Armstrong screwdriver:

I bought 2 of these, use it as a pry bar, chisel, or screwdriver.
Regarding the 299 piece socket set: It was less than $300 about a month ago. It only stayed there a few days. Add shipping and it was just over $300. That's why I said with free shipping low-$300 is a decent, but not the best deal.
Also ordered the armstrong screwdriver, there's 1 left now! Thanks OP.

Anyone know how long they price match? Got mine 2 or 3 weeks ago for $280, dropped to $250 the following day and had them do the price match after they recommended it. Of course I would have to find my receipt to try again.
NVM, Google search says 14 days, so I am sure the $250 deal was over 14 days ago.
I'm sure someone must have posted this already... so sorry if this is a duplicate... however just in case anyone missed it
the irwin vice grip deal....
http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/NNPDFF?PMCTLG=08&PMPAGE=1&cm_re=tpnv-_-splof-_-supsv
it's out of stock but their website will let you order it and put you on backorder
also ... use the coupon code EXPMSC3 to ensure you don't get shipping charges (not sure if shipping was going to be charged, but if you use that code, i know it isn't)
so you get 3 vice grips, 3 pairs of pliers, and t crescent wrenches, for $29.00,right? Are these Taiwan made, are they pretty good though?
Oh, I had thought irwin had went overseas, not sure though.
well... seeing they are irwin... i'm thinking they are US made (but i don't know for sure)

Pretty sure they have![]()
They're definitely NOT USA made, unless the sets are old stock.
I don't think Irwin really has any USA made tools anymore. All the pliers and everything I've looked at are imported. Also, Vise Grips are no longer made in the USA,
this thread is kind of funny....
1. oh wow, good deal on tools I must have.... buy, buy, buy...
2. oh no, i don't have a place for all these tools....
3. oh wow, good deal on tool box! i *need* one to hold all my tools...
4. oh wow, good deal on tools,... i guess i have space in my toolbox... buy,buy,buy..
5. oh no, my tool box is full... i *need* another or bigger tool box...
6. rinse and repeat...
i'm a bit guilty of the pattern myself... well, not that bad...
so what's the problem?
same here...I thought about a "make offer"...but what? $6 to save $0.40?
got another one: picture is not great but if someone can verify, it could be a deal. Armstrong 8 piece screwdriver

These appear to just be rebranded versions of Pratt-Reads regular drivers. It's not a great price, IMO.
Here are two sets (minus the stubby drivers)

I didn't see what the fuss was about the first "deal"...
