I wanted to order this but if you type the company name into google comes up with lots of ripoff reports. Anyone have any dealings with this company?

I did order that set about 2 months ago(same deal) and got a call back saying that the price showed is not available anymore and it went up to $18x.**, and took them another 6 weeks and about 3 shipments to get me the rest of the tools, good thing that I didn't need most of them right away
and while might be a better deal, I rather pay couple extra $ and get it from tooltopia or amazon

If you have a pep boys near you and need garage stuff I picked up a good deal today.

Big Red 10 Piece garage combo.

2 1/2 ton jack, jack stands, wheel chocks, magnetic parts tray, filter wrench, drip pan, 4 way lug wrench, and somehow they fit a creeper in the box too.

It's $69.99 on the shelf but there's a $20 mail in rebate. I tried to upload a pic but the forum keeps saying image upload failed

Looks like this is at the bottom of page 2:

Went to HD for the Ryobi Planer and not even in their system, but Mgr. called other stores trying to locate it for me. One store will try and find their inventoried one for me. I did find 3 Irwin Chalk line packs and they showed the 10+ dollars so employee said "it's only that store" looking at the pic here so he scanned it and tada! 4.00 GJ kicks booty and takes names yet again!

Thanks to posters, JASTECH

I hit on the Proto rubber mallet posted here a couple days ago. I got it for $11.30. I checked back right after my order went through and the price went DOWN to $11.11. Today it's back up to $27.06. Meh.

I ordered @ 11.11, tried to send the deal to a friend it was back up to 27.

Finally got my Craftsman ratchets that I ordered last Saturday. Pretty nice and chromed up, but not U.S.A. I'd rather had American made but, it was still a pretty good deal.

Went to Sears yesterday to pick up some stuff and saw a sign saying $10 off $50 or $20 off $100 for any tool purchase on Sunday 02/12 in-store only (Valentine special). Could not see any fine print with it but it might be worth checking out if it can be combined with any sales they have. Just a heads up.

Curious.....

Ratchets I received had the USA stamped and originated from Salt Lake City.

For those of you that received ratchets that did not have USA stamped, where did your order originate from?

Mine came from GA but others have received USA from there as well- my guess is that they are mixed in the pick location now and it is luck of the draw what you end up with (so much for FIFO). I don't think the Taiwan versions are bad and it was a great deal. The chroming may even be better, I have had to return two 3/8" USA made wrenches when the chrome started flaking off (maybe a bad batch).
That said, if they were from China they would be going back.

Mine came from Manteno, Il, 60950. with the L-AA for country of origin stamping. Not sure why since I'm in Alabama. I would have liked U.S.A but I also have to remember I work for a German car company that sales all over the world. As long as they do the job and are well made, I'll be fine. Mine were also packaged in a box besides the actual shipping box. All 3 ratchets were in it wrapped in plastic.

Oreilly Oil and filter, HD Channel Lock

Not a tool but the local oreilly auto today has mobil 5000 5qt jug of oil with filter for $10. With a $5 MIR. Limit 2.

Good deal here. An employee brought the oil/filter deal to my attention when I was picking up some parts this week. The mail in rebate is a pain but even without it this is a decent deal for those of us who like to DIY for whatever reason. Also, my local O has great service and people who are knowledgeable about what they carry. Sad to say but nowadays, at least here in the Mid-west, they stand out for being consistently competent.

Also, for those local to Columbia MO, there were some Channel Lock pliers of various types clearance priced at the HD earlier this week. I was picking up a large slip joint for use on a brake job on the road (to compress a large disc caliper) and it rung up for $12 and change when I was expecting $25+. I asked the checkout girl about it and she said different types of Channel Lock are ringing up on sale and that they have been selling allot of them so YMMV.

Was waiting for this.

Bonus if it really comes in the hard case!!

I bought this same DeWalt refurb from Fleet Farm for the same price (<$30) and it did come with the hard case. It's a true factory refurb and looked brand new, though the power switch *****.

My order arrived today. USA from Pennsylvania to New Hampshire. Just the three in a box. A little warehouse dusty and oily, but US made KAA code.

If it has a rocker switch with a molded rubber cover, just cut off the cover.
I just did this recently and it makes a world of difference... I wish i would
have done it years ago.

That saw is free after rebate about once every 6 weeks, got one after seeing several it times, it is made in Denmark and very nice but who uses a hand saw anymore.

picked up a 1/2" drive beam-type torque wrench today @ Pepboy's Alltrade clearance sale for $7.50. not something I would use regularly, but good to have around if I need to check that my other click-type torque wrenches are working okay. COO is Taiwan.

the other click-type torque wrenches were all sold out at my local Pepboys, but they were marked down by 50% at least so I can see why.

Just recently bought and received a brand new 15pc Proto combo wrench set and tool roll (J1200FASD 5/16" to 1-1/4") from this seller for $159... arrived quickly in perfect condition.

Word of caution: That ratchet is 24 tooth. My Proto torque wrenches have the same head. They ****.

Managed to snag one of the $60 Ryobi planers today. Thanks go to the original poster! It's probably not the greatest planer and it may not last that long, but for less than the cost of a set of blades for a higher-class planer, I'm sure to enjoy it and feel I got my money out of it.

was this the irwin saw you saw at menards? do you have any info on the rebate?

http://www.menards.com/main/tools-hardware/hand-tools/cutting-tools/20-hand-saw/p-1487624-c-9123.htm

Not sure if that's the exact saw, but if you click on "Guest Services" tab at the top of the page, then choose Rebate Center, you can search from a few of the rebates there.

Or click the "Promotions" tab, and view the different ads available in your zip code to see the deal on the rebates. Hope that helps.

Yes, that's the one. It's free quite often, but until the end of the day tomorrow it's $10 with a $10 MIR and another 11% MIR, so you end up ahead $1.10.

All Menards rebates are mailed to a Menards PO BOX for store credit. They take 3-6 weeks most of the time, I've gotten back over $5,000 without issue. I pretty much LIVE at Menards :)
