I have probably added five or so more since my last post, I'm sorry I could not pass a 3/8" Mac spinflex for $20, now I need the matching 1/4". Thats my problem, I like matching sets, I get one I need the other drives.

Yep...I feel your pain. Was the same way with the Snap On comfort handles. Bought a few that I needed, found a few more variations i could use and it took over from there till i had the complete set. Then I discovered I could get orange/black comfort handles. Now they all have matching handles. It's a sickness.

I have got around 35 to 40 hard to count got them spread between workshop and the garage and in 5 different tool chests. In process of reorganizing right now bought a new HF 15 drawer tool box to help the clutter a bit.

i have the one that was originally posted, in 1/2, 3/8 and 1/4" as well as an old school craftsman 1/2" and a cheapy princess auto 3/8" drive and 1/4". thought that was a fair number but apparently not after looking through the collections of ratchets on here

looks liked 22. i need to thin the herd a bit. a few of the snap ons need to be taken away,a few craftsmans could be gotten rid of.

idk how it happened all i know is that it happened fast. and part of it is Garage Journals fault.

Eleven in the "main" box (Counting four "wrist ratchets), five in "road boxes" and two in the "Vintage/antique box". so eighteen that I can find...

Two go to ratchets: a Snap-On 3/8 swivel head, and a rare double sided Proto 3/8 and 1/2 in a long handle 3/8 handle.

Well; time for an update: it's been almost a year and a half and I'm (as of yesterday) up to 70! This time I WILL blame GJ,

Not really; I got quite a few in the two big Estate sale buys of mechanics tools in the last year, but the past two-three years or so I've been on a tear on tools again, and have been working it pretty hard, but have also been making my buying habits pay for themselves, so I am actually ahead of the game currently.

I'm also competing a couple of sets of tools and am close to moving my raised panel Wrenches out of the main box and into "retirement" and going to sets of Protos, Same on sockets, but ratchets I'm trying different one and will have to make some decisions there at some point; but it's likely that the main rats will be SO and Proto.

I am also working on filling a 50's craftsman top and bottom with "Long C" craftsman tools and have several other vintage sets of different brands building up.

I had to count but I have 23. If my brother hadn't asked me what my deal was I would have a bunch more. I can't explain it but I want to collect ratchets. I use the same 2-3 all the time but like buying different styles and completing sets. In fact, I think I will get back to collecting. I'm in the mood to pick up a dozen or so nice American made models. I have a few from Gearwrench and one or two Duralast that aren't bad but prefer US models and would love some older ones. Armstrong or SnapOn maybe some round heads. Thanks GJ.

Looks like 34. Everything from China cheapies to MAC, Williams and SK. I almost gave away the cheapies a couple of times but decided to separate the cheap stuff. I have learned the hard way not to loan good tools. Those cheapies are for loaning to the neighbor or brother-in-law.

Did a quick mental count (definitley subject to error - grin) and came up with the number 14. However, I'm probably going to get rid of the Cman ratchets that came in the 540 pc set I bought a while back, and likewise the SK ratchets that came with the 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 socket sets (keeping the socket sets though). I'll probably look at replacing with matco, williams and possibly snapon. I have a 1/4 locking flex matco and regular 3/8 matco (both 88 tooth) and really like them. Bought them from DonkDonk here in the classifieds. But I may get a snappy just to satisfy my curiosity if for no other reason. I love my older S-52 JH Williams 1/2 drive ratchet. I'll keep my older cmans (1/2 and 3/8 drive)which I've had since the 80's and I do have the 1/2 drive premium 84 tooth. I've not had any problems with it locking up like some have had. It's seen little use though. I just bought a blackhawk rotator 3/8 drive. I was a little disappointed that it's a Taiwan tool though. I like to keep tools in the truck and at home in the shop (I'm an incurable DIY'er/weekend warrior).

I have no pneumatic or cordless ratchets or impacts.

I have a glut of 1/2, got 3 or 4 good working units at a flea for a job, now they are extra by far. 3/8 are less plentiful, I have a couple I need but might give a couple of those HF composits a spin. I got a 3/8 flex head sears could get traded in, its occasional though. There are occasions something more is needed than simple but one of the things I do well is rig up the most simple way to do something, my helper alwas resorting to something like that and I got to point out that a longer extension and different socket you could drive it with air ratchet etc.
