Sears is really starting to piss me off. They cancelled my order for the add on full polished wrenches, this is the 4th order of mine they have cancelled this year for no reason that I can tell.

if you have a tracking number, track them. they canceld my order for the 18pc set. it shows at UPS 10 mins from my house and scheduled for delivery on monday.... these bastards cant keep doing this... it would be different if it was oversold but it wasnt i think it was either a pricing error or something but i for one have been charged and its been thru a few ups hubs so this isnt a mistake this is them trying to renig on an offer and lying and saying the item is no longer avaialble (at least in my case).... these idiots at sears are saving pennys but losing dollars by alienating life long cutomers.

I got my order shipped notification for my 18pc. set. Guess i got it just in time.

This *****. I got my order shipped notification for my 18pc wrench set on Friday. A few minutes ago I get an email saying my return has been processed and my money will be refunded. How in the hell can I get a shipment confirmation complete with tracking number and now they are saying my order has been cancelled? Also my shipment confirmation email is gone now, almost like it was recalled so it got deleted out of my inbox.

Figured there are a lot of auto detailers on this board:

Autogeek has $100 e-giftcard for $65
http://www.autogeek.net/members-only.html

Pretty slick if you save it for their usual 20% off and free shipping sales.

I don't have any experience buying from autogeek. Do they enforce the "no other discounts apply" rule in regards to free shipping deals? 20% off?

No shipping number, it was site to store. Showed two in stock, i went to check them out, they were there and looked good..ordered and was gonna pick up today...then cancelled. I'd be willing to bet the idiots in the back dont know the modules arent with the rest of the stuff, they did the same **** with the 18pc modules around Xmas at this same store. I ended up having a set shipped, then when I got home went to the store to see if there were any like it said there were online...and there were like 8 sets of them.

Online chat is offline, so I left a message asking that very question.

If you are into high end detailer supplies, they have sales very hard to beat, but $100 is just dipping a toe in the water. I think I up to around $400 or so, and not exactly fully equipt (I do have a Cyclo ).

I got my order shipped notification for my 18pc wrench set too. Then this morning I got an email said "We are pleased to inform you that we have received and processed your return." So I didn't receive it and it already been returned? Weird thing is the UPS tracking shows it is at Salt lake city, UT.

Yep, same exact thing here. I just wish I still had the tracking number they sent me originally.

I believe the 'no other discounts apply' is for this ecard deal in specific. When you are purchasing the actual items in the future, you can use coupons and gift cards together - they are different fields when checking out. So they will essentially stack.

I bought 3x $100 ecards just now. Got three different codes in the email... So they arent all that strict!

And just an fyi... If you dont need something from them immediately, they often have 15-20% storewide sales/coupons with free shipping every couple months. And they have rolling BOGO deals that change weekly. Can definitely get some good deals!

I'm half convinced that the people at sears who set these deals up are GJ members who derive great entertainment from our grief. They probably have a meeting every Monday on how they can best mess with people in the hot deal index thread. ;)

I buy a lot of stuff from AutoGeek. Just did this gift certificate and used a free shipping coupon I had. I've combined coupons with them a couple of times.

If you do this deal, don't forget to get your free sample (on any order over $50). Just type in free sample in the search box on their site and it will take you to the page.

Also check out their specials and BOGOs. Just gob a bunch of Wolfgang stuff on buy one - get one.

i suppose they have to find some form of entertainment at a job where you never know when you'll be asked to pack your stuff and go home....

Interesting. So the thin profile ratchets in these sets are USA? I could be the socket modules and swap out my recently received non USA ratchets... Ok, I would not do that.

Also, do the sockets in these modules happen to be the high visibility ones?

Thanks

They do not appear to be laser etched sockets in pictures...but you never know with Sears. I would also assume that the ratchets are USA made...but that's really only a guess.

those sockets are NOT the laser etched ones or dual marked ones. i've seen this set at the store. they do appear to be made in USA, or at least the packaging at the store said so.

there is a Sears near me that is closing and I was there yesterday and they must have really old stock because a lot of it was made in USA, which was NOT what I saw at another Sears that I usually go to. unfortunately, they only marked things down to 20% of full MSRP and were not willing to budge.. not even match other store sales or online prices. they claimed that their sale was 20% on EVERYTHING, so that's special enough that they don't care to match sears.com or other nearby Sears stores.... sounds rather stupid to me because my friend and I just decided not to shop there. Anyway, they close in April, so I suspect they'll be more desperate in late March or early April.

Didn't see this posted yet:

O'reilly Auto Parts
Buy 5 quarts, or 5 quart jug, of Valvoline NextGen Motor Oil and a MicroGuard filter for $19.99 and receive a $20 O'Reilly Auto Parts Gift card by mail.

The fine print says limit 2 gift cards per household.

Not sure how good the NextGen oil is, but for free it will sure work in my beater. Especially(kind of) for free!!

Current Ad

I was going to get this deal.....and then I read the "fine" print (I need reading glasses). The NextGen oil is 50% recycled oil and the rest I guess is valvoline. I guess I should have went ahead and got the stuff...a free oil filter is free.:eyecrazy:

recycled oil is actually becoming quite common. I wouldnt worry about using it. Its "free" after all.

Whats wrong with used oil?

I am 100% certain the used oil in my friends shop recycle tank is better oil than most buy new, but he has mostly clients that change too frequently and use top premium grade oils (like Torco, or Brad Penn).

The trick with used oil is how is it fixed up? Could be good as new, could be not as good.

They had them marked down in store?

18 piece, full polish, US made set, for 60$. And yes. They were sitting right there, I handled it myself lol.

Might have to double check, but yes, I'm pretty darn certain they were.

SAVENOW doesn't work on the Craftsman Professional CLOSEOUT!14 pc. Standard 12 pt. Combination Wrenches mentioned by Volpster above, but if you go to Mygofer.com the same set is available and PRESIDENT gives you free shipping. I frequently find Mygofer offers cheaper shipping than Sears.

Interesting you could get SHIP4FREE to work on the 14 pc combo set at Sears. I tried that also and just tried again and still can't get SHIP4FREE to work (with two sets in the cart so I was over the $99 minimum). Sears has the worst website. The PRESIDENT code at mygofer.com works on orders over $49. The extra $15 off would have been nice.

Just put an order in for one of the Craftsman 1/4" drive modules. Local pick says it'll be avaliable in 12-14 days :S Fingers crossed the order goes through, payment has been charged (paypal) so looks like there is *something* moving. Odd that it's gonna take 2 weeks though

Tried to order another one of the 1/4" and my local store (pick-up) isn't even an option anymore. All the 3/8" and 1/2" modules seem to be sold out/unavailable. No promo codes seemed to fit on the order though. I'll try tomorrow and hopefully get a few spare modules!

Bad thing is Oreilly does the "bait and switch". You go in to all their stores and the "special deal" product is out. I got so mad I refuse to go into them anymore. Anyone else have the same "issue"? It doesn't take more than a couple of trips to realize the cost in going for "the deal" is a waste.

They always are stocked up at my store. Yours sounds like it needs a new manager.

After a couple of trips, I hope you would have realized to call ahead first. :)
