I went to HD to look around and they had 1 of the Whalen carts left. I told the salesman that they were showing none online and he said that if there is only 1 that it will show none online because it may be a display or something. So check your HD's if you want one. I will Craigslist my HF one now

YMMV on this, but my local sears (Citadel Mall, Charleston, SC) has the 260pc Mechanics tool sets on clearance for $105.97, which is an amazing price to me. These are the ones that come in the black plastic 3 drawer chest. There were 8 or so there. I had to pass, I'm up to my ears in sockets and stuff because of this site...COO on these is unknown, forgot to check :twak:

Do you have a link for them or is it in store only ?

Heads Up: A member over at SD just reported getting his thin profile CM ratchets and he reports they are stamped USA!!

Let's hope they're not mixed inventory at the distribution center.

After missing the sears deal on the ratchets, I found all three in separate sales from the same seller, said they were KAA and stamped USA.

Bought all three for 76.00 and he cut me discount of $10.00 and free shipping.

Not as good deal as sears but I managed a set of usa ones. My son has a set and there are nice.

Here is the ebay sellers link below. I think he has some more, just make sure you tell him you want USA.

I picked up an extra one of those Home Depot 3 drawer Whalen carts in case anyone wants one. It is still in the box and I have a receipt for it. I will not ship so you have to come pick it up in Bloomington MN near the Mall Of America. Cost me $106.20 with the sales tax. If anyone wants it for what I have in it let me know. First one to contact me gets it. Cash prefered but will take Paypal if you add the extra 3% they charge me. If nobody wants it I will Craigslist it.

I have an extra one as well. If you are in the San Francisco Area you can come pick it up. Cash only.

Is there a list of Sears that are closing or an easy way to find out?

Thanks,
Willy

Thanks, Google answered my question too. I found a list here and an interactive list here.

I just called and got some more information. I am still trying to see if any other stores will match that price. The item # is 00934260000
It has red drawers instead of the gray listed above. If you plug it in on the website though, it only lists to ship for 269, no in store pickup.

my store has 17 in stock, the guy says they will match another Sear's price on the same item. I may go in today to test this. I do need new sockets anyways.

Kudos to my local HD, I looked then up on the inventory query a few days ago and they showed 4 carts. I finally got around to calling tonight, the first guy said he had 3 left but wasn't sure where they were so he transferred me to a woman named Sarah who actually went and found then up in the top of the racks. I promised her I was coming in tonight so she had them pulled down and waiting when I got there. I wasn't sure both would fit in the truck so they held one for me until tomorrow but after I put the first in the second squeezed it in anyway.

Yep, gotta do something about that rear bumper this year, I'm leaving chunks all over the county. Every 1996-97 Toyota 4Runner I've seen has the same problem to some degree, a bad design that holds water, dirt, etc. on the inside. Mine's especially bad because that truck has spent half of the last 20K miles on the beach, off road or at a boat launch.

My sears did not fulfill the 260 piece deal for 105. The part numbers cross reference but not to sell? I don't know, I tried my hardest.

The reason you are seeing clearance pricing on some craftsman tools items; it is the yearly inventory season is here (1st quarter) and many items go way down before the counting process; then, they go to zero and are rtv'd (returned to vendor). Typically, many sets sku's will change and the packaging may/will change; the tool line sometimes is "redone" which may or may not be new sku's but they try to move the old inventory out with the reductions in prices right before the inventory takes place! Definitely, a good opportunity to get some deals! These reductions are usually printed out by the hardware manager and they try to move out the merchandise to the clearance section of the store but many times the stock just languishes in the stockroom and never makes it out there. You might talk the manager and ask about these items... good luck and happy hunting! :)

Very nice. I'm so kicking myself for not going ahead and picking those up. Having been on too many of these "deals" lately I thought I better hold off.

I finally got my 18 piece professional fully polished combos today.....40 days since I ordered them. Made in the USA. I was wondering if the 10 piece set with the bigger wrenches were ever going to be on "sale" like the 18 piece. They are currently 10% off, but I want similar savings to the 18 piece...almost 1/2 off.

Any ideas?

I just got a shipped email with a delivery of February 2-9 but no tracking number .

yeah, it was UPS (which i hate). but it didn't show anything on ups.com for 3 days... just started showing something late last night shipping from UT.

Thanks! Just placed my order for $600 worth of stuff. I've just been waiting on a good sale there. Good thing I held off when they had the 15% off code.
