Wow!!! I was expecting number in the 20-30 on the high side.
I clearly don't have enoughbetwenn the main box, the house set and the odd balls that are never used I would guess 15ish. Most being 3/8 with a couple 1/4 and 3 or 4 half inch. Mostly c-man.

Snap-On THLF72

3/8":
Craftsman
Craftsman long
Crescent Roto Swivel
Gearwrench 120xp flex
Gearwrench 120xp stubby flex
Snap-On FHLF80
Noname extra long 17" quick release flex
Toolshop regular 72 teeth quick release
Olympia regular 36 teeth (20+ year old)
ATD low profile

1/2":
Klutch adjustable length

17 total. Comparing with some of you guys, that's not enough. I'm thinking of adding at least an extra long 1/4 and 1/2.

I think I have 16 at work, mostly because the ones that don't see a lot of use get taken home. I probably have 30 or so at home and possibly a dozen or so stashed in my house.

I actually just got a Wright 1/2" drive that I plan on making a daily user.

I still plan on buying one of the new SK ratchets.

I think I had 10 when I joined the GJ, so...yeah

Ive got 17 at work. I have more at home. The nice ratchets i.e truck brands are all at work , oddball brands at home. Surprisingly as a flat rate tech , ratchets just dont get used as much as you think. Most of the time its impact wrenches , air or cordless ratchets etc. That said I couldnt do without my ratchets , just love them. Something soothing about using a nice ratchet to turn a fastener.

I think many of us on here are afflicted with the need versus want gene. I know I am. I find it hard to resist "great finds" at estate sales when I don't need it and certainly won't use it. Someday I am going to reverse this trend and start selling! Oh and the purchases lead to shop expansions and more tool boxes!

Guess it pointless to post when your posting gets deleted in a merge

Re: How many ratchets do you own ?

I haven't counted, but I figure maybe somewhere around 30?

Favorite has to be a little stubby someone made from a regular 3/8" Thoreson.

Here's an older pic of most...

Three threads have been merged into one thread now.

No posts have been deleted in doing so except my own that I used to mark the threads for merging.

I have several ratchets from different makers (craftsman, master craft, Pittsburgh , kobalt ect... )but I just wished they would halfway work. I have worn them down and they slip a lot- very frustrating.

I need new ones :(

I have 5.

1/4" Stanley
3/8" Stanley
3/8" and 1/2" old Van Belknap torque wrench that I use as longer ratchets since I already own other newer TW's.
And a 1/2" Mastercraft round head.

I definitely can't compete with others but it gets the job done for me.

At work we have a lot more various different sizes and brands in a community box, but never bothered to count.

I guess I should head out and grab another

Give it time, you've only been here a few months. This place will cause you to go out and buy more tools, a bigger tool box and want a bigger garage. It happens to us all.

So 49, all Snapon. There's some craftsman **** floating around too, so over 50 for sure.

Mostly dual 80's, probably 10 936 series ratchets.

No clue how many ratchets I own. There is probably 7 in my truck tool box and 6 in my tool cart. Beyond that I have a lot in my main tool box, a couple in the house, and some more in other vehicles. Next time I'm feeling bored I will pull them out and start giving them to family members.

Every one of those brands you mentioned should be able to be exchanged at the store... If it's a USA craftsman you can probably find a rebuild kit on eBay.
