The cost to add that to my 175 would be about 3x higher.
I believe the current models have "autoset" which I believe was called WST (wire speed tracking) on the older models. WST was not liked by some and I think the autoset models can have this turned off if you don't want the machine dialing in wire speed. I personally have no problem with and my MM175 runs like a dream.
My head tells me this deal is too good to be true but the longer that price remains on the website, the more I think it might be legit.
If you ever thought about an entry level welder, HF welder, etc - GET IN ON THIS DEAL. This is a top quality welder made in the USA with top quality components for the price of chinese made ****. This is not like getting 50% off of a t-shirt that says "spring break 2011"....this is getting 50+% off a top 180amp welder that will hold it's value to years. Every future thread asking about a good, cheap welder with be answered by a guy saying "dude...you shoulda got in on the Millermatic 180 deal," followed by face-to-palm and regret by the OP.
