How many ratchets do you own?

weekender. i have about 30. 40% snap on, 40% sk, 20% other/missing.

6 3/8in. snappy, Cman, Williams
5 1/2in. Cman and Williams
3 3/4in. Snappy, Williams and Proto

Its amazing how these things seem to multiply

3 3/8---->1 craftman that I found, 1 snapon f80, 1 snapon flexhead

2 1/2-----> 1 old proto, 1 long flex head snapon

+2 3/8 cheap ratchet that i dont use that came with chinesse socket sets...

I have around 10 in my ratchet drawer of my toolbox (used 6 of them regularly) and some in "car/jeep/truck" toolsets.
the most expensive one is a short 3/8 flex head snap on that was a gift.
my most used are my 3 old fine thread Craftsman, and most cherished is this odd looking old craftsman that looks sort of like a T handle.

work box, i have 8 ratchets-- all snap on 80's except 1.

they replaced their lesser toothed family members who then go to the home box. the home box i work out of, but also have odds and ends in there too that i buy at flea markets etc. so home box has my old snappys, along w/ sk, matco, cornwell, mac etc. so maybe 15 ratchets at home.

space is at a premium in the work box. no need to clutter it up. but i generally never get rid of any of my tools. ill trade them, but never outright sale them.

im starting to aquire more home ratchets too. as income becomes expendable, it goes toward cars/tools. more or less starting to get sucked into the older ratchets i find aesthetically pleasing. yet my tool guy said that on his route alone, i was an abnominally, as most techs at the dealerships had 1 of each size ratchet. Where i would buy ratchets w/ specific jobs in mind.

Out of all the sets I have bought... I haven't sold anything, I *should* have closer to 15. Those stubbies get lost easily around here. And there was that 18" Cman tool box that grew legs and walked off with another three.

I actually like my Craftsman 1/2" oiler. Its nice and broken in and been cleaned and lubed a few times. Right now its lubed with 20W oil and has a buttery smooth feel to it.

I love mine and wouldn't take money for it. It's 15" long too, which I don't think you can get in a raised panel anymore. Not that I'd want one of the depressing pieces of junk.

Mine hasn't been maintained in... ever. I'll try the 20w.

Me personally, I have 3. 1x 1/4, 1x 3/8, and 1x 1/2. All Craftsman that came in my set. I've been adding to the set, but never even considered more ratchets. Based on some of the justifications you all have given, I may need a couple more. What have you done to me?

BTW, I'm a non-pro and occasional weekend wrencher.

Pro- at work I have all SnapOn ratchets:
1/4"- 3 (long, normal, midget)
3/8"- 4 (normal, long flex, long 100 tooth, short 1/4" body)
1/2"- 1 normal (I really need a long flex head)
Also breaker bars and torque wrenches in 3/8" and 1/2"

At home:
1/4"- 2 (matco silver eagle and craftsman)
3/8"- 4 (SnapOn, silver eagle, old Mac long flex, craftsman)
1/2"- 1 (craftsman)

All of my work ratchets get used on a regular basis and there's probably 3-4 more that I plan to get as money allows. I also need to upgrade at home since I only like a couple of them. I'm not really into keeping my old stuff after upgrading I usually trade or just give it to friends in need.
