A month or so ago I was at work and was having a hell of a time removing some JIS screws from a motor. So I went to the McMaster catalog and wrote down the P/N's for a #1 and #2 JIS screwdrivers. Well the next day two Vessel screwdrivers showed up and they worked beautifully on the JIS screws but I tried them on standard philips and they worked just as well. I have used Many different phillips drivers (SO, Whitt, Wiha, Cman, Klein and Wera are the ones I can think of) and none have gripped the screw head like these Vessels do. I saw in another thread that SO uses a JIS profile but I don't think mine are, maybe they used a regular phillips back then, mine are around 25 years old? Does anyone know of another manufacturer that makes a JIS profiled screwdriver? I would like to purchase a set for home, I may just order the Vessels but I was wondering if there were any other options.
