How do you store your funnels?

I store mine in a large plastic tub and snap on the lid. The tub holds the last few drops. The first photo of the trough with the drain pipes, into a common catch container.....all the dirt collects in the open funnels. I vote "no"!

I stick them in the holes of the storm drain outside and let the rain water wash them clean to the street...................

That is horrible! I think you need to rethink this. I mean everyone knows that is where the old anti-freeze goes.
Old anti freeze and the waste from cousin eddies rv. Sh!tters full!

how about something like this.....

That's awesome! Looks so good.

wipe them out after use and put in a cabinet.

This is what I do too. I thought about making something with all the nice ideas we have on here, but the reality is I only use funnels to fill fluids and it's not all the time. So having them sit on the wall would only collect dust and **** in them, which I would have to wipe out before use anyways... By wiping them out and cleaning them before putting them in the cabinet they are out of site, clean, and no **** gets in them before using them. Plus all the funnels that I have kind of stack in to each other in a way.

I just put it upside down in the drain pan and let it drip until the next oil change. Then I wipe clean prior to using.

I have a 5-gallon container that I use for waste oil. When its full, I transfer the waste oil to a 275 gallon tank that I have in the shed (which I burn in my old tractor 50/50 with kero). I nest all my funnels in that container.

LoL. I see about (3) 5 gal buckets a day on the side of the freeway. I'm a rep for company and on the road all day. So I always laugh when I see clever uses for 5 gal buckets. I have at least 3 not being used. I like the hole saw idea, but I think I'm going to just put some oil soak in the bottom and toss them all in there. No holes in the top. This way they can drain out to the oil soak and keeps the dust and debris off them with the lid on. I'm always wiping out wood dust. So this will work nicely.

Jeff

Kerosene 50/50 with motor oil equals diesel??

No but you can run most diesels, even trucks, on anything oil. The kerosene adds combustibility while the oil adds Lube. I applaud anyone who runs tractors or anything on used oil

Good point. I didnt think of all of the waste oil heaters northern folks use.

I just imagine the EPA having a time removing smog from L.A. When we are burning 'clear' gasoline. Now take kerosene and near sludge oil and imagine the vapors.

I don't think I have ever actually hugged a tree, but may have along time when trying to climb one.

Did you pet your dog today?

Lmao. Yes I pet my dog today. And I have hugged a tree. Haha. I have run my tractor on waste oil and kerosene before. It doesn't smoke at all really. No more than when I have run it on diesel.

Imo, That being said, I don't live in LA. And we do not have a smog issue in the motor city. So, I think LA's smog had a lot more to do with the climate and the lack of trees, compared to places like Michigan. So it is a well documented fact that the trees will reduce pollution in the air.

CA has lost half their trees since the 1930s. While Michigan had a huge lumber boom in the late 1890s, lots of trees have been replanted over the years.

I have a metal funnel in my car's toolbox. I used it the first time the other day. After wiping somewhat clean, i put it inside a sealable plastic bag and tucked it to form to the funnel so it would fit back in the portable toolbox.

In a Ronco "FunnelButler" of course!
As seen on TV.
Four easy payments of just $69.95, and you can get a second one for just paying separate shipping and handling.

I can't begin to tell you how my life has changed since installing the Funnel Butler. I have given them as gifts to all of my relatives, and they all agree that the Funnel Butler has significantly changed their lives for the better.

My dear, sainted mother said "My Funnel Butler is the greatest thing since the Ginsu knife!, I use it more often than my spiral slicer and my Bullet blender combined!"

Even my low-life, scum-sucking trailer-trash little brother liked his FunnelButler.
He said "he liked the way it keeps the floor clean so his Nazi flags don't get soiled."

GrandMom liked hers, too, but she doesn't actually own any funnels, so she just puts artificial flowers in it and thinks it makes them grow faster.

I give the FunnelButler five stars, and recommend it to friends and enemies alike.

Finished this up today after letting the paint dry. Clears the oil drain pan, angled slightly downward to direct any drips into the oil barrel and simple to build, all-thread and a piece of steel.

Very well executed! Unfortunately, it doesn't work so well with funnels that have screens... :lol_hitti
