I did some CSI style "enhance, magnify" and guessed that it said "Ontario" on it.
I was correct. Will post pics shortly.

One of the jaws needs to be replaced. Functions ok otherwise. There is lithium grease on some areas of it.
The seller said it was his great-grandfather's.
Edit: I paid $50.

Yessir, it is pretty huge.
Similar to /same as Sawyer vises. Anybody have one of those?
It mounts via 1" threaded stud on the bottom.

What's it weigh, and how wide are the jaws?

That is basically the "original" swivel vise... does yours not have a hole in the flange for a drop pin to the bench to keep it in one position? I could nt see one...

Weight is around 60lbs, 5 inch jaws. No hole for the pin.
Any guesses on age?

Early 1900s at a guess. post this up in the "vises of GJ" thread and you will probably get a lot more action on getting a date. Be sure to list it's specs, and all markings.

I'll guess Sawyer (or Oswego).

He is indeed the man. Called it before the pics.

I have since picked up a rusty, but fully functioning Columbian 506M2.
Still want to repair/replace the missing jaw on the Ontario/Oswego.
5" long u shaped jaws. Previous owner started cutting the notch off already.
One of the fasteners has been drilled out, I am drilling out the other.

Not sure where to go at this point: continue cutting and install a flat jaw insert or find/make a u-shaped Oswego insert?
There is a 4" on Ebay for a reasonable $10, so finding a 5" may not be impossible.
