i see there's at least a few more interested.
no promises, but if you missed out on the group buy, post how many you'd like.
if there's enough interest, i'll consider ordering another batch. i don't want to collect money etc beforehand though.
there's also https://www.jensputzier.com/knipex-...om-mini-pliers-wrench-chrome-plated-5210.html
low stock, but should have more in jan.
JP's price is 19.99 each plus 19.99 shipping. not bad if you get a few.
for three, (3*19.99+19.99)/3 = 26.65usd each
I wanted all 3 as well, but happy with the new one... looks cool.only v3 is available
nothing else to do while we wait for these openers, lol.
giordano's is good. i think it's a good, archetypical example of chicago deep dish.
another decent example could be art of pizza.
both of those beat lou's deep dish which i am not a big fan of.
my favorite chicago deep dish is still pequod's, but it is not the standard style.
nice pic, thanks for sharing. i'll have to check out geraci's if i'm ever there.
I'm from STL so I am wired to hate all things Chicago. It's all in jest though. I tried giordano's and felt it was more of a casserole than a pizza. I'll have to remember to try pequod's the next time I am in town.
there's more to chicago pizza than deep dish, and there's way more to pizza than chicago. my favorite pizza might be neapolitan style (the style of naples, italy), but it's hard to pick just one.
sweet!!
hey, could you do me a huge favor and tell me the dimensions (LxWxH) and weight of one bottle opener inside of its little knipex box?
basically the dimensions and weight of a single boxed unit as-sold.
that's info i really could have used when i was shopping around for shipping, but it would still be nice to know now.

Thank you.
I had to dig thru the trash to find the box lol
Luckily garbage day is off due to Xmas. Very cool bottle opener!

Who throws the box away from a $50 bottle opener?

Knipex Rep A said:Since you have ordered a large number of bottle openers from us, we would ask you to tell us your purpose for the bottle openers in an email.
Unfortunately, we cannot send your goods to you before we have this.
We ask for your understanding!
pizza said:Thank you for your message.
I'm getting these bottle openers for my friends and family. I am friends with many tool fans (especially Knipex fans) who will be happy to have them. I'm not selling these for a profit or anything.
I had previously asked about the possibility of a discount because of the quantity, but received no response. I suspect this is not possible, especially since I've already placed my order, but hopefully it doesn't hurt to ask again.
pizza said:Will there be a problem with my orders? Can you please give me an estimated time of arrival?
My friends and I are really looking forward to these bottle openers. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Knipex Rep A said:We regret to inform you that we are currently unable to deliver your orders.
In the next few days we will transfer your money back to you for orders.
We ask for your understanding!
pizza said:May I ask for the specific reason, please? What mistake did I make or what policy was not followed?
This will disappoint many people. What can be done to correct this situation?
Knipex Rep B said:I hereby refer to your order. Would you be so kind as to give me your phone number once so that we can clarify this personally with your order?
Thanks in advance!
pizza said:I am embarrassed to say that my German language skills are very poor. I am communicating with the help of a translation service (Google Translate).
Honestly, communication via email is much more convenient for me. I promise to keep our communications confidential. However, if you prefer to speak, I am willing to call you at a specific time of your choosing if you are able to speak with me in English. I do not have a German telephone number.
I am very sorry for the inconvenience but look forward to clarifying the situation.
Background: The reason for this purchase is I am getting them for friends and family who are fans of Knipex products and are lovers of tools in general. I am trying to get a specific number of them (96 in total) for a specific number of people, and I am not selling them. The reason it is split into two orders (47 bottle openers in one and 49 in another) is for logistical reasons specific to my situation.
pizza said:Hello Mr...,
For evidence of my claims, please see this link to a forum discussion:
https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=470011
My username is "pizza" on that page.
As I explained, we are serious tool fans. Can you please help us?
Otherwise, if you cannot help us, may I ask for the specific reason why the order was canceled? What mistake did I make or what policy was not followed?
Kind regards,
What about JP? Or if they prefer "individual" orders can we ask for combined shipping to an overseas (USA) point and distribute from there?
How about being completely honest and as a last resort link them to this thread? I'd save that as "the nuclear option."
any thoughts on what knipexfans wanted to hear?
i wonder what the "magic answer" would have been for why i wanted so many bottle openers.
would they have preferred that i were a business reselling them? hrm
i'm wondering if they're intended only for the german market due to limited quantity though.

I haven’t read this thread in a few days. I looked to see if they were arriving yet. I am sorry to read there are issues with getting them shipped. Back on the first page, I asked about reaching out to our friends at KC Tool to see if they could help. I would hope that KC would have some pull at Knipex and help with this venture as a public service to help the GJ members.
