LOL WHATT?!?!?! what are you working on??? ive NEVER reached for a 15, 16, or 18.... ive used an 11 on an off chances of some odd hose clamps... i think the metric set is awesome.. 95% of my work on mazda is 10, 12, 14, 17, and occasional 19 and 21...

You obviously dont wrench for a living. 15,16, and 18 are VERY common sizes on anything that isnt asian.

Got my SK ratchet in from Grainger today :bounce: Was not expecting it to ever actually show up. After seeing how nice the long flex version is, I sorta wish I had sprang for the standard one as well.

Still $53.99 for the 18-piece USA Cman Pros in the module set. With all the posts about no more available via mail order, I'm guessing they're getting rid of the last few USA-made sets to make room for incoming non-USA full polish.

I gave in and bought another set (store pickup).

The 10-piece large set isn't on much of a sale, so no second set of those (yet).

I'm tempted myself. My only concern is the quoted 30+ day wait. Makes me think they've already ran out and that's why there is the long wait as stated in earlier post. Decisions decisions :)

I ordered a set on the 18th-shipped 21st Ohio--arrived Perth WA today the 23rd, only trouble is-Austpost takes over from DHL now, 12000k's in 3 days--Austpost takes the same-3 days for 80k's final destination-so I guess I won't be seeing them over Xmas

Sorta off topic, but if anyone here is wanting to paint their garage or home interior projects over the winter, HD is closing out Martha Stewart paint. It is manufactured by Glidden I guess.
$12 a gallon.

Supply Buy must have screwed up a bunch of prices. I just ordered the 14 gallon Rigid shop vac. I wonder how long before the order is cancelled. Or perhaps some small number make it through the system.

If you look Supply Buy has some of their products like grinding wheels for $1,000 but the drills and stuff for $1.00 so I ran up about $400 worth of single items and I am just hoping that any of them possibly go through. We will see but I am not holding my breath.

you just said why you dont reach for those; you work on mazdas
the jis or jin(iirc) standards for japanese cars specify bolt heads; usually using 10,12,14,17 etc
on american cars i think its called ansi; specifying 10,13,15,18 etc
on euro cars its different again

You obviously dont wrench for a living. 15,16, and 18 are VERY common sizes on anything that isnt asian.

lol nope. i really only mess around with asian cars... i was under the impression american cars use SAE no? no idea what euros use, i refuse to touch those.......

There was a push in the late 70's for American car makers to "go metric". Trouble is, all of their previously designed stuff was already spec'd for SAE fasteners, and there was no benefit in retooling everything just to re-invent the wheel. My '97 S10 is a perfect example...the chassis is based on the GM G-body, designed in the mid-late 70's, the 4.3L V6 block is based on the Chevy small block V8 that goes all the way back to the mid 50's, with a fuel injection system that started production in '96, and the body was introduced in '94. Almost all the body, interior, and top-end engine hardware is metric, all the chassis, bottom-end engine, and driveline hardware is SAE, brakes and wheel studs are metric, and I swear there are some of the bolts that are SAE threads with metric heads...you can't make this **** up :shocking:

So who woke up to cancellation notices? I was busy doing a clutch last night and missed all the craziness on amazon. All the prices are back to normal now.

:eek2:

So far no cancellation notices on anything I ordered. Everything shows as 'shipping soon,' but we all know how that goes sometimes. Who knows, maybe some of the orders will slip by...:lol_hitti

Could you post the text? I was not in on this but I'm just curious for some reason. It is interesting how people deal with these kinds of things.

How soon until someone posts how they're going to sue over this, and how someone needs to be held accountable, and blah, blah, blah?

What I often wonder is if when one of us discovered one. Of the Amazon pricing error he shut his mouth and placed the order for 1 or 2 of the items if it would slip on thru. I ordered a few last night after they were poster her.. got the confirmation so who knows but ya I doubt ill get them
