I have one cabinet that does this. In the lock bar, which is in the back mounted vertical, it has a small flat curved spring metal piece which is suppose to keep the lock bar in the open position. Mine got bent and fell out. Last I checked this part is not available separately, need to get the complete lock bar. Let us know if this has changed.

For closure, they ended up sending me a new bar assembly. Comparing old to new, the spring clips like you posted were 180 degrees off. I installed new bar, and it works 100%. After I was done, I tried to flip the springs around in the old bar for a spare, didn't go well. Maybe that's why it's all or nothing.Thanks for info.

I picked up a used mag drill a few months ago for a future project, and had the plan in mind to build a stand for it to get max use out of it.

I agree with your idea of getting maximum use from a mag drill. If you mount it on a stand like a drill press, you can still yank it off and use it in the field.

I have seen mag drills on little stands, but never on a proper drill press column. Those look awesome. Walker Turner bases? I hope no vintage drill presses were harmed in the making of these very cool frankendrills?

Bought the Walker Turner bases and Delta tables off eBay. Columns are 2 3/4" DOM tubing. Added table height adjustments pirated from old Bug-O torch holding equipment.

Just easing back into a few small projects. Cut down the ugly handle on my carpenters tote, added corner protectors and made a delrin block.

Started mocking up a 2 tier tote I'm going to make from .080 Aluminum if it ever gets here. The base is 10x16.

Got my tote parts sheared and bent yesterday afternoon. Lots of deburring and prep for welding to do. I'm sure getting the courage to weld them will be an obstacle.

Finished these up with rubber feet and some professional help on the tig welds.

On another note, lost my Dad back on Aug 10th. Helping take care of an ill brother now as well. Doubt I'll be doing any "fun" shop work or posting anything in here till next summer.

Haven't posted in a while. Lost my brother right after Dad. No motivation to do shop work, Dad was always here. Salt on the wound was a layoff 5 months after that. Got that all sorted best as I can.

Made some new stands for the Kalamazoo and Burr King. Also made a stand/cart for my Mittler Bros brake, which I'm waiting on arrrival.

Not to worry, there's plenty of gravity in the stands. They are 3/16 plate. . Got my workout flipping them around for painting.

I took my saw off mobile carts, they move away from me too easily. I made up these plates with a stop bar I can lean into, they can be sat on any of my benches. The Femi's stamped base is a pain to fasten to anything. May upgrade to a case base someday.

Nifty solution! You could also use two drilled holes with pins with a shoulder or detent pins.

Put together 2 sets of Fireball Maximus clamps. A pair at 4' and another pair at 6'. I made up these nuts that I tacked in for end plates/feet. Obviously w/1 bolt, they can be quickly switched from pull to push or orientation.I haven't completely decided exactly where and how to store them yet. Probably a towel bar type rack.

Used an extra rib from my benches (flat bar with an arch) and some spacers to hang up my new bar clamps. Got my own brake and mounted it on the stand, that was years in the making A few accessories I ordered for the brake should be here soon, they were backordered.

Got another DW Lista chassis and some drawers in, some future planning as it wasn't an absolute necessity. Next task is to cut down this old scratch and dent chassis to a usable height, where the drawer is currently installed. Not sure how that will go, I'm envisioning cutting the spot welds and shaving off what I don't want with a metal circular saw, we shall see what the reality brings. That more or less brings me to 31' of Lista, and I'm outta real estate.

Working on building a desk frame. A big one. Getting started with the beam and outriggers. Tough to get on plane, but it can be done.

The fab work done. I have about 45 mins of surface conditioning and sanding that I will save until the day of patina. Hoping in about 10 days to have good weather for patina and clear.

My table is not perfect, and the rectangle tube was football shaped. I picked the top of tube to work off of and shimmed with AL sheet scraps from there. I also did not bother to try and include the top of tube in plane, no need.

8/4 ( 1 7/8" final ) thick 3 color maple. Ambrosia, spalted and curly. I expect it around Sept 1st.
