Bought our townhome as a shortsale(I'm an agent) just over 3 years ago. Did some painting inside, but never got to the garage, until now.
Its a basic single car garage. 19x10ish. 10' ceilings, so decently high. High enough that I can do some upper storage shelving. Going to be a pretty slow moving thread, as winter is coming. I hope to have the entire garage painted before it gets real real cold and will do Rust Bullet flooring come spring time. I have two rubber storage cabinets that are around 3' tall, that I will probably turn into a work bench along back wall. You can kind of see them in a few of the pics, but not well. At some point down the road, I plan on getting a Harbor Freight 46" tool chest.
For shelving, I am going to have either one or two shelves on the back wall(gray). The wire shelving in the pictures, will go above the garage door track on both right and left sides.
Here are a few pics of where I am starting. Really, its just packed with stuff. A few older craftsman series tools(drill press, table saw, planer(all 1950's). Boxes, toys, junk etc....The empty space on back wall under shelving is where I have had the two rubber cabinets, they are on the left of this picture(where the blue drink and propane tank are sitting on)
Did do some tool storage on the wall last year, but needs to be reworked again.
Not a great photo, but looking from the back wall out. Space above the garage door track, so I can add shelving.
Cutting in around the top for painting the ceiling.
Cant remember if this is after first or second coat of ceiling, but its done now
Its not perfect as there are some joint lines you can see. But its not to to bad overall. Good enough for me.
This is for sure after second coat.
Rear wall is painted(have since done a second coat and is completed)
Thats about it for now. I need to go get more gray, as I am doing the lower 3' in gray, with a 4-6" red strip and white on the top 6 1/2'.
I also am going to remove the dome light and add a LED 3-4' light.
Updates as they happen
