Thanks guys. I'm glad with how it turned out :)

This weekend I picked up another pontiac. a 1955 Chieftain. It has a 247ci v8 (first year of pontiac v8). It sat 20 years but with some fresh gas it fired up in 3 turns! It runs like a new car :) It drives, too. Drove it on the trailer! Not bad for $1000

Not sure what I'll do with it yet...I was just trying to save it from the scrap yard!

AWESOME!!! That deck is SWEET! I would love something like that, but I have a flat yard so it would just be a platform haha...not as cool! The whole project appears to have been a great success...good job man! The loft is def nice too! Now you have a new project!!

I took the old clunker to Pigeon Forge, TN this weekend to a large car show, and sold it! I didn't make much on it, but its gone.

I realized it needed waaaay more than I was willing to invest in it.

Going to start hanging my signage soon. Also found a HUGE 76 inch wide "76" sign from an old station. He's wanting $300 for it. Not sure if I have room for it! lol

So, I've been a busy man, just not IN the garage.

I recently visited a client who had a business that is now a victim to the economy. Super downsizing and liquidation. I ended up getting this very nice metal workbench for $60.

It needs some nuts and bolts and tightening up, but should be perfect for me. I wish it didn't overlap the window...I don't think my OCD will ever get over it!

Also purchased a new motor for my 1989 Formula 350:

Its an LS1 motor! It has about 100k miles and has a ported throttle body and aftermarket cam installed. Came with all wiring, accessories, and an auto transmission.

I sold the seats, I sold the headers that came with it (wouldnt fit my car) working on selling the 4L60e (anyone want it?) and will pull and sell the Comp Cam soon. Bought it all for $2500 and after selling stuff I dont need I will have about $1800 into it which is great!

Plans are to get it in my white car next winter and running/tuned. Following year I will install a Magnusson TVS1900 blower. Should be good for about 600 horses at the rear wheels depending on cam and how aggressive the tune is.

Been a while since I checked out your thread, the Pontiac sign turned out great. Well done.

LS1 into an older Fbody, looks like you have a great project to work on.

Awesome set up. Love the sign, I too am a fellow F-body nut and proud owner of a 94 Formula (In the process of being a WS6 clone). What year LS? It looks like it might be a 01/02 with the LS6 intake but cant see real well. I bought back my totaled 00' Z28 to do that exact swap to my 86' Camaro; sold both for a down payment on my house.

That's a great looking TA. Almost identical to mine with the Color/CETA/Honeycombs. Only missing the Hood myself.

Your Pontiac sign is awesome. In my opinion it is the best sign on here, far as bang for the buck and modified for current use! Anybody with money can buy cool **** but you rescued it and gave it new life! ****!

FINALLY got some alone time today! I spent all day cleaning the garage. I dont have before pictures but it was a cluster since all the construction ended in january.

Here is the table I recently acquired. It was real wobbly but was missing a bunch of bolts and the bolts that were left were loose! Replaced the bolts and now its REAL sturdy. Its already coated in bedliner too which is great, but hard to clean. it chews up paper towels lol

My first tool box. It has a home on the table now....needs a good cleaning to remove the sheetrock dust

Found this awesome little gear oil can at a swap meet. I always needed a trash can.

Before

After a scrubbing.

Right next to my work bench, hung some signs

Opposite corner of the garage, some more signs, and the cabiner housing my detailing chemicals

Found a place for my license plates

One side of the garage door

Other side

I have some more to hang tomorrow when I have the time. I'm living having all my floor space back!

Really liking what you have done with your garage and shed.
Especially at the rear of the garage for the top floor access idea.
I really like the look of the front of the garage can I ask as you stated the garage is 25x32 what size the main garage door is as it looks bigger than a standard 18ft.
Thanks.

Sooooo,

I picked up a Wel-Bilt parts washer from Northern Tool. Its on casters so I can move it easily :)

Cleaning some parts on my LS1 motor

I've stripped off a BUNCH of parts from the motor. So far I've sold,

-wiring harness and pcm
-auto transmission
-cam and springs
-Intake, fuel rails, injectors
-seats
-headers
-ac compressor
-alternator

Out of my $2500 investment for everything, I've recooped $2100!!!! Thats $400 for an LS1 engine which is AMAZING. I still have about another $100 in stuff to sell :D

Heres a pile of parts to ship

Here we are removing the Comp valve springs and cam, to put stock stuff in.

Backwards, I know...but I can't use these parts. I need a blower cam because I will be buying a TVS1900 blower

after

I don't have much left to do IN the garage for now. I'll get some furniture for the loft and start bringing up things like my boy scout patches, pontiac display stuff etc.

hey guys! been busy working on the car and motor, and just got back from a 3 week long honeymoon in the rocky mountains...what a beautifulplace!

Anyway, here are some car related pictures.

Pulled the drivetrain out of my car. Sold the engine.

Brought the 6 speed to RPM Transmission in Indiana for a rebuild. Its all shiny and new now.

Stripped the LS1 completely

At this point I handed it off to PCM of NC Inc. They are a speed shop in North Carolina. Worked with them before and can't say enough good about them!

Loaded up the car behind my one ton chevy

Before I left the speed shop they were working on my engine and had the car on the lift lol

Engine is pretty much assembled.

Waiting on some stuff to be powdercoated.

Nasty engine bay with old yellow paint

Repainted engine bay

Wiring is all removed and will be redone. Apparently its a mess.

Also there is rumors that this build may be featured in GM High Tech Magazine. I can only cross my fingers and pray...that would be amazing :D
