Should have told the gibbering knobs that you intended them to open bottles.
may need to be more specific, German beer bottles.

mm, i'm not a linkedin user
Hello Mr...,
For evidence of my claims, please see this link to a forum discussion:
https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=470011
My username is "pizza" on that page.
As I explained, we are serious tool fans. Can you please help us?
Otherwise, if you cannot help us, may I ask for the specific reason why the order was canceled? What mistake did I make or what policy was not followed?
Kind regards,
thanks for throwing this deal together.
hopefully the gj link you sent them will persuade them to release the order.
as others stated - their reasoning most likely is to not sell to a 'tool speculator' waiting to make profit on resale.
feeling desperate with nothing to lose, i linked them to this thread. i really want a bottle opener. lol
still no response though.
Good luck. I am starting to get the feeling they just don't have enough to fill the order.
Am I the only one that is not involved in this but still following the drama and every turn of events?

As you have probably already noticed, we had to cancel your orders.
Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to sell such large numbers of bottle openers to individuals.
Of course, we wouldn't assume that you would resell these in the first place, but the risk is too high for us. Unfortunately, we have had bad experiences over and over again in recent years, which is why we at KNIPEXFANS do not act as an intermediary, but deliver directly to the end consumer.
I hope I was able to help you.

That makes complete sense. I understand.
Still though, there is no other reasonable way for us to acquire these bottle openers.
Would you consider the idea of making an exception in our case? Perhaps we could demonstrate our sincerity in some way, and I could prove that I am not a reseller. I will be distributing these to a large number of people in the form of a group buy at zero markup (no profit whatsoever). It is only for my friends and family who love Knipex products.
The forum discussion I linked to documents our intentions:
https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=470011
This discussion is 11 pages long, and it contains over 200 messages from excited fans.
Including myself, there are 74 friends participating in this effort.
Here is the summary (96 bottle openers across 75 people):
- 54 participants (73%) want one bottle opener.
- 18 participants (24%) want two bottle openers.
- 2 participants (3%) want three bottle openers.
As further evidence, these are some ideas:
- I could share with you the list of buyers (but I must first ask for their permission).
- I could ask them all to contact you.
- Please tell me what you would like to see, and I will do as you ask.
Would any of those options be helpful?
Also, if you have conditions, I would be happy to honor them. For example, if you want, I can limit it to one bottle opener per person. There are many more people waiting in a queue that expressed interest after I closed the group buy. If you want, I can add these people to the list so that each person only receives one bottle opener. In this case, I would send 96 bottle openers to 96 people.
Another idea: instead of adding more people, maybe we could reduce the order to 74 bottle openers so that each person gets only one bottle opener.
Your wish is my command. Do you think we can reach some kind of compromise?
Finally, if it is not possible this year, could you please help us next year for "version 4" of the bottle opener? I ask with sincerity.
Thank you for your consideration,
