How to set up a mobile platform for vise?

Sadly my garage is too full to make room for a workbench. But I do want to set up a vise in the backyard from time to time. I am wondering whether someone with more experience can figure out a solution to make it possible? It is mostly for auto application, like using slide hammers, or using bearing press. Thanks!

Vises are not presses.

any mobile stand is not going to be effective for that kind of vise work.

I don't care how small your garage is, you have room for a bench

Do you have a vehicle with a receiver hitch mount?

Basic steel plate at the bottom with a column welded to it.
Sink anchors into the driveway, garage floor or patio to bolt it down when you really needs to crank on something

Set a 6 x 6 PT post in the ground and add a receiver hitch mount to it. That way you can haul the vise or any other tool that needs to be hard mounted out there and just plug it in. Bring it back into the shop when done.
I just built a receiver mount for my bead roller that will attach to my jig tables or the big tool post that floats around in my shop.

You build a base that fits the square hitch mount?

Picture an L where the bottom end connects to the square hitch hole, the top is the working end.

I have a couple of vises mounted on large rims for a base. They can be moved with a two wheel hand truck. My largest is on wheels and easily movable. It's setup for my outside work mostly on gravel. I can add a couple of 100 pound front tractor weights if needed.

I second the post welded/bolted to an old car rim. I've seen that a few times, and it works well.

The hitch mount isn't a bad idea either. Bit more portability that way (but might be a bit wobbly in the receiver)

Vises are not presses.

Vises can be used for whatever one wants to use them for.

A post welded to a steel plate large enough to allow you to stand on it. This setup uses your weight to keep the vise from moving when in use so it can be light enough to move around easily.

Along with the other suggestions a square receiver hitch cemented in the ground vertical. You can add several in the area for other tools. Make sure the hole can drain.

As a side question, where do you store the vice when it's not in use?

My mobile vise is on a stand on an old medium duty truck wheel.

It isn't perfect for getting crazy but it does the job most of the time.
