what if it is a metric crescent..![]()

But conversely, "Together red and green should never be seen".
Uh actually red and green are complimentary colours and go extremely well together.
Uh actually red and green are complimentary colours and go extremely well together. Furthermore, of all the complimentary colours, red and green are the only two which are of equal luminosity and so balance in equal amounts. 50% red and 50% green are a perfect balance. All other complimentary colours consist of one cold colour and one warm colour and balance at different ratios. For example, orange and blue complimentaries balance at a ratio of 20% orange and 80% blue so you could "leave an orange 4" crescent in your drawer next to a blue 16" crescent and achieve perfect colour harmony. Any 2 crescent wrenches of the same size should be one red next to one green for proper balance.
Those of you without coloured crescents needn't worry though, uncoloured wrenches form pretty much a neutral grey which while being quite mundane, won't create any conflict in the subconscious when opening the drawer.
I'm surprised no one's said this yet.....
Q: How do you leave a crescent wrench?
A: I'm sorry crescent wrench, it's just not working out. It's not you.... it's me.
Q: How do you leave a crescent wrench?
A: I left mine a note: Dear Crescent, it's time we parted ways. We were never a good fit. I'm leaving you for an asian girl. A Harbor Freight Pittsburgh Pro, to be more exact. I know you'll miss me, but you'll learn to "adjust" without me.

i have a left handed metric adjustable.![]()
Hot wife at home. Rather play with her tools.
This thread has it all! Insults, name calling, bad mouthing and a fair share of liars...Guys that are proud of their collections, others ashamed of owing "only one I never use". OCD freaks and down right slobs.

Pssst! You're doing it wrong!
we try
just to put another wrinkle in the *****...
I believe I saw(maybe at HD) a while back.
an adjustable wrench that was batt operated. and when you hit the button it would tighten to the proper nut or bolt size. and when you were done w/ it you could hit the button and it would close.
please tell me I didn't dream this guys

man you guys really over think things lol!
After you are done with an adjustable wrench, where do you leave the jaws?
I always put the jaws to where the rack is flush with the edge of the wrench. Roughly 3/4" on a 12 inch wrench. My boss closes the jaw all the way. Drives me crazy, I am guaranteed to have to open it up most of the way next time.
I always like this kind of human nature stuff.

I carefully adjust it to each possible setting, and as each setting is reached, I wipe it down with a microfiber towel, dipped in a special cleaning solution. I try to reach each nook and cranny.
After cleaning, I repeat the process with a preservative. Then I buff it to a high luster.
Setting it to the midpoint of it's range, I check the setting with a micrometer, making adjustments as required.
Handling it carefully, wearing a new pair of white cotton inspection gloves, I insert it into it's custom kid glove leather storage pouch. This is then placed with care, on the velvet dais, where it is displayed under a hermetically sealed glass dome.
Before leaving, I carefully adjust the lighting to show it off to it's best advantage and bid it a good night.
I never have and dont think I ever will own a "crescent" wrench or pipe wrench. Clumsy, loose, inaccurate and heavy. Just feel like a 300lb ****** to me, or at least what I imagine one would be like.
FWIW though I do set all of my Pliers Wrench's and Cobras to what would be "0" before putting them away.

closed, to take up less room in the drawers and on the pegboard........... geez!I'm just glad I'm not the only one who thinks about this stuff. So I ask my fellow OCD'ers: Does this also affect/contradict how you put away pipe wrenches and channel lock pliers?
This entire thread is screaming OCD.
I worked with a guy who lined up all of his pencils in the drawer of his desk at the end of his workday. Erasers against the front of the drawer, points (all freshly sharpened) pointing away from him, labels all facing up.
