If you do get a .3 micron filter for paint spraying, it is recommended to first pass the air through a standard 5 micron filter. So you get a first pass through the 5 micron to catch the big particles, then the second pass through the .3 micron to catch the small stuff.

Especially if you are planning on painting cars. 5 micron followed by .3 micron.

I've exchanged a few emails with the lead manager for the division manager of IR who's running the shop.ir.com site. It's new site and they will continue to add products over time, so this isn't a one time thing. It's intended to be a quick liquidation website to clear out inventory so they can move on to feeding new inventory/products to the dealer/distributor network.

I've requested that they add a recently listed/new products page that would display products added in the last 15 days only so that you don't have to sort through all of the listings to figure out what's new for the day. The manager seemed very responsive to the idea and have put a request into their tech support folks to add that.

It's going to be very interesting to see how often they add products to the page and if they will continue with the extremely discounted pricing.

Does anyone know if you can separate the various components on the "combo" units?

Could you separate the oiler from the filter/regulator. So I could run air into the filter/regulator, then out to some kind of T connector, then one output of the T is for non-oiled things like tire inflators/blow guns, etc., and the other output of the T goes to the oiler for use with air tools.

All of the other combo ones I've purchased (not this brand), they could be separated as they were modular in nature. No confirmation on these models, but from the diagrams in the PDF, it appears that they are connected by a ****** piece with a bracket inbetween. Called a supply company and he confirmed that they are indeed modular but he hasn't taken one out of the box to check since they come pre-assembled. I took the chance and ordered 3 of the 1/2" combos for myself and 2 of the 3/8" piggybacks (filter+regulator) as garage-warming gifts.

According to the PDF document, the combos are just singles connected with their couplers. Everything is modular.

the site is legit, i just received these yesterday and another package to arrive today (hose reels and burrs) and my two 50' hoses to ship later this week (they had a system glitch)

(heads up, the drill bits are made in china)

the liquidator is sweet

Where did you get the excellent desiccant filters? I didn't see them up there, even in a 'sold out' state. Would love to know what they cost (so I can kick myself.)

Anybody have any idea what this is? It has no picture, and I can't find anything searching google for it.

NYLON HOSE,SELF-STORINGSEE PN TEXT 628005-100

I emailed a few times with tech support and got the attached tech drawing image sent to me late this afternoon.

For your reference, based on the information provided in the partially cropped screen shot provided by I&R tech support, it appears that the product is rebranded Nycoil bulk 1/4" coiled nylon hose with no fittings.

The technical photo provided by tech support says it's Nycoil 14001 marked with I&R's part number. Nycoil went away from the 14001 part number a few years ago and now uses "T4XX2-100" for the same bulk hose. You can see the cross reference chart on page two of a Nycoil sales catalog found here:

http://www.garzatelecom.com/Nycoil/Nycoil_AirHose_Brochure_v6.pdf

A photo of the product can be found in this old ebay listing here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NYCOIL-T4XX...RING-AIR-HOSE-1-4-ID-310-OD-NNB-/270955005366

The most current Nycoil technical data can be found here:

From the emails I had today, I'd say that even if the site has been up for a while, they only got serious about using it this year. From what you've posted and the emails I exchanged today plus a long phone call to the corp office...The impression I got was that perhaps they test ran it with a few products in the past but due to contractual obligations and logisitics, they have held off on putting any large quantities of product on the market until this year. I'm sure there are I&R dealers flipping out:eyecrazy: about the pricing if they are still sitting on inventory.

Either way, I've got a new page to take a look at on a near daily basis.

Oh, and I'll say thank you again.

I was planing on using Harbor Freight gear to keep my equipment up and going, but the pricing here was so great I saved considerably more money than I would have had I purchased HF's gear and I know I'm getting one heck of a better product! I just wish I could have scooped up a good I&R dryer at the same time, it's the only thing my system will lack.

Smoking deal here, just got 7 of the piggy back regulator. Cost less than my single modular regulator when I bought my Quincy. I'll use these to outfit the drops in my shop (when I get a bigger one)

I seriously cannot believe the prices. I bought two of those F-R-L's last night, those are $400 on Grainger, $17 thru IR.

