I have and received a decent amount of cashback thus far.

BUT, Sears' cashback is often 2% or less on tools. Ebay has a lot of hoops that you must jump through to get cashback. I tried to get cashback on ebay recently, but it apparently is only valid on certain non-personal items?

It should take 2 days or less for cashback to register unless something is wrong, and then it takes 60 days before you can request the money be transfered to you via check or paypal.

But hey, money returned after 60 days is still money, so it's usually worth a try, especially when some stores offer 12% back or more.

Bada boom, boughta bing, money goes in my paypal instantly.

I wanted a 2 ft 1/2 drive ratchet, Titan 11072 I think, did a froogle search and found one on ebay with a bin of $30.99 and put it on my watch list.

Checked bing and ebay was 8%, so I let it ride.

Looked at a Hot Deals forum (anandtech.com) last night and saw a thread where trying a few different search words got the rebate up to 20%, so I went to bing, signed in to my bing acct, tried a few words and with Sony I got 20%. With cookies etc. enabled I clicked on the Sony in the ebay hit, which took me to an ebay search page with all the Sony stuff listed.

I clicked MyEbay, selected the ratchet on my watch list, verified I still had the 20% bing showing at the top of the page, and clicked the buy it now, then paid via paypal using my 2% cash back card. Within 10 minutes $6.20 was transfered to my paypal acct. Done except waiting for my new ratchet.

OTOH I used bing to go to Tmobile and buy a refill card, no banners etc., and I haven't gotten that sorted out yet, but pretty sure I know how to make it work.

Sears has their Craftsman one pound urethane face/fiberglass handle dead blow hammer (Made in USA by Nupla) on sale for $14.99. Regular price is $27.99. I have the one, two and three lb. hammers; they have worked out great for me.

Nice - I'll have to check that out. I have the Nupla 2 lb because the c-man equivalent costs more and did not have the metal face and rubber face.

FWIW, the urethane face is supposed to be more durable than the rubber or metal faces (which is why it costs more). I beat the heck out of mine and the faces are still in great shape.

From Nupla's website:

"Impact, abrasion and cut resistant Nuplacast® faces on these Power Hammers set them apart from all other dead blow hammers. Engineered to provide better performance than rubber, plastic or metal, the 100% cast polyurethane faces are designed to withstand the most severe striking applications."

Of note, it says USA in the description, not sure if it's made in USA or what the deal is, maybe the plastic holder was made here. Hard to tell these days since Milwaukee has destroyed their good name by selling inferior overpriced Chinese ****.

Sears has free shipping on orders $49.99 and more. Ends today.

If I had $100 I'd buy that Knipex set! BTW, aren't those made in Europe, Mickey O? :)

If you live in the Northwest, stop by your local Fred Meyer. Today through the 24th they have 50% off all hand tools. Most of it is china garbage, but they do have Channellocks, a few USA Vice Grips, and Vaughn Hammers.

Yeah, I picked up a $30+ Estwing 22 oz. framing hammer for $13.90. They also have a newspaper coupon giving an additional 10% off. Great deals.

...and they're gone... :(

I printed it out and went to Lowes and they matched the price. I got a few sets and within 5 mins of me telling the guy at the store he and a few other employes grabbed every last one.

Wanna guess what my BIL is getting for Christmas.

are those made by danaher too? for $5 it doesn't seem like a bad deal at all. i'm sure a lot of the christmas overstock they had for $25 or less will go on clearance for that much in the next few days. i just bought some 22pc drill/driver set with a quick release hex deal in it for $8. i figured i'd get the extra stuff that came with it instead of buying just the quick release hex deal for the same amount by itself. it also came with a 10 off 50 coupon too.

EQUUS 3160 OBDII Scanner @ Amazon for $185.00 with FREE SHIPPING. Just ordered mine...quite the deal as I have been watching for this unit for quite a while. This unit also has some limited ABS diagnosis capabilities.

Thanks for the heads up! Went into the store and they had quite a few of them. At first, they wasn't going to honor the price but I asked for the manager and he did the price overide.

Ugh, I tried the same at my store, no luck :(. So I decided to drown my sorrow by going to the Home Depot across the street and getting three of those LED Maglites for 9.99 each :).
