Craftsman 300 pc tool kit showing as $277.87 in cart. Reg. $649 it says. Doesn't look too bad. Is watered down with a few dozen hex keys but most of the sets are. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00933300000P?prdNo=13

In both my local Lowes, they are priced at 14.95 on the shelf. I looked that set over, but I didn't bite, as I have more 1/4" drive sets than I need now.

The local stores to me are Utica, and New Hartford, NY use zip 13502, and see if that works.

I looked at my receipt, and the 51 piece 1/4 drive set was $19.95 or $19.99. I could swear there was a sign on it that said $14.95. The 3/8 set was right next to it at $24.95. I will have to take a look at it again when I go back. This is Lowes in 14075.

Go figure, my store still has them for 39.95, I bought online for 19.98 with an instore pickup. Would like to pick up a couple more sets...

That's a good deal. I just gave the set I got for $91 to Dad for Christmas.

Ok, besides the niCAd vs. L-Ion, can somebody explain to me the difference between the impact driver in the Bosch set and the C3 craftsman from a while back? Are they same size/power, etc?

Wera 3/8" metric set -- 215 bux

Wera Zyklop 8100 SB 2

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0024LOT6Y/?tag=atomicindus08-20

I'm surprised people who bought this didnt' just pricematch with chad tool box website for the 15% difference discount... though I don't believe their 115% policy... since the fine print states 15% of the price difference and not 115% difference of the lowest price... to me that would be 85% of the lowest price.

I'm on the fence about this set because I found out that it's made in Taiwan and not in Germany... Have no problem of made in Taiwan tools, but for the price.... kinda bad they are charging premiums for made in Taiwan tools... especially with the whole Wera warranty thread we have on here.

They are not made in Taiwan. They are made in the Czech republic.

Bosch 18v Lithium (DDB180-02) $99.00 at Lowes. Under $90 with the 10% off coupons. This is a pretty good price, I bought it last time it was this price but it had the free battery which was an even better deal.

Really nice drill.

Craftsman pro ratchets seem to be on special

Order placed. Literally 2 minutes later, I received an email saying the order was canceled because the item is no longer available. I can add it to my cart online right now and check out again. Thank you, Sears. It is incredible to me how a company that large can be so inept at managing their website.

This Bosch impact driver is a 1/4 hex with 1,500 inch-pounds of dynamic torque, which is (divide by 12 inches/ft) 125 ftlbs and half the rated amount for the C3 1/2 drive impact.

The Bosch set is targeted to a homeowner, some drilling, putting in screws, etc.

Thanks for the heads-up. I'm not as familiar with the lingo on these craftsman ratchets as you guys are, I see terms like Full-polish, Thin profile, and Premium grade on their website. Is there a professional version as well, maybe I am just missing them?

I see a Full-polish set of three for $45 down from $60. They don't seem to list how many teeth these ratchets have though?

Pretty sure he was referring to the premium ratchets which are over $60 off at $98.99. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00929498000P?prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockType=G1

I went to my local store this morning and placed an order at their kiosk.... paid and went home to also find a cancellation order.

The frustrating thing is there are TONS of people that actually want to buy things from Sears but over the years both their website and the product knowledge of the people that work at their stores just keep driving people away from Sears by the hundreds.

Sad thing is, I really would like to see the store make it, or at least Craftsman Made in the USA make it but the way they handle their business - the only place they are going is out of business.

If you think the website is inept, you should try discussing any issue with their India customer service- now I just go pound my head into the brick wall outside and consider it done :shocking:

Sears has more than a few issues and it is surprising that their management staff knows less about their business issues and possible solutions than the consumer......but then again I think it is all about short term gains for those guys and not interest in long term survival of the business.

What did the cancellation say?

The website says the 3 piece set is out of stock. I'm not surprised, since that is such a good deal.

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00929498000P?prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockType=G1

It took hours before it showed as unavailable on the website. The reason is their inventory system *****. A company the size of Sears, and their inventory system *****. Now, given their inventory system *****, it is worth noting that the individual pieces sold separately are still all available - so putting 3 individual pieces together and fulfilling the order because their website ***** apparently is not an option. If you don't have a real-time inventory system (and it is laugh-out-loud funny that an outfit the size of Sears does not) that is the least you can do .. fulfill the orders that were placed w/o it being marked as being out of stock. Idiots.

Here is their email:

Thank you for contacting Sears.com regarding the order #xxxxxxxxx. I appreciate the opportunity to assist you.

I am sorry to hear that your order "3 Piece Premium Grade Ratchet Set" has been cancelled. I apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.

***, after reviewing your order details, I see that item "3 Piece Premium Grade Ratchet Set" was cancelled due to the item being out of stock (you chose a very popular item). While our inventory is updated periodically, it is not in a real-time inventory environment. As our website serves customers throughout the entire country, it is typical that several customers will have the same item in their cart. Inventory is again verified after the order is submitted. It can happen that more orders are submitted than we can complete.

However, the refund of $105.67 has been issued and it will take 3-5 business days to reflect on your mode of payment.

We want to make you happy. Take our survey to tell us how we are doing. Your comments are valuable for us at Sears.

Make sure you're registered at Sears.com for emails, so we can stay in touch!

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance. We hope that you will continue to make Sears your choice for future purchases.

You can reach us through telephone at our toll free # at: 1-800-349-4358 and also you can chat with us online.

We thank you for your patience and cooperation. We are here for you! Please reply should you have any further questions. We value your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Have a wonderful day!

Look for Great Ideas throughout the store and find Sears exclusive innovations from great brands like Sony, Kenmore, NordicTrack, Craftsman and Reebok.

Yes, this is the typical form letter for all of their canned responses, and the phone conversations with India CS are about the same. Kind of funny they all have an "American" name for call center and email communication, email usually has their real Indian name in parenthesis.