Yes, and free shipping. If you subtract out IR's shipping and handling cost to send this to you, basically IR is giving them away.

Stupid question. Where do you have to go to get the specs for those combo filters?
When I open any given one it's just a pic (and they all look similar) and a part number.
No description on sizes.

If you go to the IR Outlet website, at the bottom of the page is an "order status" link. You put in your email address and the order number, and it shows the order status and tracking number (once shipped).

I just ordered a 0.3 micron coalescing piggyback to go along with the 5 micron piggyback combo I ordered earlier.

After doing some research, I think I'm going to just remove and discard the oiler from the combo. Then run from the compressor into the 5 micron piggyback, then a T branch out of that, then one quick connect off that T, then the other side of the T into the 0.3 micron piggyback.

That way, I can connect air tools off the 5 micron piggyback. Then paint guns would run 5 micron piggyback, into the 0.3 micron piggyback, then into the paint gun.

I'm just going to oil my airtools manually with a few drops before use. So I don't have oil in the hoses.

I hope IR keeps this outlet site going with fresh deals in the future.

I got the P39233-600. Which is the 1500 series, 3/8" NPT thread, 0.3 micron coalescing filter, with gauge, poly bowl, manual drain.

But they also have a few others that would also work well;

P39333-610. The 2000 series, 3/8" NPT thread, 0.3 micron coalescing filter, with gauge, metal bowl, manual drain.

P39333-614. The 2000 series, 3/8" NPT thread, 0.3 micron coalescing filter, with gauge, metal bowl, auto drain.

There are a few more in larger thread sizes. Basically the 0.3 micron coalescing filters are the ones that have a 3 before the dash. The red 3 like this: P39233-600

Right now they have a lot of 3/8" gear up there. Not so much 1/4". For Harry Homeowner types is that ok, using couplings and such to connect to our HVLP guns and impact tools?

I was just at Lowes earlier today, and they had 1/4 to 3/8 brass adapters in the air tool accessories section. About 2 bucks each. So if everything you have is 1/4, then just get a couple adapters to connect the filter into your existing system.

I need a new regulator for my older Craftsman upright compressor. I believe it is 3/8" but most of the ones I looked up on there were 1/4". I would rather try and stay with the same size. Any recommendations on which filter/reg combo to get? Just a simple garage compressor used to blow stuff off and air up tires.

Do you want a gauge? If so, I'd look at this one:
P39334-624

If you don't need the gauge then this one:
P39334-114

Did anyone else's stuff ship on Holland Motor Express, seems odd for the size of the items I bought, doesn't list a weight, seems like they would have paid more for shipping then I paid for the items.

GRRRR servers under heavy load please try again...

Everytime I retry after "servers under heavy load please try again" I get invalid card number. So far not working out for me. :headscrat

I had the same problems last night. It's working this morning....

Wes

Just a heads up for everyone who got the server message, I checked my credit card account and found that my 3 attempts to pay that resulted in the server message apparently did process and post against my credit card despite no order finalization and no creation of an invoice.

So, in addition to the order I was actually able to place later in the morning, I have three extra order payments applied to my credit card that should not have been made against my credit card.

I have a message in with customer support asking for the transactions to be refunded. I will update, hopefully with a resolution.

Another big THANK YOU to the O.P.; I have to quit checking this Hot Deals section. How can I.R. sell this stuff SO CHEAP, Grainger wants 400 for the piggyback unit I got, other places make it look like a screaming deal at 250, I.R. lets it go for 22 ?? Hows the old saying go ... Just hope this stuff is not 2nds or reconditioned. OH YEAH, I also have a Craigslist PROBLEM. The problem is - I AM GONNA NEED A BIGGER GARAGE.

I just got this email:
3 credits for xxxxxxx each have been issued to your account. You should see them post within the next 2-3 business days.

We found that server updates were processing during your attempt to place an order on 4/25.

Please accept our apology for this inconvenience.

Thank you.

Overall pretty painless assuming the refunds process through without issue.

Thanks to the OP. if I had an extra hose reel, I would be helping you out,

I placed my order this morning.

I did see that some items were getting low on quantities, so don't put it off any more.

Paul.
