I should’ve waited a couple weeks to make my last order!
Guess I have to do another one to feel better 😂

I got to stop by the warehouse today to pick (yup) up my pre-order of the pick set that came in. I live locally, so it was an easy excuse to check out the DRPD space.

Mike has it going on! The warehouse space is brand new, cleanly outfitted with killer Lista furniture, and rack upon rack of some of the most beautiful tools available to us consumers. My takeaway, not explicitly stated mind you but I was reading between the lines, is that if enough of us tool fans start making the journey to check out the space, Mike will set up a comfortable zone for the weary traveler to rest their feet and relax and talk bikes, tools, etc. Maybe even enjoy a cold beverage. I encourage anyone from GJ who happens through the area to make a pit stop and visit the mecca of hand tools.

Nice. Next time I'm visiting back home in California, I might have to find an excuse to stop by DRPD. It's about 2 hours north of where I'm from. But I'm sure I'd spend a lot more if I could pick them up in person, and I have to make the drive worth it.

Lurked here for some time and have discovered many of my favorite premium tool brands here. A few members have poked us to start posting so here we are.

My name is Mike and I'm from DRPD; we're a US-based retailer of premium imported tool brands, namely, PB Swiss, nepros/KTC, KNIPEX, USAG and Norbar. I'm a tool obsessed bicycle mechanic and got into this mess selling tools as I found myself getting frustrated having to source these brands from multiple different places, often overseas. We opened for business a little over a year ago and stock everything at our warehouse in San Luis Obispo, California so we are just catching our stride and expanding offerings as the business grows.

We'll use this space to keep you guys updated on new tools and promotions from our favorite brands and welcome any feedback or suggestions you might have for improving our business. For instance, are there certain items we don't carry from our brand partners that we are missing out on? I know a lot of you here are auto mechanics that can teach us some things!

Shout out to DRPD for a great purchase. Shipping was fast and reasonable, also first purchase of PB Swiss and I'm sold. Quality and packaging were above my expectations.

We recently had the exciting opportunity to visit PB Swiss Tools in Switzerland to get a first-hand look at the rich brand history and modern production operations.

It goes without saying that we had a blast exploring the facilities and interacting with the impressive people behind PB Swiss Tools. I hope you can find some time to read about it here – this is the type of content I think the GJ crew will really enjoy!

I was left feeling grateful that brands like PB Swiss still exist – these guys & gals genuinely care about producing the highest-quality tools possible.

Did you know: In 1953 facing growing production demand, Paul Baumann's son, Max Sr., convinced his father to invest in an American-made injection molding machine (shown below) to produce a new type of molded screwdriver handle – an innovative technology that was unheard of in Europe at the time. While this machine came at a great expense to the business (over half the annual revenue), it quickly paid off and PB Swiss Tools was well on its way to global success.

Man I really wish they would sell handle blanks without the insert. I guess the market might not be big enough though for idiots that would like to stick one of their hard handles on a ratchet.

That must have been an amazing trip!

Thank you for sharing and putting this together. I'm so glad that Company's like this still exist in 2024 and I'll continue to support them, by way of purchases, from you.

My not-yet-a-teen is using some of mine to make weapons lately. I might need a blade only. :D

Is it just me or are not many items pictured not on sale? :dunno:
It looks like just certain sizes on sale but the UI ***** and doesn't tell you that outright.

For example, you would have to click through every single size to find out that it is only the 10mm bit on sale:

I went through a few things of interest and some of the stuff was around 25% off. Some 15%. They advertised up to 35% on the email.
I agree with @tamaraw that its not the best page layout. It would have been easier to navigate a page of just discounted items.
Anyways, seems like some decent sale pricing.

If you click on the "sort by" drop down at the top of the page, and check "featured items", you will get nearly all sale items.

Damn, that went quick! I had a bunch of Nepros wrenches in my cart late last night, went to check out at 8AM this morning and got an error saying everything was sold out. Still got a PB Swiss dead blow and a few other odds and ends.

Let's hope and pray for a HUGE Black Friday sale. I "need" more PBS and Nepros stuff.
I like that bit holder case, I hope we see a sale soon so I can get some hex bits and locking extensions.

Yep, nepros discontinued the IP gold, blue and black ratchets. You can still order gold sets from their website though.

Black Friday sale should be coming at the end of next month. Subscribe to this thread and sign up to DRPD newsletter for the date/codes.

Does DRPD usually start the sale a week early? Or actually ON black Friday? I'm signed up on the newsletter and email alerts and just wondering.

A buddy (weekend warrior) borrowed one of my bit boxes and this is how a #3 PH came back:

The horror.
